  1. I wonder how they will address that? I mean sure, he is going to look all shiny and new with the shaders and development tools, but where is our explination of how he goes from battleworn, to perfectly fine? Did Cortana pack a picnic basket with some goodies? Did he take a good hot shower and put on some new wears? can you imagine how stinky that man must be? My god the skid marks alone in his jockies is prolly enough to clog a Pillar of Autumn sized toilet!

  3. Yup. The trailer blew me away too. I want to so badly play as a German soldier. Fighting on my homeland with my brothers seems comforting somehow in all that MW3 chaos. Hopefully they have learned a few things from their online competition and will use those learning to correct things in multiplayer.

Well, the one where you commit suicide and take enemies with you would be like jumping into the base with a roket pointed down, and firing when you hit the ground. if anyone was next to you, you would kill them, and it would also count as a suicide since you died from your own actions. Quite funny to see people trying this...lmao Most of what i named would also be used for campaign. I also mainly got reach for it's campaign. I only play campaign and doubles firefight now. But lets face it. A majority of gamers actaully play the competative end, which you and I dont obviously. That is why I focused my new achievs and medals on multiplayer. I could prolly come up with some more just for campaign, but that take about another quick 15 minutes...
  6. True that. It would have made a much more interesting game if they followed the books. But then again, Bungie created the universe, so whatever they decide will always trump the books written by others.
  7. Agreed! halo is the superior game. I dont just say that because I am a complete Halo freak/nerd. While CoD does "try" to maintain a more realistic battlefield, it utterly fails. The Physics and collision handling is by far out matched by Halo. In CoD, you cant even jump on top of a crate that is literaly as tall maybe your kneecap. The melee system sucks balls on top of that. Even with a huge knife, it takes like 5 swipes to take down an enemy. Do they have some kind of magic shield in fron of there ugly faces? CoD is and always will be far behind Halo in terms of gameplay and multiplayer experience. It does however excel at telling the story. I cannot deny that aspect, even being the die hard halo fan i am. It does have one hell of a great story and plot.
  8. Remember, Spartans never die...they are just MIA. I still laugh at that phrase every time. We clearly see Kat die in Reach..lmao! I may have to revisit some of the books. If memory serves correct, there are still quite a few handfuls of spartans in the galaxy roaming around on other missions, are there not?

  10. Hello everyone, my name is Twinreaper. I am an old school modder from way back in the ealy years of Halo PC and Xbox. I have been modding since Halo has been around. I have done many things in the community, and my knowledge and experience in the Halo game engine franchise has proven quite usefull in understanding the direction the developers go in the games.     To me, "more classic" means removing armor abilities and assassinations, and loading in some the standard equipment from the other Halo titles. With the script system they have in place for the engine, it would not be too difficult to script in the use of classic halo 1, 2 and 3 weapons into the multiplayer matchmaking. It would go nicely with the re-done maps I think. Oh, and make certain weapons dual-weilding again. SMG + Plasma Rifle always ruled for me!
  13. Your ideas or understanding about bloom are wrong. Bloom is simply the visual aspect of the where you can expect a firing weapons projectiles to go. Bloom itself is not responsable for, in any way, the amount of shots you can make, or the amount of spread. All that type of data is written into the weapon tag seperatly. the "bloom" as people call it, is nothing more than a HUD widget that shows the player a better representation of where a constant firing wepaon is leading to. Adjusting, removing or improving the bloom would do nothing to effect the amount of a wepaons power or accuracy. Every Halo game has a weapon draw back for firing it too many times. Reach is no different, except that now in Reach, everyone knows when and where the projectiles will go, thanks to the bloom widget. Everything else you said though seems to be spot on, and I myself hate the armor lock ability. Worst addition ever!
  14. Ok, so we all have our speculation on certain aspects of the new Halo title in development. I have yet to see, read or hear about any real good threads on the real meat and bones of any games replay value..... The Achievments and Awards you get from playing. To start things off, I will say how I feel about the current and past achievments.... Only one word can describe them, after Halo 2....... LAMEASALLF******HELL! ( i know, more than one word...lmao) I mean c'mon. I can only play thru and stick so many enemies before it gets so boring. Every single achievment or medal they offer, is in no way all that different from any other offered in the previous games. People want something new to do, something fun an unique that will make players both actually WANT to do them, and at the same time, give them all a big healthy round of laughs while doing it. Here are just a few ideas I have for some good achievments and medals... Achievments: [ Family Jewels ] - Stick any opponent 5 times in the crotch region in any mode of Halo 4 [ Mason Chief ] - using any vehicle, splatter an enemy combatant into a wall or obstacle. (think old wraith, player against wall jumping) [ Un-Friendly Fire ] - Successfully shoot a greande or any other explosive ordinace out of it'sfire path. (rockets asplode when shot) [ Gun Smoke ] - Successfully jack an incoming enemy occupied vehicle turret and kill 5 enemies, while driven by the enemy. [ Kamakazi ] - Fly or drive your manned vehicle into an enemy vehicle and destroy it 10 times. [ Special Delivery ] - Lead any homing ordinance locked onto to you, and re-direct it into an enemy player or vehicle. [ Emo Supremo ] - Commit suicide 10 times, taking 2 or more enemy players with you to the grave. [ Flagmatic ] - Destroy an occupied vehicle by pummeling it while holding the flag. [ Marathon Man] - Holding either the ball, flag or oddball, make one complete lap around the map without dying. (or 3 minutes holding) [ Sweet Cheeks ] - Be the only female spartan or elite on the battlefield and never be killed. (changes based on actual gender of player) Medals: [ Drunk Driving ] - Splatter an enemy while coming off a jump or after being blown upwards. [ Crap Shoot ] - Kill an enemy by delivering the final killshot to the buttocks. [ Head Case ] - Stuck an enemy in the head with a plasma grenade. [ Bag 4 Bag ] - Killled an enemy in the act of t-bagging. [ Dropin Loads ] - Killed an enemy with a destroyed banshee. [ Final take ] - Get the last kill or point in any multiplayer match. [ True Jedi ] - Sccussfully met and equalled out a sword lunge [ Puppet master ] - made an enemy fall to his death [ Control Freak ] - Force an enemy vehicle to splatter it's own team. [ Footloose ] - Kill an enemy in the act of jumping or using the man-cannon or any other lift. There you have it. A real quick ten minute thought of some new things to do that would be sure to provide hours upon hours of good old multiplayer matchmaking or campaign, and you get something for all those laughs. Thoughts everyone?
  15. See, now that is just sad ass lame customer service. I can understand that from a business standpoint, you want to maximize the profit by pushing off larger scale Live plans, but they really need to start taking the gamer base into conscideration. A good majority of gamers, even the hardcore, are casual. They all have real lives and have real expenses, even the parents of the kids that play. Having those type of codes and giving someone the runaround is just plain idiotic and criminal in mind. But then again, I will say that the family plan is a great option. I get up to 4 gamertags on my family plan, and you can add them whenever you want. Looking back, paying only $100 for 4 people to use Live for a year was a pretty sweet deal. Ends up only being $25 a year for me, my wife, my son and my daughter.

  17. I like the continuous increase in recoil idea. In real life after firing a few rounds and holding the weapon tyou tend to get tired. That increases the amount of force you feel from recoil and tends to drop your accuracy and aiming ability. It is indeed a very interesting and well thoughtout idea for the whole process you had going on. I would be interested to see if maybe there was a way I could script something similar into Halo2. If I made it a continious script, it would be able to work for everyone, including clients.
  18. I felt the same way Spectral. Iw as pissed that Ididnt pre-order to get the perm. Then is aw how lame it was and all the unlockables from the armory...and I forgot all about that armor :mrgreen: I didnt even try the live code cause I had bought my kids and wife the family gold. It didnt work at all? Did Microsoft at least compensate you for the code? I'm interested on that one.
  19. Thanks for that MJ. Always glad to meet a fellow enthusiast in terms of all this tech junk mumbo jumbo. But yeah, if anyone ever has a general question about Halo or other stuff, I'm always up for a good argument or a good healthy talk on stuff. Don't be shy guys. I plan on making this my new Bungie replacement home.
  20. What i want to know is, who will be doing the music? noone in the industry brings the magic like Martie! And the game wouldn't feel right without a breathtaking score to go behind it all.
  21. Well, given the past experience that Microsoft had with the contracted PI Studios and Hired Gun, it is doubtfull that we will ever see a remasterd version. It would be nice to see a team go back through and touch up all the things Bungie screwed up on. In fact, I remember Bungie saying that they wanted to forget that Halo 2 even existed. I have a feeling, the same can be said for everyone in Microsoft. i hope not though. i still conscider halo 2 the pinnacle of matchmaking.

    yeah, they did the same thing with halo 2. They gave us the 1.1 update for the new maps and some physic tweaks, but sadly that was all. It's a shame the 343 team over there didn't really have, or MS didnt want to, give 343 a dedicated site similar to Bungie. It would be nice to see some of the stuff they do, the faces of the team etc...
  23. True. You could simply state at what range the projectile would start to lose it's maximum speed, and adjust the damage to subtract an "x" amount per world units after that. Sounds good to me.
  24. Yeah true that man. 1gig for an Island map was rediculous. But thinking about the armor persm.....they couldnt in any way nearly amount to qualifying as a 1ig download though. Most of the models used in the Halo titles have a pretty descent compression rate. Even when converting those models over to an obj for instance, the file size is very minimum. If they did offer a 1gig update to increase the armory a lot, they could probably fit anywhere from 90 to 130 different armor perms. Of coarse we all know that won't happen. The 343 team is too busy prepping additional work for H4. But yeah it would really cool to see the new helm leaders of Halo give us community guys some cool new extras to work for. hell, I'de like to see some crazy new achievments. For that matter, who thinks up the achievments anyway? They are lame as hell. Where is my "Family jewels" award for sticking an enemy in the crotch 5 times?!?
  25. Our opinions on some things may differ MJ, but to be honest, I get a little over worked about certain game mechanics and the things they represent. No ill will or anything towards you. A majority of my knowledge of the game mechanics comes form my extensive modding backround with all the Halo titles. As for the bloom in Halo 1, yeah it is pretty whacky. But I guess thats what makes the multiplayer of it so challenging. But hands down halo 2 will always have the best multiplayer feel and physics handling. I agree that the fire spread in H3 should have been a little tighter grouped. I guess they were trying to go for a more realistic approach to tyring to simulate the kickback vs aiming properly effect of real life weapons fire. Obviously that failed..lmao I do quite enjoy Reach, just not the armor effects or the credit system. The AI though is very lacking. At first after I played thru legendary a couple times, I found myself really collecting my whits. But now, after being a little more experienced at it, the AI seems way to predictable. about 99% of the time, I can now charge an elite zealot or major head on, and almost always walk away with another assassination under my belt. The multiplayer part of it, I almost never play. The feel and all the extras they tried to cram into it just didnt ever feel right to me, and a lot of the extras become too much of a distraction for me personally. Firefight for me, is where all the action is at!
