It's Treyarch's turn this year, and the creators of World at War and Black Ops are coming around with the third entry into the series. Xbox and PlayStation's

I have to admit, I'm quite tired of Call of Duty, but I've always had a soft spot for Treyarch because of their abilities to tell a good story. I expect no less for Black Ops III, and even though it's almost confirmed it's futuristic, I'm still hoping for a Call of Duty in World War II. What are your thoughts on this announcement teaser? The release date announced by Activision has been set on the 19th of May and came with a trailer that will be released on 6PM UK time.

The DLC is expected to have a similair amount of content as the Dark Below expansion which is new story missions, a new Raid, a new Strike and 3 new multiplayer maps. Along with this will come "Hundreds" of new weapons and gear, a higher level Strike playlist (level 28) and a new level cap for the weekly Nightfall Strike (Level 32).

The new Raid is rumoured to be set in The Reef area which has only showed up once in the main story of the game and has been locked ever since.

The DLC will cost around $20 or free of charge if you've bought the Season Pass.

What FreeStyleGames also decided to overhaul is the Guitar Hero guitar controller. Remember that old thing with the 5 colourful buttons? The orange button you never managed to press with your pinky? Don't worry!

The new guitar controller features 6 buttons spread over 2 rows of three. 1 more button and no more having to move your hand up and down to hit them all. The strum bar, wammy bar and all the other buttons on the lower end stay in the same position like the old controller.

"What we came to was, you already know where your fingers are. You're moving them up and down. The idea of having colors to tell you where you are was kind of unnecessary. It was another bit of information that your brain had to process before you went, ‘OK, is it up or down?' Stripping that out and saying, your brain already knows where your fingers are, you just need to know if it's up or down, it seemed like you were processing the information a lot quicker. It worked really well."

The game will hit the store for $99,99 for the game with one controller and will release on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Wii U and mobile platforms. He had spoken also with PC Gamer about his departure and claims his leaving gearbox was not done out of spite, internal issues, franchise direction or any other matter internally, that it was simply just time for him to move on and find the next big thing. His leaving is at a non-critical point in the franchise as it is reported that Gearbox only recently started hiring on developers to start work on Borderlands in January, meaning that the creative development process has not even begun yet. Below is an example job posting over at Gearbox for a Tools developer. Tools developing is obviously required before any assets can be planned or created. hence the development process hasn't begun yet.

So what does this mean for the future of Gearbox and Borderlands? No doubt many fans of the franchise will be saddened and dismayed by Matt's exit to the beloved game series. More importantly, this may also lead to a vast array of mixed feelings as to the outcome of the future titles for Borderlands. Can they succeed without Matthew's direct writing and creative input? Can we look to the demise of 2k Australia as a sign of things to come for Borderlands out of Matthew's hands? Only time will tell if Gearbox can continue to pump out quality story and gameplay without it's Flagship titles creator. And what does this mean for any E3 plans gearbox may have had for 2015?

Yesterday, a Gamestop pre-order trailer for Halo 5: Guardians released with the revelation that Locke's personal armor (Unease P34nut calls it *Hunter* armor, though I'm not sure where he got this from) would be an exclusive pre-order bonus from Gamestop.

...However, Josh Holmes on NeoGAF (under the username "SalientOne") confirmed that Locke's armor is actually obtainable by everyone on Day 1, and that people who pre-order get it from the start. This indicates that whoever doesn't pre-order will most likely have to unlock the armor by different means, like completing the Campaign on Legendary or through Multiplayer Commendations (if Halo 5 even has them).

In the same post on NeoGAF, Josh confirmed that the Halo 5 behind-the-scenes development vidocs, The Sprint, will be returning. The release date for the second iteration of The Sprint has yet to be announced.

While I know some may disagree, I found Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel to be a very good game, especially for a studio that had never done a Borderlands title, and I was excited to see where 2K Australia went from there, however, it seems their creative light has been snuffed out. IGN.com reports that a shutdown will be underway and that the last AAA studio from Australia will be closing it's doors at an unreleased date. 2K said in an official statement, "We can confirm we have taken steps to begin the studio closure process for 2K Australia in order to better manage ongoing development costs while improving the working proximity of our creative teams. We are very grateful for the team’s valuable contributions to numerous 2K projects, and are working with affected staff to explore reassignment opportunities where possible." More news will be available at a later date about when exactly the studio will be going and how.

2K seems to be going through a bad patch financing games they can't afford, the scale of games like Bioshock Infinite and Borderlands 2 seemed to have sealed the fate of Irrational Games and 2K Australia as they need to compensate to make their rates. While it's sad to see 2K Australia go so early, they'll always be remembered for their work on Bioshock and Borderlands.

At this point, you either own Grand Theft Auto V, or you've heard of it, the game is so widespread there isn't a soul on this earth who hasn't. In large part because of this, GTA V's recent PC launch has broken a previous record on Steam, as reported by Polygon.com. You see, taking a few steps back, on November 11th, 2011, a little title by the name of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim released on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and topped Steam's record of non-Valve games at 280,000 players in one day. Well, a new alpha of the pack has risen, as GTA V topped off at 301,246 when it peaked in players today. The game launched to (still) successful reviews and has been in the running since back in Summer of 2014 for PC. GTA V is one of the only games to have such a life cycle where 2 years can pass and sales stay just as strong. Don't underestimate it though, DOTA 2 is still Steam's overall top dog with a player count bypassing a million, and Counter-Strike is nipping at it's heels. GTA V has a long way to go before becoming the king of Steam.

I must admit, Square Enix was seeming a bit dry as of late, but this news looks to have flipped that on it's head. Someone on NeoGaf.com revealed screenshots and a gameplay description of a new Deus Ex game called Mankind Divided. The game will center around Adam Jensen, the protagonist of the previous game Human Revolution. The plot details are light, but it is known that since Human Revolution, augmented and ordinary people have been separated into social castes, and this leads to conflict. As in the past, putting in more effort will reward more payout as your actions affect the course of the game, so going stealth is likely the best option. The AI has been heavily improved to make open combat a bit trickier as the new system's tactics will give players a run for their money. A host of old abilities have been improved, including some new blade/crossbow tricks, and a shield that Adam can utilize. There will be no transfer from your previous game, so as far as story goes, most decisions likely won't matter. The game will release on an unknown date as of yet for Xbox One, PS4, and the PC, no last generation launch due to the game's prowess.

GTA V is finally coming for PC, after tons of delays and bumps in the road, PC gamers will at last have their copy to mod and do as they please. GameSpot.com is reporting that the game is on it's final legs and that next week, Rockstar will allow PC gamers to pre-load their copy of GTA V on the PC. They will be able to do this through either Rockstar Warehouse, their own store, or through Steam. The game will require a hefty monitor system and about 65 GB of free install space, so pre-loading isn't a bad idea. The PC version is mostly the same in terms of features, with the exception of mod capability and the new Video Editor mode, but technically, the game will be able to run at 4K, as well as at 60FPS on triple-screen monitors and in shiny 3D. The PC version will officially launch April 14th, unless Rockstar pulls a late April Fools on us and decides to push it back another year.

Next month Xbox Live Gold members can get their hands on a total of six games rather than the usual 3-4 games. So lets see what Gold members will be getting in April.

For the Xbox One Gold users can get Pool Nation FX and Child of Light for free all month long in April.

For the Xbox 360 Gold members can download Terraria and Gears of War Judgment from April 1st through April 15th.

Then from April 16th Assassins Creed IV Black Flag and Army of Two Devil's Cartel and they will be available to download for free for the remainder of the month.

If you haven't been keeping up with all of your batman news, from the next delay for Arkham Knight to the Batgirl cover controversy, this may have slipped you by. GameSpot.com reports that inside sources confirm a remaster for the original award winning games Batman: Arkham Asylum and City. They are due a few months after Knight's release in Christmas, and will come to PS4 and Xbox One. It is unknown if the games will be getting a simple HD makeover or if assets will be updated, which may be possible for Asylum but unlikely for City. Strangely, Origins isn't being ported, despite a positive-mixed set of reviews. Warner Bros. has since refused to speak on the matter further besides the details we were given. This includes the total price of both games and whether they will be in a dual-package like Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. Arkham Knight is set to release this June 23rd, and will be available on all current gen consoles and PC only.

Evolve has been hammered for it's lack of content, and it looks like Turtle Rock Studios hopes to fix that this month with a new DLC for the game introducing 5 new characters. There are four hunters included in the pack when it launches, as confirmed on EvolveGame.com. Torvald, the Assault, a cyborg with a mortar ability, Crow, the Trapper, who has a bat-like creature at his disposal, Slim, the Medic, an insectoid who utilizes a power draining gun, and Sunny, a Support with a keen grenade launching rifle. On top of this, a crab-like monster is being tossed unto Shear known as Behemoth. All are available on the same date, March 31st, and will cost money to download, unless if you pre-ordered, in which you'll get Behemoth for free. All platforms will get the DLC on the same date for the same price, Turtle Rock has confirmed.

Microsoft believes that in due time people will start to see the benefits of a genuine licence over a parites version of the sofstware.

"We are excited to launch Windows 10 this summer. Anyone with a qualified device can upgrade to Window 10, including those with pirated copies of Windows. We believe customers over time will realise the value of properly licensing Windows and we will make it easy for them to move to legitimate copies."

Don't hesitate though, as the offer will only be available within the first year after the release. This goes for both the owners of the legitimate license and the pirates among us.

Vince added that other than the original Titanfall, which was a Microsoft exclusive, this sequel will now become multi-platform meaning it can and most likely will be made available for the PS4 as well as the Xbox and PC.

Zampella also told IGN that even though their main focus is the development of this sequel, they've created a smaller second team that works on smaller projects. What these smaller projects are is still unknown.

What little detail Vince did give was that even though they want to change things up a little, the basics stay the same. He sais that the multiplayer only route the game took was not the wrong one and that the sequel will be the same.

Even though that it did leave out a certain part of the gaming community which loves a good singleplayer campaign rather than the multiplayer campaign the original Titanfall had. He admits that they might need to find a better combination of multi- and singleplayer modes and that they'll certainly work towards that.

Another thing that will be different from the last game is that DLC will most likely be completely free. Vince said he liked the way the community reunited with the free season passes they gave away in celebration of Titanfalls anniversary aa paid DLC tends to seperate it. He cannot assure us of this yet, but does state that the way they'll handle DLC will certainly be different.

Xbox Head Phil Spencer unveiled their plans to intergrate Windows 10 and Xbox One for cross-platform gaming yesterday morning at the Game Developers Conference. User's on Xbox One and Windows 10 can now look forward to playing along side or against each other as Microsoft will be implementing this feature in the near future. 

"Now, we are also bringing that same focus, passion, and commitment to gaming on Windows 10, enhancing the PC games and gaming devices you already love, including the Xbox One. We’ve listened and learned from our past efforts in PC gaming and I am excited about what the future holds.” Spencer Said.

Back in January Microsoft revealed that Fable Legends will be coming to Windows 10, which will release the same day as the Xbox One version. Fable fans playing on Windows 10 can enjoy cross-platform experience with Xbox One users using the Xbox One app, and it will be just one of many gaming franchise from Microsoft studios and other developers that will feature Xbox One/Windows 10 cross-platforming using the built-in Xbox app.

Other features that will come with this is having the ability to stream your Xbox One games over a home network on to your Windows 10 computer and other devices such as tablets. This means Xbox One users can play their games on another Windows 10 devices. Xbox One's game DVR feature will also be accessible on Windows 10 PC's.

Microsoft will also be expanding their ID@Xbox program over to Windows 10, developers will then be able publish their games on the new operating system as well as Xbox One allowing their games to have cross-platform accessibility.

Wolfenstein made a smashing return in 2014 with the release of The New Order, now under Bethesda and Machine Games's careful watch, and the game was critically acclaimed, with a nomination for Shooter of the Year and Best Narrative from the VGAs. This May, as IGN.com reported, we'll be returning to the Nazi occupied world with a prequel standalone titled Wolfenstein: The Old Blood. The add-on will return to the Castle Wolfenstein style gameplay, and one part of the game even takes place there as the old protagonist BJ hunts for the coordinates to Deathshead's compound, which is where the first game started off. Part II of the story follows BJ tracking down and assassinating a Nazi Archaeologist in Wulfburg who threatens releasing an ancient mystical power, Hellboy style. It will be available digitally as a standalone game for about $20 in the US and £14.99 in Europe. The game will not be releasing for the Xbox 360 or PS3 like it's main title did, strangely, so only current gen consoles and PC will get the add-on.

Microsoft is offering a limited-edition White Xbox One (no Kinect) with a copy of Sunset Overdrive for £279.99. That is £70 cheaper than what it was going for before. This savings bundle can be purchased on the Microsoft store site.

Another bundle Microsoft is offering is an Xbox One (with Kinect) along with Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag, Assassins Creed Unity and a £20 store voucher for £299.99. This bundle saves the buyer a total of £100 and can also be purchased on the Microsoft store.

Microsoft has been cutting the prices of the Xbox One for the past year when they first offered a Kinect-less Xbox One for around £350 with many other bundles and prices cut to follow. These deals Microsoft is currently offering certainly seem to be some of the cheapest bundles yet.

He always comes back...

For those who don't know Slender, it all started with a simple indie-like game in which you were dropped on the middle of a forrest at night and had one simple objective, find all 8 notes scattered throughout the forrest. And if walking through a dark forrest with only a flashlight wasn't enough already... You were also being chased by a monster called "Slender Man" based of and internet phenomena. If you search Slender on Google you will quickly find more information on him. He appears as a long 'slender' being with a pale white skin, no face and in a fancy tuxedo with large tentacle like arms coming out of his back. He's often seen on the background of seemingly innocent photo's.

And now this creature is chasing you throughout the forrest and only appears when you look behind you, just standing there... watching you...

The more notes you collect the more he will appear and if you're not careful... catch you.

Slender: The Arrival was a of sequel to this and has more of a story instead of mindlessly collecting notes for no reason.

The story is set around Kate, who is searching for her friend Lauren. Lauren has become obsessed with the internet phenomenon Slender Man and went investigating. Of course Lauren disappeared and it is now up to you to find out where she is or what happened to her. Surprisingly enough her trail leads you through a variety of spooky locations with each their own objective to progress. All of this while being chased by the infamous Slender Man.

If he manages to get you not only will you be sent back to the last checkpoint (which probably is the beginning of the chapter) but the objectives will be moved aswell, giving you no certainty whatsoever on the locations of your objectives, even after playing it 10 times.

The game originally launched on Steam in 2013 and was released for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 last September. In the meantime levels were added to the Steam version which will now also become available to the Xbox One and Playstation 4.

According to Blue Isle Studios the game will be available for Xbox One and Playstation 4 on March 25th for $9,99. US players will get the Playstation 4 version one day earlier on March 24th.

Near my home-town, in Rochester, New York, some really interesting stuff is going on that may allow people to see Video Games as much more a form of art than before. As IGN.com reports, The Strong, a national foundation, has set up a museum involving famous and culturally impactful games, the World Video Game Hall of Fame. To get into the museum, a game is judged based upon it's reach around the world, the status of it's icon, the game's longevity and replayability, and finally it's overall influence. Games can come from any device, from the Xbox, to the PlayStation, to the PC, Wii, DS, or even indie consoles like the Ouya or mobiles. You can actually nominate a video game on The Strong's web-page, and it will be reviewed by a panel of high profile figures like journalists, developers, and gamers themselves.

This is a very good idea to show the modern public, and modern media, that gamers are no longer just a group of basement dwellers and games are no longer just mindless entertainment.
