Anyway let's get into it: Primary Announcement: Here's some incredibly interesting statistics about the site over a month's time: Did you know 8,477 posts have been made from February 8th to March 8th? Did you know that in that time we had 1,740 new members register? This site is growing exponentially and that's just a small example of it. NEW MODERATOR Well there's finally been a proper announcement thread posted for our newest Community Moderator RedStarRocket91! Not only was there a change in the Moderating Team, but there has also been a change in Moderating color. It went from this to this. Much easier on the eyes. NEW LEGENDARY MEMBER "In the pattern set by Spectral Jester about retired staff members who have given greatly to our community, Quantum has been added to the ranks of 'Legendary' members. Quantum joined us long ago simply searching for information about Halo. He had no XBL and just wanted to be part of the community of Halo and do what he could to help us be what we were, what we are. He, within days of joining, came forward and offered to create signatures for the site since EGYPTIANGHETTO had taken a leave of absence. He was working with simple art soft ware and doing a bang up job for us. He was liked by all who met him and soon became a well known and daily member of the site. He continued his membership and assistance for the community and soon rose to the Face Book page. I was a personal fan of his selfless desire to always help out, never wanting anything in return. He was a prime example of quality membership. His departure and reasons for it were an eye opener to some, a noted and growing feeling by others. Find it here: Wrapup within a Wrapup PLAY DATES Reach Play Date The Community Reach Play Date takes place every second weekend of the month. This week's had an alright turn out, we had a 7 person party max which is better than the last Reach Play Date . We had a good time though we went into Forge and spawned things and killed each other in a Forge fight, and then we went into matchmaking skumm had to resort to some sort of outlandish cheating to beat us. Overall we had a good time even if it was pretty short. Skumm hosted a little bit and we played a fun game of Ro Sham Bo Jr. where our Spartans were modded to be smaller but our weapons were the same size and that got laughs out of everyone. We played Drag Race and Minotaur and we even did some regular Infinity Slayer which was nice. DESTINY Legends of the gaming industry, Bungie, launched their ARG, or Alternate Reality Game, for their upcoming title: Destiny. The ARG requires fans to attend alphalupi.bungie.net where they input geomantic symbols that unlock encrypted pictures that started blurry. The pictures increase in clarity with the increase in people that frequent the site. Each picture unlocks poems that supposedly leave hints to the game Destiny by Bungie but who can say what they really refer to in the game? Find Adamj's thread on the Destiny ARG here. Featured Map Here's a map that caught my eye in our Forge forums. The map is called Dusk and was Forged by a member named @Yama. His map is very aesthetically pleasing and aims to be ideal for 1v1s and 2v2s. I'd love to provide a screenshot of the map but for some reason I'm just not able to copy and paste a picture nor use the media BBCode for it. *cough Choot 'em help me cough cough* I immediately knew this would be a good map when I saw that THFE's Psychoduck posted the last comment really thanking Yama for the time and information he provided. QUILT QUALIFYING PLAY DATE Halo 3 Play Date Much better turn out with the Halo 3 Play Date than last week's Reach Play Date. We started off with some matchmaking then went into some custom games. We played Slayer mostly but we also played some objectives like One Flag, Juggernaut, and Territories. There was a good amount of lag to no one's surprise but that wasn't going to make us quit a game that we all love. All in all it was a good time. If you weren't there you missed out. You can be the judge of whether that's good or not haha. CRAZY GRUNT'S RIDDLE CHALLENGE The Crazy Grunt's Riddle Challenge is a humorous and brain stimulating forum game. One person comes up with a Halo related riddle and then the rest of the participants have to solve that riddle and the one who gets the right answer wins the point. The rule is that each player gets one guess per post and waits for the riddler to respond to whether they were right or wrong before they can post again. The score to win has varied over the 4 rounds but this round players have to solve 10 riddles to get the prize: The Riddler Award Round 4 has just begun. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM), also referred to in America as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM), is an annual international health campaign organized by major breast cancer charities every October to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure. The campaign also offers information and support to those affected by breast cancer. As well as providing a platform for breast cancer charities to raise awareness of their work and of the disease, BCAM is also a prime opportunity to remind women to be breast aware for earlier detection.
