  1. Team doubles will be added to Halo 4's multiplayer next week and it will include 3 team doubles gametypes which is Infinity team doubles, team doubles pro and CTF team doubles. Read below for more details Credit to Sykowolf for finding this. This article is from Gamesptot. The first is Infinity Doubles, which lets players choose a custom loadout and allows for instant respawn and use of radar. Ordnances will become active at the traditional 70-point mark, but options are adjusted specifically for Team Doubles, 343 said. Games are played to 300 points. Doubles Pro features preset game loadouts (available at the 343 website) and the score limit is the same as above. However, radar, personal ordnance, and instant respawn are toggled off. Third, CTF Doubles is a customized version of the Capture the Flag game mode for teams of two. Custom loadouts and radar are enabled and respawn timers are set to 10 seconds. Flag locations have been tweaked, 343 said, to "provide an optimal experience for small maps and teams." Rules of the game are: five flags to win, three-second return, and 15-second rest. In addition, gamers do not need to have their flag home to score. A finalized map pool is still being worked on, though 343 said modified versions of Haven, Abandon, and Solace will be included, as well as some Forge-made maps. In addition to announcing and detailing Halo 4's new Team Doubles playlist, 343 also revealed two new specializations will be added to the mix next week. They are Rogue and Tracker. More details are available on the 343 website. Also on tap for Halo 4 in February is the game's next multiplayer map pack. The Majestic expansion adds new environments Landfall, Monolith, and Skyline to the mix.

  4. Whether or not they plan to bring her back in some way, I have no idea. But if they don't, then they have really screwed the series up for good. Even if they give him a replacement AI or give him a another copy of Cortana, it won't be her. Its pretty sad 343i had to kill off a major character to get people talkng about this game. Glad I only paid $27 for this crap. Thanks for screwing up a storyline I've loved for years 343i, YOU SUCK!!!!
  5. I seriously hope that 343i dosent take most of the suggestions from the community, because most of the suggestions would ruin the game or throw off the balance of the game.
  6. Am I the only one who really really misses the close quarter, fast paced, Assualt Rifle games? like in halo 3. I feel like Halo 4 multiplayer is all about who gets the first DMR shot first or who misses the first couple of DMR shots. DMRs DMRs DMRs. I think it was way more balanced in Halo 3. I should never EVER be raging on halo. I probably sound like one of those punks that gets mad everytime I die, but no, that's not it. I'm not one of those extra hardcore MLG players that are so serious, but I do rage on Halo 4 every once in a while. Halo 4 is the only halo that has made me angry over multiplayer. COD is the only game you should rage on. These ordinance things, tactical packages/perks or whatever.. it's just not halo man. Campaign was incredibly awesome. It's just the multiplayer. I seriously don't even give to ****s about online anymore. I'm just overly excited for Halo 5's single player mode. Bungie was different. Both multiplayer and single player was just incredibly enjoyable. Does anyone feel the same about this? hmph... stupid DMRs
  7. Many people, myself included had a huge hype for the release of Halo 4. If only then I knew what I had known now I could have saved myself $60 and a trip to a midnight release. Before flaming immediately after seeing the title, please, at least here me out. Flashback to November, 15, 2011. Microsoft and 343i had just released its first Halo game (with 343i being a separate company, respectively). Halo: CEA was released in North America and was sold on the shelves for a mere $40. But the price had nothing on game itself, right? The original Halo, just with better graphics and sound quality. Sounded great to me. But as a gamer, I wouldn't be doing my job if I hadn't poked out the flaws. And please, let me take a minute to explain. Hating and nitpicking flaws are COMPLETELY different. Don't know the difference? Google it. Back to the matter at hand. I remember playing the first Halo as a kid, I only played at my cousins place, because my parents had refused to buy me an Xbox (they thought the games were too violent, so I showed them Madhouse on the Wii when it came out years later). Nonetheless, I went from Banjo Kazooie, Mario 64, and the LoZ series (which are GREAT games, by the way) to shooting my way through any situation I saw fit. Halo ALONE stood above as the mighty grandeur of most of my gaming experiences. This led on to me playing Halo 3, CoD 4 and WaW (I did play Halo 2, just not online). All of which I highly regard to as great games to a modern era. You know what all of these games have in common? If you guessed 'A player progression system' then step up to get your prize. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING could compare to the feeling that I got once I hit General in Halo 3 or when I prestiged in CoD 4. I just had this sense of accomplishment where I knew that I had something that few people had. I don't really remember CE having any online capabilities (I may be wrong), but I do know it had Custom Games. CEA; however, failed to deliver an online experience, let alone Custom Games. To save myself a few words, I'll say this: The same can be said for Halo 4. Like I previously stated, I enjoy ranking up and proving my worth, which would explain why I love games like WoW and GW2. I'm getting sidetracked. Now onto Halo 4, or should I say the burden of my Halo experience. Flashforward to November 6, 2012. I'm standing in a line at Gamestop waiting to get my copy of Halo 4. Line number, 122. Not too bad I guess. After driving home and changing my pants, I popped Halo 4 into the disc tray of my 360 and ran it from the dashboard. Let's start with the Campaign. I played this first as it is simply my tradition to experience the story line before anything else. Let me be the first to say, HOLY MOTHER OF GOD this was purely amazing! Campaign was probably my favorite aspect, I beat it twice. Once to test the waters and a second time for Legendary Solo. Only I have a few problems. 343, to my dismay had lied in saying that Halo 4's legendary mode would be the hardest yet. I beat it; solo, mind you, in less than a day. I'm not that great at Campaign, especially Halo. I expected this to make me break a controller, not sit through in boredom as the derpy AI wandered around like nothing happened after I clearly assassinated a Promethean Knight. On the plus side, being able to see a little bit of Master Chief's face was MORE than promising. The game felt like a Sci-Fi shooter, like it should. However, this shouldn't give 343 the right to take the humor out of Halo. Even playing through the entire Campaign with IWHBYD on, I found no humorous remarks from the Covenant (I expected no real humor out of the Prometheans, mind you). Just growling most of the time. I also find myself running out of ammunition when it's most needed. Anyway, enough with Campaign (I gave it a 9/10). Onto the prominent Spartan Ops. A replacement for the classic Firefight experience, you play as the infamous Crimson team while playing through multiple missions, each with their own chapters and objectives. It's an interesting change; however, I would like to have seen a separate custom loadouts for Spartan Ops. Having to change constantly for Spartan Ops and War Games is a chore that should never have to be done. Here's an idea, have different roles for Spartan Ops. Each loadout would express a different role that could be fulfilled be the player. Heavy Weapons, Assault, Sniper, etc. Just a suggestion, of course. Now, herein lies the problem with Spartan Ops. The connectivity between players feels like the Ethernet cords were replaced with licorice. I can connect (with full bars, err, green bar, rather) to people when in Custom Games or Forge, and still lag like crazy when in Spartan Ops. It's like I'm being forced to play on LAN to enjoy the experience. With about a year in Computer Networking and mostly logical thinking, it can only be 343's servers that fail to support anything. Replaying the same map for missions can be a bit annoying too, unless it's like Mission 4 (or 5, I can't really remember) where you're on Ragnarok for 2-3 chapters and it actually follows a decent story pattern to it. War Games. Matchmaking for any fellow Halo vets. I could go on about this for ages, but to sum it up, I hate it. I hate the fact that I HAVE to hate it. This shouldn't exist, and I feel like it's a monstrosity to the competitiveness Halo used to bring. Whine and cry about Reach as it may be, but at least Reach could support an MLG playlist. Or any playlist for that matter. Halo 2, from what I've collected, had a Clan Battle playlist. That's perfect for clans who want to warm up before a GB match or something. For weapons, one precision weapon for UNSC is fine enough, thank you. Not two, is that concept so difficult to understand? Was 343 even thinking about the competitive community? Probably not. Reach brought about the concept of Armor Abilities, which most people hated. Any hate was usually directed for only one reason in particular, Armor Lock. Personally, I always used Sprint. I like to get to objectives and places around the map quickly. AA's were the only thing that really put someone at an edge over the other player (not including weapons, of course. I'm just talking about the traits at spawn). Now, in response to this, Halo 4 added not only Armor Abilities (which I find myself almost never using,) but perks as well. Perks? PERKS? Are you serious 343? If War Games had a CoD label on it, it would be the most balanced CoD out on the market (certainly better than BO:II). But why put a Halo label on this? Spawning with the same thing as everyone else had was just fine. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy change as much as the next guy. Repeating a similar multiplayer pattern gets old and boring. But this is not the way to do it 343! If you want some change that's fine, but don't change the game mechanics! Team Slayer Pro has little to no player base, and changing loadouts simply shouldn't be in Halo. Look at Reach's response to Armor Abilities, it was horrible. And the addition of having everyone have sprint is absolutely fine, I in fact welcome it with open arms. This doesn't give 343 the right to add perks. If they wanted a perk system, they could have made slight, minuscule differences that had a slight impact on the game. Like maybe 105% movement speed, or maybe a slight increase in the duration of sprint, not unlimited. 2 primary weapons in a loadout? No. Get rid of it. Awareness? Leave this game. More grenades? Kill yourself. Increased Explosives radius and less damage received? (Insert sarcastic smile, obviously indicating anger here) Better yet, let's throw in a carbon copy of a CoD perk! Oh, what's it called? Sleight of Hand maybe? Yeah that's the one. 343, grow some originality, or at least fire your multiplayer development team, and make a multiplayer system that makes me not want to throw up. Finally, Forge (I'm not dealing with Theater, that failed after Halo 3 due to no multiplayer viewing options). Forge seems much worse than compared to in Reach. Dynamic lighting and magnets were all that 343 brought to the table as major changes to Forge. That's great, but provide no decent maps to forge on and the whole system falls apart. Not only is the Magnet system feel uncomfortable, but the Coordinate system feels odd too! And precision editing? Nope! Zooming in while in monitor mode? Ha! Nope! In terms of maps, Ravine is horrible. I can't find a place to put anything anywhere. The Promethean structure half shouldn't be there. The moon base is equally full of stupid-syndrome. I just want Forge World back. I'd rather have one large map to forge on rather than 3 dysfunctional maps with no real purpose. Custom Games just feels dull since 343 copied most of what made Reach's custom games a bit derpy. Like the Camo system. That ruined Ghostbusters, my favorite custom game in H3. The jump scares were really fun! Now it's just like "Oh, you're there.." I tried making a paintball-esque Custom Game in Halo 4. It was okay, but there were no good maps to play it on. Why take away the freedom, fun, and creativity from Halo? I forged quite a bit on both H3 and Reach. Both were decent in their own respects. Foundry. Am I right, or am I right? Sandbox was pretty cool, along with the other maps that had skulls on them. Nice touch, Bungie. Above all, I feel like Halo 4 fixed a few of the big mistakes but made a LOT of smaller ones in its path. Graphics only add to the overall atmosphere of a game. And I feel like 343 focused on only that. The appeal to the atmosphere, rather the gameplay. Reach had a sort of grunge look/feel to it. The dirty armor truly made me feel like a war torn Spartan. And that's what Halo is about, right? Hate on me if you will, I've come to accept that my opinion isn't very welcome. At least think of this: Are you defending this game so much because you like it, or because it simply says "Halo" on the cover? I am actually enthralled to hear someone else's opinion on this. I never really addressed my concern with Halo 4's ranking system. After hitting 50 and passing into your first specialization, it's easy to rank up until rank 5-6 of your specialization. It then follows a repeated pattern after hitting 60. Choose the specialization, it's easy then it gets really difficult. There's no sense in that at all. Just wanted to point that out.
  8. The Halo4 Forge is by all means an improvement over the previous Forges, but there is still room for improvement. I have started this post to list my own suggestions, and I encourage others to reply with his or her own suggestions and wishes. *Interlocking objects: Similar to locking individual objects, a new tool would allow forgers to link objects. This would allow multiple objects to be moved, duplicated or locked as a group. *Sphere object shape: *Multi-leveled forging: Forge should have a novice/beginner setup (such as it is currently) and an advanced/Experienced setting with much more complicated tools and functions for advanced users. *Man Cannons: Make one man cannon, but add a dial tool for adjusting the power more dynamically. *Inversion: A tool option that allows the user to mirror certain objects such as the ramped platform, buildings, etc. This would help forgers create much better symmetrical maps. *Skins/object color: Ability to add skins/textures to objects. There could be a distribution collection and a way for players to upload custom made textures. *Improve the magnet system to be more dynamic, or perhaps allow users to add magnet markers to objects. *Phased Doors: This object would allow forgers to add a door opening (variable sizes) cut into objects, such as blocks and coliseum walls/windows. *Elevator lifts *Light bridges: Similar to one sided shields, add light bridges to bridges/platforms. Perhaps it would be similar to setting length/width as it is with kill zones, etc? *Locking axis: Ability to lock certain aspects of the rotation axis to isolate specific object movements. *More buildings and expanded object inventory.
  9. Okay, so i saw the *cough* heavily disguised forge pieces in spartan ops, notably the latest season, where they're using actual multiplayer maps, and that sparked the idea for me, how would actual player forge work with it? spawning: -Specific spawn points for phantoms if you can use them, probably a specific piece... -different teams could act as different enemy classes (i counted, theres 7 different classes) --the enemies could be specified in their individual classes, using their game type tool... (ex: elite generals, jackal rangers, imperial grunts, etc...) -different objective are fairly easy, and for specific enemy spawns, you could use the objective tool again... -i think you sorta get the gist... the only problem i can foresee, although its not really of relevance, spartan ops wouldn't have a story on the forge side... upsides though, are seriously awesome. (also on a side note, this would probably be the first and best opportunity that 343i would have to have players create their own spartan ops, and possibly firefight maps....)
  10. Since this seems like an official site of 343i (apart from waypoint), I thought I would just ask, I know it's the lead up to christmas and all, but what is the news on how the playlists are being affected and when the full playlists will be implemented? I've heard that they will be up in time, but has any sort of a timescale been set to do this? I don't think it's just me who wants to know this, i'm sure other community members are keen to find out when that little bit of something extra in matchmaking is going to be added, making this already awesome game, perfect (popular classic gametypes, map rotation etc.). I also think that there has been a lot of input from the community about this sort of stuff and yeah, it's a great game and I realise it hasn't been out for long, but I can't help but wonder if 343i will take up the role that bungie left with as much enthusiasm towards the concerns of the community as bungie originally did. Anyone hear what i'm saying?
  11. hello guys its skout64 andi wanna know whats way you wanna see the halo 4 ending i might post 1 my self when i get an idea also this is my 2nd ever forum post on this site (just saying)anyways leave you ideas down below i will loock forword to them
  12. I was wondering if you could create an award what would it be? I would make a police guy when you get 911 posts.
  13. - 90% of all games are only between Complex, Adrift, Abandon and Haven, when there is 9 other maps on disc, plus the opportunity for 343i to atleast add Forge maps ffs. -SWAT is on rotation and 343i are removing it, even if it is temporary, that's dumb. -343i put so much effort into EXP banning people just for playing the game when they aren't boosting. -There isn't a system to boot people when they go AFK. -There's seemingly no 343i presence on these forums. -The DMR hasn't been balanced out. Just slightly lower its fire rate ffs. I'm beginning to think 343i doesn't care and are just map starving everyone to try and boost sales of the map packs. When you EXP ban your players, you are begging them to just play Black Ops 2. I'm not trying to sound arrogant or condescending, but a lot of Halo fans have been around longer than you 343i, you should tell Microsoft that sales will continue to be lackluster if they don't let you finish the game. A game is not ready for release when there are no maps, the playlists are a mess and you have to add in the ranking system post launch. I am mostly happy with Halo 4, these are just some problems I'm sure most of the community would like fixed. You aren't Bungie, you have to earn respect. Please read etc, but I doubt it.
  14. Okay I have the Wake-Up John Achievement and I beat the Halo 4 campaign with my Mates. Is there any reason why I didn't get the avatar award or is 343i too d*mn lazy to fix bugs instead of there playlists?
  15. Ok, this is pretty simple. Despite adding so much new content for Halo 4, there is still some stuff that I, and i'm sure many people would like to see return. This is just a simple list of what needs to return. Gamemodes Team Snipers- It's a gamemode that's been popular since Halo 3. I don't see a reason why it was taken out in the first place. SWAT/Grifball- Same as above. I know gamemodes of these exsist, it's just that they are not in multiplayer anymore exept for custom games. Juggernaut- It was just fun, ok? Headhunter- This is just a fun and frantic gamemode that also allowed for great forge maps, if one was creative. Infection- No, not Flood, Infection. Halo: Reach made Infection amazing with great maps, great camping spots, and having betrayal booting off for about half a year good times. Also, Magnums actually killed things. Game Options Only Host Can Edit In Forge- It made it so you could make a map with your friends and their friends still in the game. Otherwise, I can't have them join without losing half my work. Flood Options- Why can't Flood use weapons instead of weird...spear...things? It made it so things could be diverse and you could give them Plasma Pistols so if survivors drove in something, it wouldn't be cheap. Also, an option to make it so they were just seaweed green Spartans with Energy Swords like before would be nice. Vehicles Elephant- ANYONE who played Halo 3 knows why. ELephant are mobile bases of awsome with one of the best BTB maps ever. Falcon- Was I the only one who noticed only Banshees where in Halo 4? Falcons where fun to pick up and drive around people in without being too overpowered. That about covers it. So, what do you think? Should 343 add some of these things to the game? Or is Halo 4 fine as it is? Please comment below.
  16. From Friday (yesterday) until this morning (Saturday), I was playing with some friends. In Campaign mode, War Games and Spartan Ops. I started late yesterday, so I had no issues with the XP Cap until 11:30 PM or something like that. So I just wated for it to reset at 00:00. When it was resetted, I kept playing like before. Already at 2:00-2:30 AM this night I reached the XP Cap again (I believe it's around 75K Xp). Well, it's alright I guess. I'm not only playing for Xp, although it's nice to see progression except for kills and deaths. But then I noticed. I kept completing random challenges (different tiers), but after the matches was finished, there was no progression in my XP. This is ridiculous 343i! It's one thing to remove our ability to gain XP after a certain amount of playtime (75K +/- XP), but not letting us obtain the XP from Challenge Rewards... (facepalm ) I've completed alot of tier 3-4 challenges which would normally give me from 750xp to 2500xp per challenge, but I haven't gotten them. This also happened to me some days ago, but I just thought you'd get the XP Rewards afterwards, but no... Now I'm 2 games from the Weekly Challenge (117 War Games Completed). Knowing that I won't obtain the 17K XP from completing that Challenge makes me not want to play. 17K XP = 30 minutes of Spartan Ops (with a average team), or an hour with War Games. Seriously, think about it. Maybe fix it in the next Patch update? - Recon
  17. After playing the halo 4 campaign on legendary solo for about 6 hours and getting to shutdown, I was happy I was nearly finished and have the achievements and the Mark 6 armour. Though I came on halo today my campaign was reset back to the prologue, though when I look at my commendations, I have finished up to shutdown, it also reset my armour, load outs, season pass content and my rank by 3 ranks. Is there a source or resolution for this problem because I really can't be bothered to redo something I spent hours doing due to shoddy development. If anybody else has this problem please post.
  18. So, I am having this issue as are many others as described on Halo Waypoint, and nobody is acknowledging this issue. https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst130327_HALO-4-Sound-Problems-during-Cutscene-s.aspx Cutscene Sound Issue - During cutscenes, sound effects including music, ambient noise, and general sound effects sound muffled, like a low bitrate music file. - Dialogue and vocals tend to be unaffected. They play at lossless quality. - In game sound effects are unaffected. - Prerendered cutscene sound effects are unaffected. - In game engine cutscene sound effects are the only ones experiencing low bitrate qualities. This is a summary of the issue. I experienced the issue during ingame cutscenes with many sound effects and music tracks sounding muffled and like I was listening underwater, while the dialogue was crisp. The game itself had no issues but any time a cutscene occurred with the ingame graphics engine, everything sounded extremely low-fi. I am using an optical cable on a 250gb slim 360 with a Sony 5.1 receiver. I attempted with the game running from disc, installed to the hard drive, multiple reboots and experienced this from start to end in the campaign. This is not a minor issue as 343 advertised their sound production was going to be phenomenal, but I may as well have only had one speaker for these cutscenes because that's the sound quality I was given. Were the wrong files for the surround mix included on the disc? Is a patch in the works? Instead of enjoying the cutscenes, I could only cringe at the sound quality. Any and all information on this glaring issue would be very much appreciated.

    Hi 343i

I guess you could call this an introduction to the mistakes you made while making this game. I'm going to list them off and if you could reply to any of them it would be great and very much appreciated. 1. Not enough weapons on the map, now I'm not talking power weapons although I do feel as if their could be a few more power weapon drops on some maps I know that is what ordinance is for, what I'm talking about is DMR, BR, AR the main weapons you gave us too much choice in selecting our primary and secondary and because of this you couldn't compensate for the lack of ammo on the map, I find myself almost every game running out of DMR/BR ammo unless I have the ammo support upgrade. The problem with the ammo support upgrade is that give you double ammo in every weapon you pick up, have you seen someone go crazy with the sniper or rockets? it's a total game changer as it is, now imagine them with twice as much ammo. I know this works both ways but I'd rather it didn't go either. 2. Banshee on Ragnarok, it's a great idea for SOME game types but with game types like capture the flag it's too over powered, the spawn trap is crazy. I know it goes both ways but again I wish it didn't go either, what's fun about having someone in a vehicle doing flips and shooting bombs at you? Nothing? Exactly, so why out 5 people through torture fr one persons sick enjoyment, it's so hard to take down unless you can get into a vehicle yourself. This brings me to my next point. Spartan lazer, spawns once? Why? the Banshee and Mantis spawn more then once, so why not give us the people a chance to take them down more then the first time? I often find my self using 2 shots on the banshee each time if it's being piloted by someone with thumbs, that leaves one shot each for the Mantis, Ghost, Warthog and maybe a mongoose with a flag carrier, it just isn't enough. We need it to spawn more common, maybe a 90 seconds after the banshee and Mantis, as to give the people in vehicles a chance to get top control and to use them. 3.No god connection searching, I know you thought this would just sort it self out and the game has been designed to filter it automatically but trust me when I say this it doesn't filter it at all. I'm not the only person who feels this way either, you have 600+ more people over on Halo Waypoint complaining against it also. I know someone has to pull host and I'm not mad when people pull it over me when I'm searching alone but when I'm searching in a team of 5 and I find another person from my country on the other team putting it up too 6 people from my country in the game and then a foreigner still pulls host, I get a tad angry, it doesn't make sense, why it wouldn't give it too someone who can please the most people, I think a good connection search is really needed for competitive play, it's important for people to play other people from their country, it's good practice and helps you distinguish whether you lost legit to a better team, or if you lost because you just couldn't keep up with the lack of registry. I wont go into more detail on this topic as I'm sure you've read all the things posted on Waypoint and am sure you're trying your best to fix this, because if you don't I can see your community dying, as it was the only reason I played that sorry excuse of a game bungie released called Reach. 4. Joining mid game. Why? Their is a reason why the team is short on players, they quit because they were getting destroyed! So why put someone who is trying to have a fun time in a game like that, I understand it probably worked on your call of duty game but this isn't COD, we have shields it's not as simple for us to get out of a spawn trap, it doesn't take half a second of shooting someone to kill them and to get out of the trap you've spawned in to. Joining 20 kills down/4 flag caps down, again why? I recommend you put in a restriction, stopping you from joining after 210 seconds of playing, or if the game is 30% over, several times I've had this kind of stuff happen to me and as someone who really enjoys playing video games, this frustrates me to the point where I just turn the game off or quit straight away, maybe put in an option for people who want to join mid game and for people who don't mind the extra wait time finding a game they can. I honestly think it's great though being able to join your friends but with these modifications the game could be a lot better. I know/hope you're doing everything you can to fix these select few problems as I find they're the biggest and most important too making people happy, apart from the wall glitches but I know you'll fix them. If you could reply it would be great thanks, I know it's only just a week and I don't mean to jump the gun but I found myself just getting so worked up this morning over these things, I had to express my concern with you, all and all though great game, really like it the positive by far out way the negatives and I can see it going in a good direction.
  20. Well twas the night before the launch, so I bid a fond farewell to Reach for the foreseeable future, and an even fonder farewell to Bungie (been a solid blast all these years, so eager to play Destiny and fully expect to be blown away when it eventually comes out). And I bid a massive hello to 343i & map creators Certain Affinity (proper after Anni). And the might that is Halo 4.
  21. I was wondering about the new palettes for the new forge environments. First off, I thought that there was going to be four forge environments, not three. This displeases me slightly however. In that space envionment (I forgot the name of it), there was some tunnel pieces, which inspires me to make a basic racing map. I also like the oceanic palette, it reminds me of the forge world's lagoon and shorelines. Anyhoo, I was wondering what you thought about the palettes, because I was excited about th enew forge vidocs. BTW, if you want to know why the text is so big, it is because I am no longer going here on computer, I am on the XBOX's Internet Explorer, and it is hard to read from four to five feet from the screen, so yeah.
  22. I was watching the FUD video for the 5th time today and was was wondering who Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo was. Corbulo Academy bears his name so this is his "real" story. This information comes from http://en.wikipedia....omitius_Corbulo. These are some of the key facts about him: Full name is Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo Born in 7AD Died in 67AD at 60 years old. Was a Roman General Brother in law was the emperor of Rome from 37 AD to 41 AD. His name was Caligula. born in Italy into a senatorial family His father had the same name. His mother was called Vistilia Was consul in 39 during the reign of Caligula Descent Corbulo was born in Italy into a senatorial family. His father (who entered the senate as a formal praetor under Tiberius) had the same name and his mother was named Vistilia, who came from a family who held the praetorship. [edit]Reign of Caligula The early career of Corbulo is unknown but he was consul in 39 during the reign of Caligula, his brother-in-law through Caligula's marriage to Corbulo's half-sisterMilonia Caesonia. [edit]In Germania Inferior Statue of Corbulo in Voorburg, Netherlands After Caligula's assassination, Corbulo's career went into a halt until, in 47, when the new Emperor Claudius made him commander of the Germania Inferior armies, with base camp in Cologne. The new assignment was a difficult one and Corbulo had to deal with major rebellions and violence outbreaks coming from Cherusci and Chauci Germanic tribes. During his stay inGermania, the general ordered the construction of a canal between the rivers Rhine and Meuse.[1] Parts of this engineering work, known as Fossa Corbulonis or Corbulo's Canal, have been found at archeological digs. Its course is about identical to the Vliet, which connects the modern towns of Leiden (ancient Matilo) and Voorburg (Forum Hadriani). [edit]In the east For more details on this topic, see Roman-Parthian War of 58–63. Corbulo returned to Rome, where he stayed until 52, when he was named governor of the province of Asia. Following Claudius' death in 54, the new emperor Nero sent him to the eastern provinces to deal with the Armenian question. After some delay, he took the offensive in 58, and, reinforced by troops from Germany, attacked Tiridates, king of Armenia and brother of Vologases I of Parthia. Artaxata and Tigranocerta were captured by his legions (III Gallica, VI Ferrata, and X Fretensis), and Tigranes, who had been brought up in Rome and was the obedient servant of the government, was installed king of Armenia. In 61 Tigranes invaded Adiabene, an integral portion of the Parthian Kingdom, and a conflict between Rome and Parthia seemed unavoidable. Vologases, however, thought it better to come to terms. It was agreed that both the Roman and Parthian troops should evacuate Armenia, that Tigranes should be dethroned, and the position of Tiridates recognized. The Roman government declined to accede to these arrangements, and Lucius Caesennius Paetus, governor of Cappadocia, was ordered to settle the question by bringing Armenia under direct Roman administration. The protection of Syria in the meantime claimed all of Corbulo's attention. Lucius Caesannius Paetus, a weak and incapable commander, who "despised the fame acquired by Corbulo (2), suffered a severe defeat at Rhandeia (62), where he was surrounded and forced to capitulate to the Parthians and evacuated to Armenia. The command of the troops was again entrusted to Corbulo. In 63 AD, with a strong army, he crossed the Euphrates, but Tiridates declined to give battle and arranged a peace. At Rhandea he laid down his diadem at the foot of the emperor's statue, promising not to resume it until he received it from the hand of Nero himself in Rome. Fall and death After two failed plots by noblemen and senators, including Corbulo's son-in-law Roman Senator Lucius Annius Vinicianus, to overthrow Nero in 62, he became suspicious of Corbulo and his support among the Roman masses. In 67 disturbances broke out in Judaea and Nero, ordering Vespasian to take command of the Roman forces, summoned Corbulo, as well as two brothers who were the governors of Upper and Lower Germany, to Greece. On his arrival at Cenchreae, the port of Corinth, messengers from Nero met Corbulo, and ordered him to commit suicide, which he loyally obeyed by falling on his own sword, saying,"Axios!".[2]
  23. So it has finally been confirmed that Assassinations, The Covenant and Grifball are coming back. Here is the exact confirmation from Frank O'Connor on the Halo Waypoint Bulletin for this Week: I'll say what I think he means below. 1. Will assassinations return and if yes, will we have more unique weapon moves, for example the Energy Sword in Halo: Reach? –D4RKNESS 360 Short version, yes. Assassinations are altered, but they’re back. The weapon question isn’t something we’re going to answer today. 2. Will there be any Covenant presence in Campaign or Multiplayer? Be it weaponry, equipment, architecture, etc. –Lloyd Jo en es Yes. The Covenant will definitely return, albeit in a completely (graphically, politically and sonically) overhauled form, but they may be the least of your problems. 3. Will Halo 4 include Gravity Hammers and Energy Swords (or adequate replacements) for Grifball? –Kalbelgarion It will be (more or less) possible to play Grifball in Halo 4. 1. I think assasinations are coming back, but differently. For instance, I think we'll be seeing some neck-snaps, knife-stabs, and certain gun-assassinations. 2. I think this means that the Covenant are coming back to try and find forerunner artifacts. Their leaders might be dead, but they might have a new prophet. Anyway, I think when Frank said "but they may be the least of your problems".... He meant that they are aren't going to be the only enemy we face. Could we be facing Forerunner's instead? Most likely.. Maybe even Flood. Does this mean we'll also be seeing Elite's again? Because even though they aren't part of the Covenant anymore.. Our good 'ol friend The Arbiter, might come to help Chief. I mean come on, what would a Halo Game without Dinosau-, I mean Elites, be like. 3. Now after reading this over a few times, I think Frank is trying to say that we 'll be able to play Grifball. But we'll have to make a custom map in forge, along with a game-type for it. And yes, Forge has already been confirmed in Halo 4. Look it up.
