According to EA, "The Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack is inspired by a decade-long manhunt in some of the world's most dangerous places: Darra Gun Market and Chitral Compound."

Describing the two maps, the publisher says, "Darra is home to dozens of back-alley shops and self-taught machinists making guns by hand. Set in "the shattered districts, streets and cities of post-earthquake Iran", Aftermath will introduce new weapons, vehicles and multiplayer game modes.

DICE says of the DLC: "Players will struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation, with heavily modified vehicles and the all-new crossbow at their disposal.

"Battlefield 3: Aftermath features all multiplayer game modes from the base game, plus the all-new Scavenger mode. In Scavenger mode, lost soldiers start equipped with only a knife, one grenade, and sidearm and must search the environment for more powerful weapons to increase their chance at surviving and eventually winning."

Priced at $14.99, Aftermath will be released for PS3 Battlefield Premium members on November 27. Xbox 360 and PC Premium subscribers will get access on December 4, all other PS3 players on December 11, and everyone else on December 18.

Xbox 360's dashboard update is rolling out today (October 16).

The latest version of the console's firmware is downloadable today for some users, and will be gradually made available for everyone over the next few weeks.

"Our initial deployment will reach approximately three million consoles worldwide, with additional users being updated over the course of a couple of weeks," said director of programming Larry Hryb.

"Don't panic if you don't see an immediate update, just keep checking back in."

The update refreshes the 'Metro' branded interface with a tweaked layout of tiles, combines the TV and Movies channels, and in the US, introduces a sports channel.

Internet Explorer will be added for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, allowing users to browse the web with a controller or Kinect.

Searching is now expanded to genre, while voice search now includes YouTube, and is available to new countries including Ireland, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Italy, Spain and Austria.

Favourite content can be pinned to the dashboard, allowing fast access to games, TV shows, music, videos and websites.

Similarly, Quick Play will be rebranded as Recent, providing a list of games, movies and apps last used on the console.

Zune Video Marketplace is to be rebranded as Xbox Video, offering hundreds of thousands of TV shows and movies available for purchase or renting.

The recently announced Xbox Music will also be made available today.

"Inquisitive PC players have been rooting around in the game’s code following the most recent update and found some telling files, named “DLC2” and “Dragonborn.”

Also contained within the code are dragon riding animations. Apparently you’ll be able to jump on the back of a dragon a ride the scaly ******* around, casting magic as you go!This geek’s brain just exploded.

There’s more too. Wrapped up in the game’s code is evidence to suggest that Dragonborn will add new locations too, with quest markers found for Solstheim, Telvanni, Castle Karstaag, Raven Rock and Miraak Temple.

Solstheim and Raven Rock are locations to the east of Skyrim and share the same frosty environments. Telvanni, meanwhile, is the name of one of the six great houses of Morrowind, the setting for The Elder Scrolls III.

Castle Karstaag is a little more mysterious. Karstaag is the name of a giant monster creature that appeared in The Elder Scrolls III expansion, Bloodmoon. But Karstaag Castle? Thats a first for the series.

In addition to all this there’s also entries for Bonemold, Chitin, Nordic and Stalhrim armour varieties. Be excited."
