  1. THANK THE LORD FOR THIS NEWS! Without the BR and DMR in everyones pocket to start the games we can get BACK to the way halo is supposed to be! The people like myself who ruled the world in Halo Reach will return to the throne! I know almost nobody will agree with me because all of you have taken a liking to living by the BR. But Halo is about fighting for the weapons on the map! Making sure everyone has an AR is the beautiful BONUS!
  2. We already know that Halo 5 Guardians will sell a heap ton of copies. My question is can Halo 5 garner the attention that the series once had in the Halo 3 days. Honestly, im a bit skeptical. Halo 5 is going to have tons of competition this year with the likes of Black ops 3 and Battlefront 3. I'm quite confident that the campaign will exceed our expectations and review scores will be great ( Shooter of the year possibly ). But, what about the multiplayer?For me it seems that 343 is taking the right step in multiplayer, but they could do more. Halo 1 was the beginning of halo and showed the masses that a console can have an awesome first person shooter. Halo 2 completely improved the combat functions of halo 1 and showed everyone that multiplayer and a thriving community is completely possible on a console. Halo 3 completely improved over the last two and added amazing community features like forge and theater mode. Which led to awesome game-types, including infection, grifball, duckhunt, etc... Even Halo ODST added firefight mode, which was actually relatively popular Halo Reach introduced armor abilities, ( which many don't like)The bottom line is, what will Halo 5 bring to the table? Really, to me it seems like Warzone fills that hole. But really, all I see is something that will not be played a couple months from release, as it looks to appeal to the casual audience ( Its not out yet, we will see). Can Halo 5 truly Excel like Halo 1,2 and 3 did ? Or will we see thread posts a couple months after Halo 5's release, discussing the low population of the game ?   4. Just joined the forum to make this post! I'm loving this game, but I'm cycling through controls schemes to find the one that is most optimal for my aggressive style of play. I'm currently using on the Halo 4 control layout, and decided to create this quick mock-up of what I feel would be an ideal setup for people not looking to mod the control itself. I do not care to own it so long as I can use it. I thought I'd name it as well...because like, the others have names too
  5. i just got done talking to someone from xbox support to confirm that i am a "xbox preview" program member. and it is also said that if you are, you get access to the halo:5 beta. i didnt get an email, or anything with a code. am i missing something? what do i do? i just really want to play halo 5. i cant even buy halo:mcc even if i wanted to, so i was happy knowing i could possibly play the beta without it. if you see this 343, please help. also anyone who is having the same issue who has it fixed please help as well.
  6. So I just watched the leaked gameplay and I'm disappointed. Sprint is in the game but the main thing that makes me angry is that there is ADS in the game! That doesn't belong in halo > also the sword looks really...bad. Other than these things it looks alright. What do you guys think if you have seen it?   7. Hello ladies and Gentleman, With epic Halo fans like you guys, i decided a quick thought to share with you guys that came straight out of my brain. I have no idea if 343 industries has thought of this yet, but i am very confident that this is a possible future inclusion. This would be one sick thing in Halo 5 defintly. But lets get straight in before i lose topic control and get into something else. So Promethean Vehicles? Could this even possibly happen at some point, i mean it sounds like some pretty epic thought, but is it really neccesary? I mean, a lot of fans could simply argue of how that would make the game feel more unHaloish, but its a pretty sick thing! Just imagine ok, jumping into a Ground n Pound assault vehicle and have it make some cool affects such as the Promethean weapon arsenel in Halo 4! Custom Games Matchmaking [Waiting since Halo3] [Fixed] Halo 4 forge with more features = Adding Ai [Ai as in everything from UNCS Grunts, to enemies, to campaign bosses] New Forge Mode: Campaign Forge [Lets you go into a campaign mission, choose a checkpointed section, or area, and build there and complete the mission how you would've liked too, or just use that area to make a game mode in] Remove armor abilities from starting load outs and make them pick up if you still choose to keep them in. Make the DMR a pick up, not the BR. Dynamic Animations such as juking to the left or right as you hit jump. [Maybe] Graphics. Coop. Fun mode where you get to play as an ODST. [Maybe as an activated skull, or a custom setting.] In Custom Games allow you to play as: Forerunners, Elites, Hunters, Etc. Be able to use the War Sphinx in custom games.

As a child of the late 90's and early 2000's, Halo: CE struck me with its groundbreaking technology and story as my childhood was ending and served to really get me into gaming and arguably resulted in my love for science fiction and realism. As the years went by, Halo evolved and grew better. With Halo 2 came another batch of great memories and gameplay that would serve as a gaming benchmark for the entire developer industry, it kept the story that was Halo extremely fresh and really served to shake up my conception of what Halo was. It went from being a story about Humanity on the brink of extinction with a few heroes struggling against overwhelming odds to being a story about intrigue and characters with distinct and extremely memorable personalities. These were, to me, the golden days of the Halo Universe. More time passed before Halo 3 would come along, but this game, to me, didn't give me the satisfaction that Halo:CE and Halo 2 had. I was then, about 15, and had come to expect Halo to be a game that would never grow old or boring, but something about Halo 3 just didn't sit right with me. Its single player was decent, not a bad story, had some new aspects and had a fairly good conclusion... but it took me a few days to figure out what was wrong. The game wasn't great... it was just ok. Meh. Decent. Average. This wasn't the Halo I remembered, this was a story that was supposed to be epic but it just felt totally meh to me. Humanity felt like a self-imposed underdog, I never saw any defeats or costly battles that had plagued the Halo Universe like I was expecting to. I just felt overpowered, the story felt unnatural, just like it was originally supposed to be epic by picking up Halo 2's end and tying up the story of the MC with a satisfying final battle. Instead I got a graphics heavy, meh story game that transferred that supposed last epic fight to some random part of the galaxy at the bequest of a giant friggen portal that randomly pops up the middle of East Africa. Then, Johnson and M. Keyes, characters I'd come to really like, just randomly throw their lives away, giving another whiff of a forced story plot that didn't sit right with me. But I overlooked my disagreements with Halo 3, its multiplayer was great and made up for my feelings about the story as I got sucked into Oddball games and Gravity Hammer fights over bombs like they were heroine. I looked forward for a game to redeem Halo 3's meh story. I'm not going to stay much about ODST other than I didn't care much for it, story-wise it was good, gameplay felt stupid, decent multiplayer. It was another Average game, again, meh. Halo Wars, no... just not going to say much about it. I had high hopes, and they were not satisfied. Nothing about this game struck me as good, a majority of it felt bland or downright below average in quality. Nothing else can describe it other than disappointing. Halo 4 came around with groundbreaking graphics and cinematics that made me double take over whether they were live action or actually animated. Story-wise, I'll give it props for originality and pacing... atleast at the start of it. As the game went on, I enjoyed the scenery and the new enemies and guns and what not. But this... this... love story between Cortana and the MC just gave me this recurring thought of "Oh my god, why should I care?". Sure, the story of the MC and Cortana is closely intertwined and they're really hard to not imagine together. But come on, she's a friggen AI, when I first saw Cortana in Halo: CE the relationship between the MC and her felt natural as in the same way it is natural to carry high value goods in reinforced containers... so I didn't think anything of her at first other than a temporary side character the MC is forced to deal with. Now she somehow came to represent his humanity? How does that story plot device even fit into the character of the MC, short answer, it doesn't! Since when was the MC treated as a human, in his story set out in the books, he's already friggen lost any since of humanity after the UNSC transformed him into a piece of military hardware. For Christ's sake, he's been trained since he was like, what, 7 or so, to be a killing machine without feelings. The closest thing he had to a mother is Halsey. Halo 4 furthermore made me fell like MC was being dragged through a story in the same way a dead animal is dragged from a redneck's truck. It didn't feel natural it felt in many ways forced... as if the story writers were trying to pander to people who cant get a story unless the protagonist has someone he/she gets a stiffie for. Why? Why was this stupidly melodramatic lovestory in there; furthermore when was Halo ever about exploring the emotional status of a killing machine? Never! Absolutely friggen never. I DO NOT CARE IN THE LEAST. What's even more ridiculous is the fact that by trying to portray the MC's emotional status, they attempted to explore the emotional status of a blank slate that would make John Locke crap himself... Ok, now that's out of the way, Halo 4 had a decent story when it wasn't trying to make the MC pull a butthurt/romantic personality out of his bottom. But the Forerunner crap got old fast, sure they're interesting side characters and I love how they serve as a mysterious relics of a forgotten age. But trying to revive them into this living force that is an actual threat to humanity felt unnaturally lame. It felt like someone was scrapping the plot device barrel for whatever scraps remained for new enemy types. At most they should be a few working machines waiting for their masters' return, not massive armies stuffed away in convenient places of the galaxy for us to stumble upon like a kid stepping on a sleeping cat... they're dead and should stay that way. For Christ's sake, if you need to make new enemies, you have the Flood and an infinite vacuum of space and time to tinker with. In fact, I feel like the Flood is an under utilized enemy in the Halo Universe (which I know is grounded in good reason). But let's save this conversation for Halo 5, I'm done talking about the meh that was Halo 4. Now we're in the present... and Halo 5 is around the corner. Does it look promising to me so far? Not really... from what I can see from the trailers I've seen, the developers still feel it necessary to drag the MC through yet another story which again to me feels absurd and forced. I really wish, oh how I wish 343 would just let the MC sit back and take a friggen break. The guy's how old now? Like almost 40, may mid-30's? HE'S OLD. Let him die peacefully instead of piledriving him into another story he doesn't need to be in! We have a fully fledged, new generation of Spartans to play with and we're stuck with the MC getting forced to some dumb story in which he apparently goes rogue to save an already dead Cortana?! I might be wrong and tell me if I am, but that story makes absolutely no damn sense. I mean come on guys... really? REALLY?! From what I understand about Halo 5's story, it doesn't correlate at all with the previous Halo precedents. Why would a blank slate, emotionless, completely indoctrinated since the age of 7 killing machine go rogue to save a piece of hardware/software? Why would he even give a damn... sure, they've been partners for a long time in the MC's story, but why would he give up the life he'd known, trained for, and become accustomed to (as in, being a part of the UNSC) for years just so he can have an AI that he basically had a stiffie for because of a forced romance. It's just down right dumb... honestly, I'm sorry, but I've been a hardcore Halo fan for years and this might be the first time I refuse to buy one of the games. I'm not going to pay $60 USD to get what would really only be good in a multiplayer aspect (because it doesn't matter how dumb a story is to MP games, if you could make a MP game about monkey's throwing turds it'd probably be enjoyable), If I wanted another COD or BF game I'd buy one... this is not what Halo is or should be. I'd give my ideas for a new game but I'm honestly tired of typing. I'll probably type up what I want to see in a Halo game in another post but that'd take up a lot of space and time.
  11. Has anyone else ever thought of different Lekgolo constructions? I feel like with their biology there's a whole mess of possibilities 343 could capitalize on. Kind of bring something unexpected from an enemy that everyone knows exactly how to deal with.

  14. Just a shout out to 343. I liked the progress from reach to h4, but one problem for me is that (i Still love Halo) but the game in general got somewhat boring as in Halo Reach. I still love halo but i am not always in the mood to play as much as i used to. Also, many of my hardcore halo friends are disappointed in how halo used to be a supreme uniqueness to it (which made the game extremely fun) but it is starting to lose its touch. I understand that it is hard to continue a series after 10 thrilling years (for example, Call of Duty has same thing every single game) but I miss that uniqueness that made halo so much fun. In halo 5 can u make the forerunner structures same on the outside but different on the inside. For example, in the second mission when you emerge from the caves (right before the warthogs) that is hands down amazing. Yet, on the inside of many forerunner structures i felt disappointed . For example, the interior of the Didact's ships is not as fascinating as i anticipated as on the library in halo CE with the mysterious structures. Also, I would be playing halo 24/7 if you could have an OPTION to change vehicle gameplay to first person, as Bungie did in halo 1. I think it would be cool to be able to look first person in vehicles for to feel like in Special Forces or something like that. Also, reinstating the remaing SPARTAN II's into a reliable team would be a cool thing. Also, If you continue Spartan Ops (please do) can we have a mission where we work alongside Master Chief and hopefully his SPARTAN II team. Also, this would continue the halo unverse, can u explain the gap between h3 and 4 respectively, why we continued the war with the covenant (it wasn't completely explained on the Thursday's War) and Human politics after the war (how the UNSC, UEG, and the human race would function, mainly how the UEG survived after the war). <--- This can be placed on waypoint if needed as maybe terminals in halo 5. Finally, can u tell how The arbiter kept the covenant together if he does (in either karen traviss' new book or in halo 5) and please, please, please put the arbiter in halo 5 as hopefully an ally, but if not at least an enemy (and maybe we can play as im but thats too good to be true). If anyone has any thing else they would like to add just reply and put what u want in halo 5. Maybe with enough replies or views 343 would be persuaded to put in reasonable things that the community asks for. P.S. 343 Since i am a hardcore halo fan i would love to have these things in halo, i would still play halo if u don't. Good luck with the journey, I will be there the whole time supporting you guys. I dont mean that the AR's need more power !! and yes, i have posted this before in other place. what i want to say is that the automatic guns are only "noob " weapons because the prograimers want it that way. what gain the peple who uses the AR´s ??, be called "noob", gain lots of asisst medals ??, be easily stolen by the scoped guns after break ennemy shield´s and be in the middle of the action, always need to be moving in certain places of the map because his range is too specific, close range: boltshot and plasmas, mediun range: dmr and br. long range: all the zoomed guns. againist the machine, you are in the range of all his guns, granades and melee. with aim guns there is no problem, 1 or 2 shots in the minors and nore work on the big ones, all from a safety place. but with ARs what you get ? spend 1/2 of the cartridge in a single grunt or jackal, be in constant danger of the granades and other weapons and as usualy, end using your magnum or other guns. the weapon tuning and the forge maps added make clear one thing, that this gona never change, halo is a game of scoped guns and the AR will be the noob gun forever. so i dont care about the multiplayer, The AR´s dont need more power, they need aim and because of that reduce even more the magnetism, that will make it a gun who need more skill and with more range if someone know how to use it. but what i really want is use it in campaign and S. OPS. its a kind of joke, there is 3 kinds of grunts, 3 of jackals and 3 of crawler. all stronger than the last one, but guess what, !! all are the same ennemy for the precicion weapons, there are just harder ennemies for the AR´s !!. thats unfair and ilogical, you need to be verry close to use it and is weaker than a pistol, 16 bullets is a waste of ammo if you can kill it by just a single one (if you play in s.ops online your teammates with br get all the kills, ant the half of the deaths)??. the only thing i want for the next halo is that the AR´s had some kind of "critical demage" if the gun is shooted to the head !, 4 or 5 shoots to the head must be enough to kill an unshielded ennemy, i dont get why this guns make exactly the same demage on the head or in the foot ?, think abut this, the casual player still will need 16 bullets to kill, but the experiences one just need to use short and controled burst to kill even at a considerably distance, the AR´s will not had the power at distance and kill-speed as the dmr but it can defend from snipers, the tough ennemies can be killed by 1 gun of br but if the AR player know how to shoot he can beat down almost as easily if he know how to play, in multiplayer this will change nothing, the br-dmr domain will be intact (i dont thik that some one try to snipe with an AR ??). so thats the only thing i want in halo 5 for the assault rifles, if you shoot wisely here in halo 4, the ar got a verry good aim but is wasted, make it a training for new players of how to play with Accuracy an the ones who play with that a usefull weapon to beat the covenant and prometeans. the multiplayer will keep being the same but at least i can ejoy an automatic gun in campaign if i know how to use it. thanks for read.
  16. Halo 5 wish list and ideas this topic will be seperated into sections Forge Ideas I have some prett good idea's (atleast in my opinon) for forge. Forge Dimensional veiwer This is an option that must me selected before the game starts or by pressing start during game. Lets take "Sandtrap" for a example. When I go and select it It gives me a list on how the world may be veiwed. like for example "Desert" when you select it it will either change all the texture's to be worn down or like how it looks right now. you can select Wasteland or Hotsprings and it will change it to a snow dessert place (Like all the sand to tundra and structure's to a crystal ice Land pockets i'm going to shorten this becuase I acccadently lost all data but in thisit is like making regular forge objects. This create's a small peice of land like the grid and puts some shrubs on top of if it is a forest of plains area. These reflect the maps theme. On the bottom is is dirt. These may have to be limmited. Add some smaller details! Dont get me wrong I love building big structure's but sometimes they seem empty. Halo 4 did a good job on helping with details like dominoin but lets have some more like wooden crate's ect. Add some sort of working door system I am probably not the only one but when I place a door I might actually wnat it to be there not just a wide gap. I wouldent use these in online exept in Zombie game type. I dont care if you put in a small tiny sheild in it just do something with it! Game Type's 1. In zombei's you could have a specail map that you could either place wide open doors to working openable ones. When you first start you are spawned in a spawn room in two group's. to get them to exit the room and explor the map we will make it extremly easy for zombei's to enter in. for example a tunnle way up high in the room where they cannot get into but only out. the doors would have a small terminal beside them. To acces the door you will need to use this. press x and it will open. Misc 1. Add a HUMAN flying vehicle This thread will update when I think of more idea's

Hey Halo fans My idea is that in your spartan customization you should have the option to choose from select spartan II and Spartan III armor (helmet and armor) -Halo 3 (spartan IIs) Mark V Mark VI Rogue EOD (my favorite) Hayabusa (whatever happened to this one? One of the coolest) -Halo Reach (spartan IIIs)-Helmets only because some of the other pieces werent that great ODST -Helmet and armor HAZOP (Reach style) Commando-Helmet EOD (Reach style) Grenedier Scout (Reach style) I think it looks better than the scout helmet seen in both Halo 3 and 4 I also think that they should put skulls back to when you had to find them. I liked going in campaign and doing that. Or maybe they could do it so you can use them but there are achievements for finding all of them (it would also be nice to get armor pieces for finding them all) Please leave some feedback if this would be a Yay or Nay in Halo 5 or just comment -Solamander
  18. I have always thought of gameplay mechanics for games, and things to break particular problems to make games better, and because I love halo so much... I have decided to write out a LONG suggestion paper on all the things that I THINK would improve halo in future generations. note: sorry for my horrid spelling/grammar.. try as hard as you can to read this please ===================================================================================== SPARTAN IV ARMOR SYSTEMS ===================================================================================== one of the most frustrating things to me about multiplayer in any halo game is loosing battles purely because of being outnumbered, this made me think about something that could solve this problem. as some of you might know, in the real world there are materials and liquids that resist more and harden more when more force is applied. My thought is, if more then 1 player is shooting at you at once, your armor should harden causing more resistance when multiple players are shooting you at once. also players should slow down more by the amount of players shooting at them. It would not be a significant resistance, obviously players should die faster when they are shot at by multiple players at once, but still as an example: a player would normally take x1 damage by 1 player shooting at them, and move 80% normal speed a player would resist x1.5 damage when being shot at by 2 players, and move 60% normal speed a player would resist x2 damage when being shot at by 3 players, and move 40% normal speed a player would resist x2.5 damage when being shot at by 4 players or more players, and move 20% normal speed. also maybe have a perk or specialization to make it so you move less slowly when being shot by multiple players at once. this could also maybe tie into the story sense Dr.Halsey is back, maybe she helped with the improvement of the UNSC SPARTAN IV project ===================================================================================== NEW WEAPON IDEAS: ===================================================================================== I also had a few other ideas for weapons that could be added to give more options. - Scoped SMG: would take the place of a secondary and would be similar to the scoped SMG from halo:ODST - needle rifle: bring this back from halo reach, could basically be a more long range version of the carbine. - classic plasma rifle: yes, I am aware that there is the storm rifle in halo4, but this would be similar to halo:reach's plasma rifle, and would serve as a secondary weapon. - new forerunner rifle: this would take the place as a weapon that would do less damage then any other primary weapon, but would slightly break through the armor idea I came up with above, making it a great team player weapon. ===================================================================================== NEW AI IDEAS: ===================================================================================== I have far too many ideas for AI, so, Im just going to cram all this together...sorry for my crappy organization skills. the AI have a lack of human intelligence, or adaptability. if one covenant is being singled out, the others should defend that one and that one should move toward cover. all AI should shoot at a MUCH faster pace and be less accurate when the player is closer, and be more accurate and shoot much slower when the player is further away. some AI have been seen walking into walls in place, so they need to detect the environment around them a bit more. grunts are far to accurate and run away to much, jackals should be the most accurate due to the fact that they are covenant snipers. jackals and grunts should also back up when the player gets near them, sense they are much smaller. hunters should shoot players at a much further range, because you can just stand back and shoot at them from afar on halo 4. hunters should also be sensitive about their backs because thats were they are exposed, when the player is behind them they should rotate. they also should go berserk when they see another hunter die, like in halo 3, 2, and 1. watchers should shoot a bit more when they are shot at, knights should move to cover or closer depending on the players range, and should be almost impossible to sneak up on unless they are distracted. knights should also teleport behind cover, and not just teleport in the middle of the field. crawlers should rush from as many angles as possible, and see and hear you very easily. elites need to be much more sneaky when they have a sword, because when they are running in front of all their team with a giant glowing sword they are basically saying "hey look at me!" and then die very quickly. in fact, I have yet to even been killed by a sword elite. I also know the AI has the ability to not only see the enemy, they can hear the enemy as well, they should hear the player less when there is lots of gunfire, and even less when gunfire is closer (for example one player could sneak while the other shoots at them to break hearing.) ===================================================================================== Thanks 343 for halo 4, keep making great games and I will be a guaranteed customer. -PS I am 17 and unemployed, would gladly take a job.

In my personal opinion I would like to add to Halo 5 what was taken out in Halo 4 and Halo Reach: -I think dual wielding is a must have but it isn't all to overpowered because it takes the grenade and melee ability -The Falcon and the hornet should be added seeing that there is only one flying vehicle available. There also should be a brand new Covenant air vehicle and a Forerunner one as well add the revelent and some brute vehicles -Bring back the ability to be an elite -firefight 2.0 add more options and wave system add in all 3 flood promethians and elites and do things such as like unlock buildings in game to expand and earn special guns and vehicles to survive -add more guns many were taken out and pretty much people used 3 of the primaries the dmr br and assault rifle -bring back the elephant into multiplayer and other things to the maps that can be used in the background - add more recreated map and newly idead map so Exile a Ragnarock arent used every time and add life to the maps so they aren't dead and expand the maps - add the racing mode back in forge and more add ins -make the armor more distinct because other than the head everything was identical -add more weekly challenges and a way of keeping the player addicted to matchmaking such as exclusives for higher level and groups that take over after level 50 -longer campaign and add where master chief visits a uninhabited planet but brute remains are left and you could use all they had like vehicles and weapons

I have been following Halo since I started playing HALO:CE so I decided to post 2 stuff me and 2 other friends want in Halo 5. 1.Choices in campaign We would like 343i to add choices in the campaign. Exampel: Chief is being possesed by some forerunner power and has to choose if he is to go easy and do as the forerunner say's or if he is going to fight for what's right. I know people will say it won't work because that would change the storyline but keep reading and you will hopefully understand how it would work. If you choose what's right you complete the "actuall" campaign, but if you choose the easy/bad stuff you will get an alternate/legendary ending. It would also help marketing because people want to know what happens next, so they will buy the next game being Halo 6 (if they do not add games that don't follow the reclaimer trilogy). 2.Forerunners We know the prometheans,we have heard about the forerunners, but have we ever got to fight alongside/against them? no! We would like to see some sort of twist in the campaign where chief and arby come to earth and see it's totally destroyed, so obviously they will think it is either the covenant or the promethean's but it turns out to be the last 30 - 40 forerunner's using they're extreme tech to attack earth because they could see progress in they're technology that threatened the forerunners.

Hello,my name is Tom and I love forge world me and my bro create base's at each end of the map and fight each other all ask for is that we could have fellow spartan 4 s with us fighting the other player or if we could be flood or elites and have either of them fighting us or we both have spartan 4s on our team shooting the other Spartan 4 s and for the Npc's to get in a vehicle with us and kill other Npc's , I realise that the pathing will be hard but I'm sure you'll do something because I would love to make some stand still and guard my base please put this in halo 5 and please share this around 343 thank you
  22. Why doesn't 343 industries make the forge interesting by making a Forge planet.... Features of this . All the halo maps in past and current are in this planet . U can fly into space . Forge world inc . Place able AI ( like grunts, marines, spartens, brutes ,jackals etc) . All vehricals are placeable inc pelican' phantom, lichs and others . Able to place UNSC and Covenant ships as scenery . Elites are able to be used by player . Able to use a flat world in some area of the planet . Also the Planet would update when new DLC has been downloaded . No money limit . Objects such as: Tv's, computers radios turrents, tube lights etc are placable Add more ideas if any
