The hunt for a specific Easter Egg in Halo 3 began in 2012 when a bungie.net user that goes by the name of "Its A Mirage" asked a question for Bungie's mail sack. The user asked a question to the participating employees of the mail sack regarding Easter Eggs. One of the employees, Jon Cable, replied to the question confirming there are undiscovered Easter Eggs still out there.

"Its A Mirage - Are there any Easter eggs from your past games that surprised you at how quickly they were found or any that surprised you at how long they took to find?"

"Definitely the IWHBYD skull in H3. But you cheated. There is one Easter egg in Halo 3 that I don't think anyone has found - I stumbled across it in code a while back. It only happens on a specific day...so good luck.

Jon Cable"

After seeing that response members from the Bungie/Halo community tried to find the Easter Egg but had no luck tracking it down. In a later mail sack (no link available) another bungie.net user asked a question for the Q&A.

"What is your proudest moment in your time at Bungie?"

"Showing my wife the Easter egg I put in the halo 3 loading screen for her - the one that nobody has found yet.

Adrian Perez"

This time there was a hint to where players may find it, on the loading screen in Halo 3 on a specific date. For two years nobody had found until yesterday when a video was uploaded to Youtube by user "Lord Zedd"

The date when the Easter Egg would appear is December 25th and on the Halo ring in the loading screen had a message along the side of it saying "Happy Birthday Lauren!", Lauren is Adrian Perez's wife. Lord Zedd was able to find it by changing the date while offline on his Xbox to the required date.

So there you have it, the hunt for famous Halo 3 loading screen Easter Egg is now over and can now be added to the long list of Halo 3's discovered Easter Eggs and Halo overall.

Leave your thoughts on this discovery below.

343 Industries announced yesterday that there will be six Halo 2 multiplayer maps that will have new updated graphics as part of the Halo 2: Anniversary edition in The Master Chief collection.

We know Ascension will be among the six graphically upgraded maps as we seen it in the brief Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer demo. Now Frank O'Connor has announced another two other maps of the six that will be getting a new coat of paint and those maps are Lockout and Zanzibar.

Frank O'Connor confirmed this on Neogaf not so long ago.

"Remade H2 faves, with proprietary graphics and a modified version of h2 gameplay. Lockout, Ascension, Zanzi...

OG maps and gameplay completely intact. It's extra content."

Now he didn't fully say the word "Zanzibar" but it's pretty safe to say that he meant to say it, he is most likely just teasing. According to Microsoft/343 Industries we will be getting Halo news everyday over the course of E3 so by the end of the working week we could have all six Halo 2 maps confirmed of a makeover.

What do you think of those two maps being confirmed for a graphics update? What maps would you like to see among the next three?

Speculations have been running around for a long time if Armor Abilities will be making a return in Halo 5 and in the Halo 5: Guardians teaser trailer at E3 today it said "All new Spartan Abilities", this lead to further assumption that this caption meant Armor Abilities and therefore they will be returning. But Frank O'Connor (aka Stinkles on Neogaf) responded to a concerned user refarding Armor Abilities.

Frank O'connor confirmed that Armor Abilities would not be making a return and that "Spartan Abilities" does not mean Armor Abilities but they are feature like being able to hijack vehicles.

"Not thrilled that armor abilities seem to be making a return."

Frank replies

"They aren't. The wording is confusing but it means. "features". Using h2 as an example, new features would have been dual wielding and boarding."

So Armor Abilities are not making a return in Halo 5: Guardians, could this be the beginning of Halo going back to it's old roots again? Are you happy or unhappy to hear the confirmation of Armor Abilities not making a return?

343industries has striked up a multi-year partnership with Astro Gaming.

Astro Gaming creates various forms of video game equipment, most specifically headsets. Details of what type of Halo-related material Astro will be constructing has not yet been released, but we do have an official statement from 343 industries on the deal:

One of the most anticipated Minecraft Packs, the Halo Mash-Up Pack, has had a recent reveal of more screenshots for some pre-loaded fan-favorite maps from the old and new days.

The Minecraft Halo Mash-Up Pack seems to be a block-filled redesign of some old fan-favorite worlds, as Halo Waypoint has shown. These include the famous Blood Gulch, Lockout (or Blackout from Halo 3), Valhalla, Halo, Sandtrap, and Guardian to name a few of the multi-player ones, with Silent Cartographer and the Cryptum in which the Didact is awakened is also going to be included. 40 character skins will also be included in the pack, letting us play as some of our favorites from the series, on our favorite maps. As well, music and textures have been changed to make for an awesome new Halo experience on Minecraft.

343 Industries' own Frank O'Connor, who's been with the team since it's start, has spoken out about leaks regarding games and their faults.

Halo is a series well known by a large number of supposed leaks before a Halo game's launch, often revealing key points that would have otherwise been a surprise. Frank O'Connor, Halo's development director, took to NeoGaf.com to speak about leaks and the drastic problems they cause for developers, likely referring to the large number of recent Xbox related leaks and Halo leaks, but speaking about the Industry in general. He said, "Ultimately he [the leaker] is taking or being given information and leaking it, illegally and often erroneously. And he isn't doing it for some noble or worthy reason. He's doing it for attention." He also referred to it's proclamation as a prophecy, saying that it's "just annoying" and not assisting or helpful in any outcome to the developer or player. Frankie also discussed the overall dissatisfaction and worthlessness of leaking, even mentioning termination of employees for such issues, "It's not fun, and for what? So you can have a mildly interesting surprise 8 hours early and lacking context? Or get hyped or disappointed disproportionately? Or get someone fired or someone innocent yelled at?" This could hint at some of the previous Anniversary or Master Chief Collection rumors being completely true, or the opposite as the leaks could cause false hype.

Do you think this is a ret-con or hint at some previous Halo rumors to go out publicly and make a full speech about leaking? Let me know below, thanks for the read!

In the announcement of 343 Industries' next big game in the Halo universe "Halo 5: Guardians" they posted a piece of concept art on their site, Halo Waypoint, have a look below.

So, if you look at the image the main focus of this piece of art is of a group of buildings of some kind of facility, the buildings appear to have been built in a canyon within and around rocky cliffs that seem to be located in a desert landscape, possibly the same world that Master Chief was on in the 2013 E3 trailer, we can also see a person or a humanoid being walking through the grounds of the buildings.

The architecture of the buildings themselves don't seem to be very Human or Forerunner like, so it leaves the question of who built them and what is the purpose of this facility? If you look at the huge rock pillar there seems to be (I could be wrong) a giant sitting or standing against it holding and looking at an object, a weapon perhaps? could that thing be a Guardian if it is in fact a living being or an AI? Is it just a statue?

In the sky there are what appears to be tentacled creatures (or some kind of odd ships?) flying over the cliffs that may leave a burning question to many of what they are. Also in the sky there are two suns that are bearing down on to the world, where this place is a mystery at this point until we get more information further down the road.

So what do you think of this piece of art, where do you think it is set?

As of today the next instalment of the Master Chief's adventure has been confirmed as Halo 5: Guardians! The cover art, in addition to the Master Chief, also shows a mysterious second Spartan whom Josh Holmes later confirmed amid rampant speculation would be a completely new male character. In the announcement, 343 Industries also revealed that there would be even more exciting news about the Halo universe in Microsoft's forthcoming E3 presentation, and strongly implied that we might be seeing another Halo game before the year's end.

This is a really exciting piece of news for all Halo fans, and although it does little to provide concrete information on the future of Halo, there's sure to be plenty of speculation in the coming days and weeks.

In the wake of the newly announced Halo 5: Guardians, a collection of Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 all remastered in HD for the Xbox One are rumored to come soon to market!

Halo 5: Guardians already has Halo fans pumped and ready for E3 and beyond, and with so much to decipher about the un-turned stones rooted in this news, I've decided to take a different turn and talk about a recent Halo rumor. Engadget.com recently posted an article themselves confirming the collection, with backing that Microsoft themselves said they would release as much Halo as possible. They stated how 3 year titles would not be frequent, and with Sabre Interactive already working on an unannounced title, could it be possible that it's a large collection for Xbox One rather than just Halo 2 Anniversary, as viable as the idea is? The full description also states that, "Our sources say that the set will zero in on Halo's most famous soldier to refresh audience's memories ahead of Halo 5's release, so curiosities like Halo 3: ODST and Halo: Reach likely won't be a part of the package. " This could be an off-put for some who love ODST and Reach, as well as the ever-forgotten RTS Halo Wars.

View attachment: HaloCEPoster.jpg

Would you want a Collection of all four of the classics on Xbox One, or do you just want 343i to focus on their core titles? Debate, and be sure to like and comment, thanks for reading!

Little is know about this other than the screenshot above, but it appears to be a Halo themed Mash Pack- DLC for Minecraft that features music, various re-skinned blocks and items, and character skins.

A new Halo 5 multiplayer modus in the making!

Although we don't have much info on the upcoming Halo title we now do know 343i wants to implement a new modes in the Halo 5 multiplayer.

343i has started hiring for a person who can:

-Implement and execute competetive multiplayer features

-Fine tune the existing multiplayer experience

-Create and implement a brand new multiplayer modes

Now the last one seems highly interesting since even 343i doesn't know what it'll be. Although they would have to give their blessing first.

What kind of modes would you like to see in Halo 5?

"And now for something completely different."

Destiny will have no initial PvP.

Got the game and wanna shoot some other players?

Tough luck, because Bungie has made it so that you'll first need to play a couple of hours before you can blast your opponents to bits.

Now I know this sounds bad but there is logic behind this madness.

In Destiny you will start without a 'super attack' and without this you'd be completely destroyed by opponents who do have this ability.

And who likes getting blown up without defence?

In order to 'unlock' competetive multiplayer you'll first have to complete several missions, get you super attack and find a special weapon.

Only then you'll fully understand how the game works and you'll be on your merry way.

See at as some kind of tutorial.

There hasn't been much info on the competetive multiplayer side of Destiny so far.

Keep an eye out on E3 this year.

Do you like the way Bungie handles this situation?

As always leave answers and comments down below!

Ridley Scott, known for his work on Alien and Blade Runner, will be working with 343i, Microsoft, and other legendary film industry names to produce a separate Halo Digital Feature.

The Halo TV Series has been under wraps for quite some time, and rumors began circulating as to whether a film might be in production. According to TheWrap.com, we have a separate feature on the way for the Halo franchise. Listed people include the legendary Ridley Scott, Paul Scheuring, and David Zucker, taking on the roles of Executive Producer, Writer, and Assistant to the Executive Producer. Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, known well for Battlestar Galactica, is confirmed to direct the feature. This will likely not hit the big screen and remain as a digital or DVD copy at best. Additionally, Microsoft said that this film is, “completely separate from the premium Halo television series executive produced by Steven Spielberg, which is still on track.” as well they stated that the plot would follow a, “surgically-enhanced super soldier who is not Master Chief”.
