  1. Well according to these pics, the Mantis is indeed playable in War Games!! Take a look: From and By: http://halo4nation.com/news/mantis-playable-in-multiplayer/ Also it looks like there will be 3 loadout options for Infected players in the new Gametype, Flood. Unknown (Hunter?), Stalker, and Lurker . Thanks to E1Dav1d on Reddit for posting.
  2. Hello, I'd like to talk about a recent credit ban that I received today. I was playing some Grifball like I've been doing for the passed few days, and in the middle of the game I received a message, saying, "This console has been temporarily banned from earning credits" and another message soon after, "This account has been temporarily banned from earning credits" I have literally no clue as to what I have done wrong, and I need clarification on the subject. I have been playing over and over to get to the rank of Lt. Colonel so I could wear my dream armour set, and this has stopped me (All I needed was a couple more 10,000 credit loads and I would've been there!). Please, I just need an answer, ANY answer. I don't want to wait any longer! I have played and played and I have earned what I've worked for, and this handicapped system has gotten In my way! Ever since I got this XBOX 360 for Christmas, I wanted to get to Lt. Colonel (Like on my old account that I accidentally deleted and cant recover (Crumpet Juice) ) so I could live in my former glory! PLEASE! 343, you are my favourite company and I've loved your games, but this has been taken too far! If I did anything wrong, I'm sorry... So could I please be given an answer?
  3. imthinkinarby's Suggestions for 343 Industries to Improve into Halo 5: Guardians. Hello Halo community! It is a pleasure to be writing for you all who enjoy the Halo franchise as much as I do. Please, 343i, take this into consideration if you are reading. Let's cut to the chase here, guys. As you know, the majority of this fanbase has agreed Halo 4 wasn't as good as previous games in the series; notably Halo 3 (My personal favourite). So I'm here to at least let 343i know of some issues that we as a body have not enjoyed in Halo 4 and long to see tweaked in Halo 5: Guardians. Today is the day before the Halo 5 beta, and I will keep this post updated on things I see that need to be improved. I need a weapon, and said weapon is not a weapon, but a lamp. And said lamp is a keyboard. Here we begin. First of all, one of the most obvious things bothering a few of us is no Elite customization character. Some players prefer the Elite model over the Spartan one, so that can be proves as a letdown to that section of the fanbase. Also, aspiring Machinima directors may want to use Elites in some of their films as they would want to make them the antagonists of said films. Some would call this sloppiness or even downright laziness. Another problem biting me in the *** right now (And arguably the most) is that the originally fun, arena based matchmaking maps have been degraded slightly to those of Call of Duty somewhat. This can be fixed by playing both Halo 3 and Halo 4. A vast majority (I would go as far to say 89%) of the fans prefer Halo 3's multiplayer. Try basing the multiplayer maps off of Halo 3 and give a slight 343i twist to it. Something else is story. Story in Halo 4 was satisfactory for me. But for many others it was a "catastrophe". I wouldn't go that far, but it could have been improved on. Maybe make the Chief go into hiding to be found by UNSC and ONI forces and use him to fight a Storm Covenant invasion force poised on Earth or take down a Promethean asset that is ready to strike Humans and Covenant alike. Or, possibly, make a return of the Flood and another Halo or something. Just random suggestions. And maybe a bit closer to the campaign of Halo Reach, yeah? Goodbye for now, all. I'll edit this post when I have played Halo 5: Guardians. Feel free to comment your suggestions on the topic. I am happy to hear any ideas. Cheers, imthinkingarby
  4. Just joined the forum to make this post! I'm loving this game, but I'm cycling through controls schemes to find the one that is most optimal for my aggressive style of play. I'm currently using on the Halo 4 control layout, and decided to create this quick mock-up of what I feel would be an ideal setup for people not looking to mod the control itself. I do not care to own it so long as I can use it. I thought I'd name it as well...because like, the others have names too
  5. Throughout my halo career I have delved into nearly every aspect of the games. I have vanquished covenant, silenced the flood, and conquered matchmaking. Now a new point has come, the weight of halo and it's responsibility lay on 343s shoulders. With this moment coming, I can only voice my opinion to the new parents of halo. My concerns are first laid upon the master chief collection. All bugs put aside, it shines bright in the collection of halo, however there are larger concerns. For example, custom games. I find it very difficult to connect with the community due to the games difficult setup. One feature in particular bothers me the most. This feature is the one that does not allow other players to join in a game in progress. Not only does this frustrate me, but it also grinds the gameplay to a halt whenever someone else wishes to join in the fun. This is a basic component to the game, and certainly lowers the value without it. Next is the upcoming title 'Halo 5: Guardians'. I am interested in the story of this game. 343 has done well in their campaigns so far, but yet again I am concerned for the multiplayer. Watching the gameplay I noticed many aspects that were questionable to the seasoned halo player. For instance, the automatic callouts during gameplay made me think the game was being dumbed down. Part of the competitive edge I enjoyed about having a team was being able to communicate exclusively. The tedious timing on weapon spawns gave a player the upper hand. However looking at this gameplay makes it look like there is little room to overcome your enemy in method. Halo 5 also concerns me in its customization. I myself have always found that halo has given the most expansive customization to its players, but looking into halo 5 it seems there will be less. I talk about the elite player models. I fear 343 will yet again forsake the elite choice as they did in halo 4. Having elites available open up many different opportunities. Machinamas, matchmaking games (invasion), or even a story connection, and if none of these, just basic preference. If you have successfully made it through my lengthy complaints, I thank you for listening. I only hope 343 will take my opinion into account, for there are many others like myself, one just needs to look. -Apex
  6. A 7 minute gameplay on the map Complex with the game mode "Flood".The pistol is still in and we get to choose 1 of 3 loadouts from Flood and Human alike. It appears you can choose Camo, Hardlight Shield and Thruster pack. I am not sure exactly what side can do what but Camo is for both sides and i haven't saw a Human with Thruster pack and i have not saw a Flood yet with a Hardlight Shield. Give me your thoughts on this. 10. Time to do some introducing; I'm one of the developers of Installation 01, a Halo game made by fans for fans. This is the game that had that lame "Halo 5 leak" as "promotion". The developer who posted that would like to apologize to those who fell for it or saw it for what it was immediately. If you are worried now because those Halo 5 leaks looked bad or that we used Halo 4 assets, don't be worried. All content from other Halo games are just for testing purposes and will all be replaced with custom content. This project is also a work in progress and nowhere reflects the quality of the final product. What Is Installation 01 Installation 01 is a fan-made Halo game that will feel very classic in design. We are striving to make the Halo game that Halo fans will love. This will be a full game powered by the Unity engine and will be released for free. The game will take inspiration from all of the FPS Halo games, but will mainly be influenced by Halo 3. Installation 01 will include a single player, multiplayer, and other game modes possibly (maybe theater ). I can't give out too many details because it's still early in it's development, but you can expect a public beta when the time comes. This game has a long road ahead of it, but we'll keep you posted every step of the way. Anyways, here is a video of some of our progress. http://youtu.be/SL9C7d-Kis0 FAQs Q: How much will Installation 01 cost at launch? A: Free, we're not legally allowed to make a profit off of this, and why would we charge you in the first place, this is our gift to the Halo community. Q: What game modes will be in Installation 01? A: Currently we have a campaign and multiplayer planned. Things can always change, but these features are basically set in stone. If you were referring to gametypes, expect standard Halo gametypes such as CTF, Slayer, ect. Q: Why does your game look like it was made in 2002? A: It is an early build, again none of this represents the final product. HELP NEEDED We need some help developing, preferably C# coders. If you have skill contact me ([email protected]) Currently the developers are: Cippozzo, MegaSean, ZOBI3KING, HyperGuineaPig, and me. Can't wait to see your guy's feedback on the project, and if you have an idea that isn't overly outrageous (scarab BTB gametypes) be realistic. I'll update this post as things modernize, change, ect. We don't break Microsoft's game usage content rules.
  11. As a true halo fan aside from already destroying kids with its perfectly balanced multiplayer the way it WAS,The armor was some thing truly special to me,it made you feel like a bad -snip- and made you want to flock it to anyone you killed, In H4 the armor style was just wack, everyone looked the same since it was so fast, and i felt no urge to really want to play the game to unlock more of its armor unlike the previous Halos,Halo 3 and reach had fantastic armor, and after Bungie left they took that great armor styled talent and put it in Destiny now,The titan class?? Man i could only imagine how they wouldve made the spartans look in halo 4 with that talent, but im not here gonna praise Bungie now, cause 343 can do it too,If they just spend a good amount of time putting the effort into every single piece of armor instead of just using an easy template for all the spartans,I mean if you need help just look at the Destinys Titan class xD (sorry again) but no really, I love what 343 is doing by going back to Halos roots and everything but the Armor was Definitely apart of that, Each spartan looked truly different from buff spartans with that huge knife as a shoulder piece in Halo Reach to slim spartans like in Halo 3,and then people would just make crazy combinations and it was great to even then see their spartans in Halo reach on the side with the vertical list view (As in all halo games) unlike H4 with its horizontal card style which made me feel like i was playing a game that was not Halo sadly,So yes Im hoping 343 would really hear me out on this cause im sure every halo player is hoping of a much better armor customization style for Halo 5,cause after they nail the multiplayer and make H5 go back to how Halo was, Im going to get bored if theres not that super impossible god like piece of armor that ill have to put in mad hours to get, like how halo reach did it ,if anything you can implement credits again and just use them to buy pieces of armor, make them at ridiculous prices and thatll get players to put a lot of hours in the game and especially if you can unlock armor from playing the campaign, and unlocking achievements, thats how you get them hooked, but once again MAKE THE ARMOR LOOK BEAST like a true war fighter spartan, just think Tactical,Military, and Warrior with sharp edges, and even in halo reach you could see some of the dirt and damage on some armor too. but if you listen I bet youll be in the right path to make some fine Armor for H5,Not super power rangers from space with retarted bright colors that made the red in matchmaking look salmon and the blue was like sky blue?? DO NOT REPEAT H4 with that armor style ever, again.but thank you for reading i know it was a lot to -snip- read but i felt i had to get this point across ASAP,cause this will be the decision for me if i actually want to keep playing H5 after you guys make the game "Go back to its roots" Side note: Whats up with all the Blue in Halo 4's UI? Make it a nice Dark mysterious atmosphere, sadly look how Bungie did it with Destiny? Lol sorry again
  12. My x box live account had a message pop up during a game of griffball stating that I was temporarily banned from earning credits, I was wondering as to why, and if there was anything I could do to lift this bann, I love playing halo and I hate cheaters and I would never try to boost points or try to trick the system, please 343 industries help me get this credit bann lifted so I can continue playing halo reach, and if there is anything I can do to get this lifted or prove myself to you please let me know THANK YOU FOR READING Also forgot to mention that my gamer tag is, A Body Piercer Also forgot to mention that my gamer tag is, A Body Piercer
  13. The Halo Channel announced At Gamescom, 343i announced that they will release a central hub called The Halo Channel. From this hub you'll have acces to all halo games and content that will be available on the Xbox One. The Master Chief Collection will of course be integrated in this hub and from within this channel you'll also be able to stream your gameplay to Twitch and show of your l33t skills. They also made a small announcement regarding The Master Chief Collection. They've now shed some light upon the ranking system which will be similair to the one in Halo 2. Halo 5: Guardians beta date Along with The Halo Channel announcement 343i gave us the time period in which we can play the Beta. The Beta will be playable from the 29th of december untill the 18th of January. Which is 3 weeks playing time! (Talk about a Happy New Year) The Beta is focussed on 4v4 combat on 7 maps and 3 gametypes. You'll also be able to play around with 11 different weapons and a few armour skins. Along with all that you will be able to unlock items that will carry over to the full game. Loadouts will not be in this beta so every Spartan starts out equally. In the press conference 343i revealed some screenshots as well which can be viewed down here: How hyped are you now? Let me know down below! Thank you for reading! Source Source Source Source
  14. The next game in the Halo series will be led by Timothy Longo, who had previously worked as the creative director of games such as the Tomb Raider reboot and Star Wars: Republic Commando. Longo had also been working on an unannounced Star Wars first-person shooter just before LucasArts was disbanded and the property was purchased by Disney. Longo has joined the team behind the next Halo game as creative director, alongside franchise director and executive producer Josh Holmes at 343 Industries. Outside of a teaser trailer released at E3 earlier this year, details about the next Halo game have been scarce. So far, what we know is that it'll again be developed by 343 Industries, run on a new engine at 60 frames per second on the Xbox One, and will be out in 2014. SOURCE:IGN
  15. I'll start off by saying, from what I've seen of Halo 5: Guardians so far, it looks like 343 are heading in the right direction, and are listening to the fans. I am hoping this post will be noticed by 343 and aid them in the game design. For me, the reasons for people disliking Halo 4's multiplayer had been a complete mystery, until I invited an old friend to play matchmaking with me. As we played he pointed all of the little things he didn't like, and I wrote them down on a list... no, really. His exact words were: "It's a good game, but it's not a good HALO game". I'll try to keep this as short as possible, and will add some suggestions of my own. If anyone reading this also has any ideas, feel free to leave them as a reply. - Halo 4's multiplayer is too competitive oriented. This makes it difficult for newcomers to get into the multiplayer and they may become frustrated at their lacking experience and leave before they hone their skills. There were no playlists for people to just relax, where you just played the game, and your stats and game results didn't matter. Solution: Social playlists. Playlists where your rank and other stats are unaffected with nothing recorded. This will make it more light-hearted and provide practice for inexperienced players. - In Halo 4's matchmaking, the game "starts", then there's a UNSC logo, then loadouts, then a countdown. In Halo 3 the game started as soon as it was loaded which I think everyone would prefer. - On smaller Halo 4 maps, there are a lot of enclosed spaces (e.g. Adrift and Solace) where if you get double teamed... well, you're dead. The maps need to be more open with more paths in and out of different areas. This will give players more options for a "counter offensive". More cover would also help counter this. - "Say, you remember Halo 3's Bungie favourites?", "Yeah man, that's where I found Fat kid, Ice cream man, Duck hunt, Jenga, Predator, Halo, Cops 'n' robbers, Sky fortress, and a whole load of cool maps". Halo 5: Guardians and the community would definitely benefit from an easily accessible in game-feature where players can find the latest and best creations. It doesn't have to be "343 favourites" it could be a community features matchmaking playlist. If a playlist or feature like this was updated regularly, there would always be something new and fresh to draw people back in. - In previous Halos, you needed to go out of your way to get power weapons on the map. In Halo 4, you just pressed a button and they were given to you. Giving power-ups to players who are doing well? Really? If the power-ups are on the map, anyone could get them, a newbe could pick up a rocket launcher. This would make the games more balanced and fairer. - Let's be honest some of the armor in Halo 4 was ugly and ridiculous, all they did was take up disc space. If the armor doesn't look good, you don't HAVE to put it in the game. An idea that I had was to unlock decals for your armor, or even make your own and place them wherever you wanted on the character model; maybe put them on file share. Forza's decal editor has produced some excellent results, so give Dan Greenwalt a call if you're reading this 343. - Don't just take features from C.O.D. and bolt them into a Halo game. Halo needs to be unique or people simply won't have any reason to play it, it will just become "Call of Duty: Future Warfare". My friend said that he found the in game scores that pop up distracting from the gameplay. I personally don't have a problem with these, so maybe have the option to turn them off. I also find when it takes more time and effort get a kill it's more satisfying. - Finally, Halo 4's new music is good, but you can't beat the classic theme. Perhaps Marty could better his previous work, wink wink, nudge nudge. Thanks for taking the time to read this, it was hard work for me too
  16. I just wanna personally thank Bungie for making me and my family have nostalgia with halo 1 and halo 2!!! And of course all the other halos! Thank you 343 for continuing the halo series! i don't know what i would have done without you guys! thank you all for halo and its community!
  17. Hello, people!I started this topic to remember the real halo fans.I mean those who have all the Halo series. We find the unpleasant change on the next Halo series....The Elites won't be playable anymore...Some people say that Bungie had a contract with 343industries who meant the elites wont be playable anymore.Time passed, elites are not playable, and Arbiter is not included in Halo 4 campaign.I could pay 343 to make them playable again or to make Arby back, but I don't know the price and how to do that. So,we need you, people. To make forums and posts with this subject. Please 343!We NEED you.

Well, the Halo 2 Anniversary Trailer wasn't all that was revealed today at San Diego's Comic Con. 343 also threw out some new pictures showing off the Anniversary edition of the fan favorite map, Zanzibar! Zanzibar looks beautiful! We can expect more screenshots of other maps in the future like at Gamescom, as well as the reveal of the last 2 of the 6 expected map remakes! 20. Little English Blog has gotten a rare opportunity to interview Jen Taylor A.K.A Cortana. She talks about how she works with Steve Downes A.K.A Master Chief and various other studio and Halo 4 related things. Read below for more details From: http://www.littleenglishhaloblog.com/ By: FlawlessCowboy Jen Taylor - the voice of Cortana - was kind enough to take some time out of her schedule to answer some of my questions about her work on Halo 4. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to ask about competitive ranking systems, clan support or what the heck is on that second disc.. Hi Jen, in the recent ViDoc, we see you in the recording studio with Steve Downes, I believe this is new for Halo 4. How has working more closely with Steve affected your performances? I adore Steve Downes! It was a unique, wonderful opportunity to work with him in the studio. We have a lot of fun together which I think will be obvious in the more lighthearted moments. He is a good, gentle, steady rock to have in the room during the more intense scenes as well and made them so much easier. We’re a good team and it feels like we’ve actually weathered a few of these battles together. He does like to rustle his script during MY lines though… for which I kick him. From the glimpses we’ve seen of Cortana in Halo 4 so far, it’s clear that she’s much more distressed and emotional than we're used to. Have you enjoyed this shift in tone? Has it been difficult? It is exhilarating! I’ve been voicing Cortana for over a decade so it is incredibly gratifying to flesh out this character even more and to explore different aspects of her personality. And, honestly, I love getting all messy and emotional on the microphone. Other than getting in the studio with Steve, has there been any other differences now that you’re working with 343 Industries? Everything was different as this is a different group making this game but we all got to know each other quickly and managed to have a ridiculously good time creating Halo 4. With the substantial breaks between Halo games, do you find it difficult to slip back into character? Do you have a process to help you get in the mood? I’ve been developing this character for a while so it gets easier and easier every time I voice her. At this point, I don’t have to “go searching” too far to find her. Although I do have a blue, spandex suit with LED attachments that I MUST wear in the recording booth. As well as Halo you do a lot of voice work for other games, how does working on Halo compare to the other franchises you’ve worked on? It feels very comfortable since I’ve worked on the Halo franchise longer than any other game. It is a wonderful rarity to get the opportunity to evolve with the game and refine my performance. I’m looking forward to the next Halo journey. Of the games you've worked on, which has the best fans? (totally loaded question ) Oh this question doesn’t need an answer, does it? You know which!
  21. Halo 5 Armour: Suggestions Hey everyone, i'd like to take a moment to propose some ideas and concepts for some halo 5 armour. Firstly i'd like to show everyone some concepts i have designed myself. (More may be added to the post) I am hoping to one day make it in the gaming industry and a pitcher and designer, what this armour originally was was armour that i am making for my own FPS game Pitch. Seeing as i am still in collage and maybe quite far from pitching a game, i may as well see if these armour are good enough for Halo. Interceptor: I drew this helmet freehand, The fashion i was trying to project with this helmet is Brutal, Heavily Armoured, Sleek and Technical. The purpose of wearers of this helmet would be to intercept enemies from primary objectives. This would be done in an all risk full brutality firefight. The heavy design and lack of a visor suggests a very technical nature of this gear. Ranger (Original name) Fine Liner Free Drawing: Fully Rendered: This helmet is by far one of my favorite concepts, sadly currently sharing the name of a current halo 4 helmet measures will have to be ensured to change this. This helmet is designed for rogue scouts that patrol of recon an area. The visor clearly shown wraps around the front and side of the helmet, giving well over 180 degrees puerperal vision. Another matter i would like to address is how th armour affects us. Halo armour has always just made our Spartans look pretty, i think it is time they got giving a use. Armour pieces should now be given designated statistics. My suggestion to these are as follows: Mobility / Weight: Damage Resistance: (Maybe more) These statistics show that armour should affect the player in terms of battle and mobility. It would create interesting ways in which players can play the game. Players should also have the ability to have a transparent visor, removed helmet, or removed armour pieces. Upon shooting places that armour was removed the player will take much more damage. Another suggestion i would like to make is to make sure that all armour is achievable. I loved the armour in Halo 4, but some armours are just too hard to get or completely unachievable. Examples: Stances: (Breach, Believe and Standoff) are all far too hard to get! They should be made much easier and should suit a play style instead of getting kills with a bunch of weapons. I have seen one person with Breach and one with believe. Standoff is just ridiculous, No gametypes have fuel rod cannons, beam rifles or gravity hammers even spawn! Sorry 343, but thats Crazy! Assault stance is achievable, but still far to hard. Armour: Vanguard, Protector (Skin), Commando, are just out of the question ridiculous. I have never seen anyone with these armours. And disappointingly there are my favorites. They would take bare months to achieve. A set of armour that requires a designated goal should only take a bare maximum of 8 Solid gameplay hours to achieve. (If i could make a suggestion, It shouldn't require the "Master" level on a commendation. I feel that the level master is very fair, but you shouldn't be required to reach it for all armours. Visors: Verdant was very hard to get and far too enduring. I feel if it was lowed by at least half it would be fair. I forget the name of it but the red visor requiring avenger medals is very hard. The message i am trying to get across here (And i definitely don't blame 343, it was their first game and they wouldn't have known how it would go down) but now they know (: so c'mon 343! One last thing that isn't entirely relevant. I Don't think all specializations should be available for unlock straight away, some should be restricted until you have done more, per say, completed a number of specializations. I hope you enjoyed my ideas. Thank you for reading! (:
  22. I Doubt 343 will take a look at this, but for everyone else on here I'd like some opinions on my complaints. First off, the new update as of today, 07/07/2014, includes "Swagnums". If people want to use the magnum, then fine, but don't make it a specific game type. (I'll get to my reasoning later on) The new maps for SWAT (Panic Station and Excavation) are decent maps, but they should NOT be appearing almost every match. Out of 15-20 lobbies, at least 10-12 are Panic Station, regular or covenant and some random objective. If your wanting to add maps that everyone can play without DLC, add other maps from slayer playlists, within reason that is. (Ex. The Ark (Snipers) would be too small, but Onyx would be fine) Another issue: there should be two maps designated as regular SWAT, and the third should be a variant of objective or weapons. With only three maps available to choose from, one always objective, one always a weapon variant, and usually Panic Station regular SWAT, it's hard to even play an online game. People back out majority of the time because of the map selections (mostly being Panic Station), and because the other choices are either objective or weapon variant. I'll make it simple, and sum everything up in a list 1. Two maps with regular SWAT, third choice a rotation of objective and weapon variant 2. Less Panic Station 3. Less weapon variants 4. If you want more maps, add existing one's from other playlists 5. "Swagnums" should be removed. If you want to use the pistol, then do it, if not that's fine. ****(Host with pistol = unstoppable and won't die) My two cents guys. Let me know if you agree or not. I know a lot of good SWAT players rarely play anymore because of the playlist change.
  23. Firstly, apologies for sounding like a broken record as I'm sure enough this topic has been previously posted uncountable times. I have been playing the recent updated DLC playlist which I assume is aimed at those of us who are looking to gain those final few achievements that have been previously unattainable due to no DLC maps in the map rotation on matchmaking for the last few months prior to this revamped playlist. I heard that this playlist was back on so I have blitzed through the remaining achievements and have one remaining. Ashes to ashes. I've read through all of the previous forums regarding this achievement and by the sounds of things it is a common problem that this achievement just doesn't unlock. I have tried :- Incineration Cannon Binary Rifle Scattershot Pulse Grenades (including pulse grenading dead bodies) Nothing works. I've seen 343 come out and say we're trying to resolve the issue. But that is all I've heard for months. No sign of a patch. No sign of any answer. I love Halo and thus far have all achievements in all of their games. (Not including Wars and Spartan Assault) So understandably this one is driving me crazy! Is there any chance this can finally be resolved please 343? Forgot to mention... I have also tried recovering my gamertag, deleting playlists and reinstalling them, deleting the game and reinstalling it... To no avail.
  24. A couple of questions for all of you. Question 1: What do you think The Arbiter's HUD (Ammo Counter, Radar, Helmet Decals, etc.) will look like in Halos: 2, 3, and Guardians? Question 2: Would you like to see both the TrustySnooze falcon and the generic Reach Falcon brought back in guardians? Question 3: Would you like to have either Hayabusa or Raider armor as a Waypoint Unlockable? Question 4: Would you like to be able to make your OWN, PERSONAL armor whether it be intimidating or silly in multiplayer that only YOU can possess and tinker with as you please in multiplayer? Question 5: Would you like to be able to have your emblem on your elite character again like in Halo 3? Thanks for answering, ladies and gentlemen. -Sincerely, The Men and Women at TeamHostileTakeover Machinima and Commentary
  25. I'm going to start off by saying right off the bat I LOVE the Halo universe and personally see it as more thrilling and entertaining than most other popular xbox games including Activision's Call of Duty cash cow. I own all the games, Halo 3 being my favorite, and the Limited Edition of Halo 4. While I do have a lot of issues with Halo 4, I still do respect 343i's hard work, just not as much as Bungie's. And note this is MY OWN OPINION, respect mine and I will respect YOURS. To be honest I do no know where to start. I guess i'll tackle the problems in order of the main menu. Campaign: SPOILERS! While the sounds of Master Chief's armor scraping against rocks and the skulls of elites were fantastic and the visuals were over the top, it was overall kinda of weak. Though 343i did do a fantastic job with the soundtrack. (While it truly isn't quite what were used to, I personally enjoyed it all.) Anyways, the campaign was full of flaws. Within the first few hours of owning the game and playing through the campaign I was frustrated at how I had no idea what was going on. I had to turn on subtitles and totally restart to catch any clue. I also found the Didact's ship being a ball to be totally lame and not something to fear. I remember in a later mission ( i'm not sure which) that a Pelican was sent to pick up Chief. Upon walking up the ramp it just cuts to black and a second later I'm under the crashed Infinity? I just don't get that. And then that ending. You detonate a nuclear bomb with your fist and live? I know that Cortana is one heck of an AI, but how on Earth, did she save you from a point-blank nuclear explosion!? She's code just like the game! If code stopped nukes then..well....i don't know, but it doesn't. I just had trouble getting into this whole thing. I remember sitting in awe as I saw the amazing sights of the first 3 Halos, but I only got that feeling when once in Halo 4 when Chief saw whatever Halo was outside the Composers base. All in all though i just felt that 343i put too much effort into making epic CGI cutscenes and music than story development and it's not even a continuing story. That's just lame. The enemies don't speak English....Moving on... Infinity - Matchmaking: Overall it is a little enjoyable. The first thing i'm going to stab at is the Custom Loadouts. I don't get why every game has to be like Call of Duty? These are totally unnecessary. We don't need perks and the weapons should be scattered about the map as usual. The ordnance is okay i guess. It just hands everyone a power weapon after five kills, but since there are no weapons lying about it is better than nothing. Next comes the armors. Personally I do like a lot of them and am glad that 343i chose to give some armors a sense of accomplishment by making them unlockable through commendations, but all most are is a bunch of skins which only the trained eye can even tell the difference. I loved earning the katana and other armors in Halo 3 through achievements. I think I would have honestly rather seen a return to the CR system so I can show off of my hardwork. As for the maps I think there are maybe a handful of them I enjoy. Haven is cool, kinda like guardian or blackout. Longbow is my favorite with its snowiness and vehicles. Complex is good too. My main problem with these maps is all the freaking symmetry. I know the maps have to be fair to both teams but half of them are just totally mirrored. Solace especially. With my limited edition I also received all three map packs which are all okay. Though have hardly played them since the current Castle DLC playlist only holds about 100 active players. Although I already expressed myself about weapons I forgot to mention the skins.... Ok, the skins are cool but theres like 1 or 2 for each weapon. And you can only get them though maybe mastery (haven't done it yet so i don't know) and specialization. If there was more and they were varied on how to get them I would love to work for them. Almost at the end here now but why did you have to take away the Falcon? It was the most fun vehicle ever! I throughly, honestly enjoyed getting shot down in it in Reach with all my buddies on the guns. It was great!.. Also my rank is a number now? Im level SR68 as of today and thats just boring. I'm a General Grade 4 in reach and thats cool. The moral of the story is Halo was* in itself a unique game. You don't have to suck ideas from Call of Duty for it to be good. Seeing as there is only about 10,000-20,000 players now from the 400,000 at day one hopefully that is obvious. Infinity - Custom Games: I'm going to be frank Halo's Custom Games are my favorite part of the entire series. I love playing fun mini-games and competitive matches with my friends. However, 343i you smothered this one in the crib. I know how cool it is to change Infection into your own Flood and I love the zombie skins, but come on! You trashed almost every custom game ever made! Say goodbye to hours of non-stop action and enjoyment. It's like you found a successful man named Custom Games, took him out in the back alley behind the 343i studio, and then beat him relentlessly with a metal pole just because. Quit using the Ghost on Snowbound and fix this already! Infinity - Spartan Ops: Personally these are pretty cool and I like the story to them, but they are a bit repetitive. I was unaware every sensor array on requiem was located in the same spot. Im sorry, but use different maps including the multiplayer ones to mix it up a little and throw in some new interesting enemies and objectives. Like for instance the shootout in Vallaha (thats right. thats what it is called.) with the mantises was awesome and the covenant cruiser actually worried me a little. Whether firefight is better than Spartan ops I'm not really sure, but i've had more good times surviving the waves of helpless grunts in the end. Infinity - Forge: I do NOT have a single bad thing to say about Forge. It is spectacular! The magnets are a gift from the gods! And all the aesthetics and scenery! I LOVE it all, especially Forge Island. However it is stifled by weak Custom Games. Fix those and then your in business. Infinity - Theater: It's theater. How can you mess that up or make it any better? Infinity - THE FREAKING MENUS!: I apologize for ranting about the game thus far, but here comes more. I'm sorry but the menus are just lazy. Don't deny it. The only valid excuse is that you were too busy sacking Custom Games' house and dragging him out into the street and beating him again, relentlessly with a metal pole. Compared to Halo 2, 3, 3:ODST, and Reach these are the plainest yet. It's just a blue card. Everything is blue. It makes me want to stab my eyes out with the fuzzy end of my mic. What happened to the imagination? Couldn't you at least have put in a background like the main menu? AND THE MUSIC OH GOD! The constant thu-doom-doom is the worst part of it all. You composed epic music! USE IT! So that's pretty much all I have to say about that. I'm sorry for possibly offending anyone, but I felt it was necessary to give a little "constructive" criticism. If your planning on pumping out Halo 5 I would think long and hard about how its going to turn out first. If I made any mistakes on something besides grammar feel free to correct me. And now let any ranting or comments about how inconsiderate I am as a person commence, because frankly I don't care anymore. Sincerely, PopDeer
