  2. Sword Base is one of those maps that people seem to either love, or hate with a fiery passion. I would put myself in the former category. I personally have very fond memories of Swat (and even Infection) on Sword Base. Did the combat seem to centralize in one corner of the map? Yes. But just because everybody else is there doesn't mean you can't pull a roundabout tactic to catch them off guard! You could call a typical match on Sword Base one of "Occupy and Defend", which for some like myself can be quite a lot of fun! A word of advice: If you know their in the "lift room", for heaven's sake, don't go up the lift. Gamertag: KarmaPolice07 Map Name: Claymore Gametypes: Currenly only Team Slayer/Swat (up to 5v5) and FFA (Also: Fruity & Frosted) Description: Version 1.5 "After proving its resilience on Reach, this design has been used for several ONI bases across the known galaxy." Claymore is a painstakingly orchestrated re-creation of Halo: Reach Sword Base. On November 8th, 2012 I started this project by taking a few specific measurements in the original Sword Base using Hill Markers. I chose Hill Markers because they have invisible boundaries that can be manipulated in the same measurement scale and degrees as all forgable objects. With this data I began construction in Halo 4 and chose to make estimations and extrapolations to finish construction. Over the past few months I have made tweeks and adjustments to this map for the sake of accuracy and efficient use of Forge budget. I even broke the lighting engine at one point! I was able to resolve the issue and lighting now works properly. In this process I have continued to examine the original map to ensure the closest possible accuracy in recreation. I have now reached a point where I am prepared to display Claymore for public access and feedback. This is Version 1.5 - What I consider to be the beta. The map is complete in its basic form. All structure pieces are in place as well as all requirements for Slayer gametypes. However, there are areas that are still not up to par in terms of closest accuracy. These are listed below, under the heading "Known Issues & Future Updates". Weapons: At the time of this writing, weapons and their placement on the map are identical to Reach with the appropriate substitutions (Needle Rifle is now Carbine, Plasma Repeater is now Storm Rifle, Grenade Launcher now Sticky Detonator). However, because of the differences in the way some weapons perform (*cough*NEEDLER) I will be reorganizing the weapon placements and possibly the selection of weapons in a future version. Gametype details: -10 player maximum -Red and Blue team Spawns for up to 5v5 -FFA spawns throughout the map Known Issues & Future Updates: -Most notably, the glass floor in the top "red" room is now opaque. All glass options I've attempted so far have a negative effect player mobility. -The room with the Sword is a little out of scale -Lower right side room (the one on the same level as the bottom of the yellow lift, where there's a "briefing" area) is in need of reconstruction and is currently the least accurate room in the building. -Gametypes I plan to add in the future are: KotH, Oddball, & Flood Because of real life I am only able to work on improving this map about once a week. SINISTER DEATHMATCH GT: PURIENCE Map Name: SINISTER DEATHMATCH Gametype: SLAYER (16 Player Free For All) Map: RAVINE Equipment: Any Description: Blanketing the calm blue sea, a menacing giant "foam-green" colored Sinister greets all who dare dwell atop of his "madness inspired", slanted & downward built, straight into the HALO's oceanic Abyss, palace of chaos. Twisted Mongoose tunnels & cracks to adventure into, four distant teleporters relocating when needed, balanced with torque-infused gravity lifts, sometimes leading to death..if not directed in-flight correctly. The castle wall standing hundreds of feet tall is draped in violet with silver glistening walls douced in glory and an "open invitation" effect (juicy), to explore. Spiraling staircases lead to powerful weapons within the great tower wall, and a "camouflage-zone" hides all who enter if stood still and watchful...black widow creating her web of entanglement indeed. Many times players want to play a few customs, but without the hassle of setting up an event and such. This thread is to be used as a one stop solution to on the fly matchmaking. We will also feature main events in which you can PM me to add.   9. Map Name is Contra v2 GT Is JLAxxSPARTAN116 The map works great for Team Slayer and CTF and I recommend you use the MLG v1 variants. It is completely symmetrical and very competitive so check it out and give me some feedback Hope to hear from y'all soon!! Update #1 -Changed rocket for incendiary and swapped sides with sniper. So now sniper is on top green while incendiary is on rock formation. Update #2 -Removed man cannons. -Removed some of the natural rocks to have better line if sights. -Switched Incendiary back for rockets. -Added more asthetics. GT: PURIENCE Map Name: GRAVEYARD DEATHMATCH Gametype: SLAYER (16 Player Free For All) Map: IMPACT (Big) Equipment: Jetpack(tricky levels), Saw, DMR(huge map), Plasma Grenades, Mobility(for rough hills), Super Sensors(plenty of coverage from terrain) "Tons of Weapons & Vehicles on map" "Teleporters everywhere" "Drive carefully...off-road mountain range" "Shoot sheilds for treasure" Description: The HALO graveyard for the fallen hero's who are now governed by the demon machine who haunts their souls for eternity on a desolate meteor drifting in space. A gigantic glass wall stands next to twisting rock bridges which help navigate over the deep cracks in the ground to the west, while towering colored structures and a gold base hold difficult challenges and many surprises to the east. Atop the highest cliff to the north sits the Lord of Pain overseeing all with his spidery arms and chest encasing several purple teleporter shafts with lighting lifts transporting to the main ship hovering in space to the south.
  11. GT: PURIENCE Name: G.I. JOE DEATHMATCH Gametype: SLAYER (4-16) Free For All Map: RAVINE (Big Map) Equipment: Jetpack, Saw, DMR, Plasma Grenades, Mobility, Super Sensors Description: The G.I. Joe headquarters nicknamed the "Silver Fox" base dominates this battlefield. Cobra has infiltrated however planting it's "Lava" base to the far west. All vehicles and weapons (Banshee & Tank) are present, and a floating airbase hovers above the cliffs. Grassland warfare with rich colored scenery & giant red wall barriers will bring endless amounts of vivid carnage.

GT: PURIENCE Map Name: DR DOOM DEATHMATCH Gametype: SLAYER (16 Player Free For All) Map: EROSION (Big) Equipment: Jetpack(huge map), Saw, DMR, Plasma Grenades, Mobility(for rough hills), Super Sensors(plenty of coverage from terrain) Description: Dwelling in a green plasma cavern hundreds of feet below the ground, is the lair of Dr. Doom. His throne overlooking the pipes and 0-gravity hallways lit up by the constant flow of mystical forces that feed the evil villain with pure power.

All vehicles and weapons are found throughout and numerous gravity lifts thrust you to every crater.

Since this seems like an official site of 343i (apart from waypoint), I thought I would just ask, I know it's the lead up to christmas and all, but what is the news on how the playlists are being affected and when the full playlists will be implemented? I've heard that they will be up in time, but has any sort of a timescale been set to do this? I don't think it's just me who wants to know this, i'm sure other community members are keen to find out when that little bit of something extra in matchmaking is going to be added, making this already awesome game, perfect (popular classic gametypes, map rotation etc.). I also think that there has been a lot of input from the community about this sort of stuff and yeah, it's a great game and I realise it hasn't been out for long, but I can't help but wonder if 343i will take up the role that bungie left with as much enthusiasm towards the concerns of the community as bungie originally did. Anyone hear what i'm saying?
  16. Okay, so these two maps are two attempts at building the same thing (i.e. a space station), the first attempt having fallen short of my initial vision. Both maps are symmetrical. I named the failed attempt Derelict and decided to finish it enough to be played in slayer (no objectives), compensating for the map's inadequacies by giving the whole thing a trait zone enabling double jump and half gravity (and quarter fall damage), removing the glass from all over to allow for the outside of the station to become part of the playable area of the map, and threw down a whole bunch of heavy weapons (none of which was intended at first). My second attempt is named Observatory and definitely lived up to my vision (albeit barely, 9,970 spent and I already hit the unwritten limit on total objects, and I had to go back repeatedly swapping decorative pieces for less expensive substitutes, not to mention delete a whole bunch of spawn points). The map is enabled for 4-16 players (Red, Blue, Gold and Green teams) on Capture the Flag, King of the Hill, Free for All, Flood, and Oddball. It has multiple levels in the middle with a pair of heavy weapons (Railguns, Scattershots and Concussion Rifles, in that order from top to bottom) on each of the lower 3 levels (4 total). The docking ring of the station connects to the 2nd level of the mid-section (2 levels above, 1 below). Sections are colored by quadrant to assist in navigation (internal walls are colored specifically to indicate which path leads to which quadrant, outer walls are colored accordingly with the color of the quadrant in which they reside).
  17. I really like the idea behind the Regicide game type, but I feel like there are almost not advantages to being the king. If you are king for a long time, meaning that you have been doing really well, other players get 35 points for killing you. I understand the idea, but since the king has a marker over their head, everyone is going after the king so whoever kills the king could very well just headshot them after someone else does all the work. Someone who "steals" a king kill from someones else doesn't deserve 35 points (or whatever the bounty is at the time). Also, attempting to remain king for a long period of time actually works against you, because if you have worked hard to get 2-3 kills ahead of someone else, they only have to kill you once to catch back up. It is almost a better strategy to die on purpose before your bounty gets too high. Another thing: by having the marker over the king's head, everyone goes after the king. This is a refreshing twist that prevents camping, but when you are the king you have to try and defend yourself from about 2-3 people at the same time. This would be fine, but it takes far too long to get any bonuses for being the king. It seems to take **forever** to get an overshield, and the overshield goes down on its own without anyone even shooting you. The overshield also does not give you much of an advantage at all because when 2-3 people are shooting at you that overshield is gone almost immediately. To recap, the things I would prefer to have changed are (not necessarily all, as changing one may nullify the need to another change): *** Remove or reduce king bounties *** Maybe implement splitting up the king bounty among players who dealt damage to the king (for someone who does 50% damage and someone steals the kill they get 50% of the bounty) *** Give the king better perks/power-ups more often. Overshield isn't that great and it takes forever to get reign of terror. Maybe getting a regular overshield in like 75% of the time it currently takes to get one, an overshield and reign of terror at 150-175% of the time it currently takes to get an overshield, etc. and so on.
  18. I'm not demanding that we remove Regicide, but where is the old FFA? One where we're all on an even playing field. I'm not sure how to upload my video, but it's on my file share, the only one that's a video. I get 29 kills and am killed just before the end by someone who I think is on 16 kills. He wins. Now, don't get me wrong, I like the idea, but when he can win simply by killing me all the time because I was king for pretty much the entire match, it gets really annoying. FYI, I won't be playing Regicide again unless it's fixed. I'm going back to Team Slayer.

  20. Regicide on Adrift. I barely won with 30 kills. The 2nd place player was 15 points away from winning, and ONLY HAD 17 KILLS. I sense a problem. First off, what was wrong with plain Free For All? If it ain't broken, don't fix it. Trying to be "innovative"? I (and most of the community) would prefer balance and fun gamemodes instead, thank you. There is absolutely no balance. The state of the game is people purposefully trying not to gain the lead, but make a run for it in the very end, hoping the king is going to be handed to them on a platter instead of the other 3 or 4 runner-ups. That is called pure luck; no matter how much skill you have, it does not matter. Welcome to Regicide, the ugly beast that arose out of the corpse of our beloved FFA.
