<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">After announcing that the next update for Halo: The Masterchief Collection would first be beta tested, 343i now pulls the plug on this idea.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Some time ago 343i announced that the next update for Halo: The Masterchief Collection would get an update so huge that it would have to go through beta testing first to ensure it not breaking the entire game. An article on that can be read </span></span></span><a href="http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/39397-halo-the-master-chief-collection-update-beta" rel="external nofollow">here</a><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Now 343i cancels this beta that would become available for Xbox One Preview members in North America somehwere in the near future because it would become too time consuming as it would need some more updates to be enabled. The company now decides that it would be best if they test it thoroughly themselves internally.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><em><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">"After further evaluation, the team has determined that that final testing for the content update will be completed internally, and we will not be conducting a beta test for the next CU. Also, it was determined that the additional time and work devoted to the beta would’ve actually postponed the public availability of the content update. Lastly, there were some added challenges surrounding the CU beta – including an extra series of required updates and rollbacks - that made us take a step back and reexamine the CU beta. Ultimately, this plan will allow us to deliver the smoothest possible experience, and ensure that the next content update becomes available as soon as possible."</span></span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">~Bravo</span></span></em></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">An final release date for most likely the biggest patch for the game yet had not yet been set as the team is also working hard on several updates that will be released even later.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><em><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">"Progress on the CU continues, and we’ll work to provide an ETA once the final date is locked. As stated last week, our current focus and priority remains delivering the upcoming improvements to the matchmaking and party systems, but the team is also working on and prioritizing additional items beyond this, and I look forward to discussing these – a lot more – as we get closer to those updates."</span></span></em></p>
<p><em><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">~Bravo</span></span></em></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:12px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">In the previous report some of you guys seemed to be rather skeptical about beta testing an update. Does this remedy or worsen your concerns?</span></span></span></p>

<div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:24px;"><span style="color:#40e0d0;">Halo Community Feedback Program Announced</span></span></p></div>

<p> </p>
<p></p>
<div style="text-align:center;">
<p><span style="color:#40e0d0;">In a </span><span style="color:#00ffff;">recent move to get the community even more engaged with the development of Halo, 343Industries announced today the Halo Community Feedback Program, a series of surveys over the coming months to those who sign up. This comes as a welcome surprise to many Halo fans, especially after the controversial Halo 5 Beta earlier this month. According to the </span></p>
<a href="http://www.studiosuserresearch.com/HaloCommunityFeedbackProgramFAQ.html" rel="external nofollow"><span style="color:#ffff00;">FAQ</span></a><span style="color:#00ffff;"> on Halowaypoint, "The goal of the program is to get better insights from Halo fans about the games they love." </span>
</div>
<p></p>
<p></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p></p>
<div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#00ffff;">343Industries expects members of the program to take small surveys each month, which are then complied and given directly to design teams with 343I. They plan to mix who gets which survey each time one comes out, to help vary the results. 343i expects to share the results back to the survey takers, and get additional feedback as development goes on. Additionally, 343Industries promises "to provide unique perks for people who join." What those perks will be has not been announced, however 343I did mention they plan to make sure people know who the survey takers are. Although not all the surveys will be explicitly about Halo, 343I hopes to gain valuable insight from the Halo community.</span></p></div>
<p></p>
<p></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p></p>
<div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="color:#00ffff;">To join the program, one must reside within the United States or the European Union, needs an xbox live account, and an e-mail to receive the monthly surveys. </span></p></div>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">Greetings, forum.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">Recently, 343 Industries announced their first digital novel, Halo: New Blood. This will feature ODST Edward Buck, also known as 'Bucky'. He's only been seen in Halo 3: ODST, but this novel will show us how he gets on </span><span style="color:#ffffff;"><em>after</em></span><span style="color:#ffffff;"> the Human-Covenant War. With the Chief being listed as MIA and several other Spartans being killed in battle, the new Spartan-IV program is introduced. After the UNSC recognising Buck's heroic efforts in the Human-Covenant War, they leave him with two options. He can either retire to a luxurious life, or take up a promotion and become a Spartan-IV. Buck has to make a life-changing decision. Will he retire and live the nice, peaceful life any veteran soldier would love? Or, will he join the new Spartan program and continue to fight whatever force opposes mankind?</span></p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Halo: The Master Chief Collection Update Beta</span></span></strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">Before 343i releases the next update for Halo: The Masterchief Collection they want to beta teast it first.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;">A few days ago the patch notes for the upcoming update for Halo: The Master Chief Collection were revealed on Halowaypoint and covered by EK. His article can be found </span><a href="http://www.343industries.org/forum/topic/39375-halo-the-master-chief-collection-patch-notes-revealed/" rel="external nofollow">here</a><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">But instead of the usual download prompt everyone gets the following week, a select group of people will get to beta test it first before it is released to the general public. Yes you read it right, a beta for an update.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Members of the Xbox One preview programme located in North America will recieve a message from Xbox Live somewhere these days with an opt-in download to download the upcoming patch to beta test it. A Q&amp;A on how this will all go down for the preview programme members in Noth America can be found </span></span><a href="https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/1-23-15-mcc-content-update-beta-test-faq" rel="external nofollow">here</a><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">The Beta will run from January the 23rd to January the 26th and will eat up 1-2GB of your HDD.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">The reason why it will only be tested in North America is to ensure a maximum amount of players during the evening in North America. <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">A date for the public roll-out of the update has not been released yet.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">What do you think of this idea to beta test an update?</span></span></p>

<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">343i has released a set of Patch Notes for the Master Chief Collection that feature some new tweaks to the game and essential error fixes. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">If you don't consider the recent constant updating and tweaking to Halo: The Master Chief Collection after it's disastrous launch a huge red flag of 'Damage Control', I don't know what you would replace it with. Thankfully, 343i is doing their best to fix the game with a new patch now available for download, notes available on </span><a href="https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/the-latest-on-halo-the-master-chief-collection-content-playlist-updates" rel="external nofollow"><span style="color:#00ffff;">HaloWaypoint.com</span></a><span style="color:#00ffff;">. The update makes massive changes to multiplayer searching increasing the success rate for matches and downplaying the 'Awaiting Privileges' error people received, among other small fixes such as sound tweaks to the countdown timer. The major general update to multiplayer was in the form of updating Halo 2 Anniversary's connection and decreasing bandwidth spikes. Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4's campaigns received stat tracking updates, and Halo 3 and 4's scoring for penalties for empty vehicles have been updated. The menus had minor changes such as the booming music volume being lowered and updates to multiplayer status messaging and drop out removal of emblems. If you are one of the six total people who use the Legacy controller scheme, you might have to adjust a bit as the scheme has been enhanced a bit, and finally, stability across all titles has been improved.</span></p>

<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">It's great that they're looking to fix this stuff, but I want to see more focus on glaring issues such as connection between countries and states being improved as well as the game's blatant empty matchmaking system. There aren't enough game modes right now to make matchmaking viable, even with most people having an easier time getting into a game, and campaign is a mess with friends from different areas with bad connections, hell, I tried playing with Self Destruct (who lives in the US) and Halo 5 Follower (Australia), and only my framerate dropped with Halo 5, but I'd get kicked with SD. Anyway, what do you think could be improved besides the above? Let me know in the thread below, and I'll catch ya'll next time.</span></p>

<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">The popular prequel to the hit Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, is coming to Halo: The Master Chief Collection along with a remake of the popular Halo 2 map, Relic!</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">I'm not kidding, I shivered with excitement when I saw this post because of my immense love for Halo 3: ODST and my love for Relic. On </span><a href="https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/halo-the-master-chief-collection-thank-you" rel="external nofollow"><span style="color:#00ffff;">HaloWaypoint.com</span></a><span style="color:#00ffff;">, Bonnie Ross revealed what's in store for fans who were disappointed with the rocky launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Some small bonuses are a month of Xbox Live Gold and a nameplate and avatar in-game. The bigger bonuses, if you've played Halo: TMCC from it's launch to today you can pick up Halo 3: ODST and the Halo 2 map Relic, both redone in 1080p 60fps, with Relic getting the anniversary treatment and ODST being up-scaled. No release date for either the map or the additional game have been revealed but 343i has promised more on the two in the upcoming months. The sad news, if you haven't bought Halo: The Master Chief Collection before this date (19.12.14), you aren't entitled to any of the aforementioned content for free, and might not be entitled to it at all unless 343i decides to sell it. On the subject of ODST, it seems to only be the campaign that's being ported as of yet.</span></p>
<p> </p>

<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">This is fantastic news and is more certainly a great way to repay fans who were disappointed, I am extremely proud of 343i and Microsoft for putting resources into listening and giving us what we want. Are you excited for ODST to return, what about Relic? Let me know down below! Thanks for reading!</span></p>

<p><strong>Xbox One preview members will have a chance to play the Halo 5: Guardians beta this weekend ten days before the official launch Microsoft has confirmed. </strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p><img alt="gallery_12241_647_17954.jpg" src="http://www.343industries.org/forum/fileshare/gallery/album_647/gallery_12241_647_17954.jpg"></p>
<p> </p>
<p>Xbox One users who have enrolled in the preview program will be given early access to the Halo 5: Guardians beta this weekend. Microsoft have been sending messages to those who are part of the program and they also have made an announcement on the preview dashboard with all the details. The beta will begin at 4PM EST today and will end at 3AM EST on December 22nd. Two codes will be sent out from today, one will allow members to download the beta to the console and the other code will grant access to the beta itself. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>The early access is for all preview members and not restricted to those who have bought Halo: The Mater Chief Collection, although to gain access to the full length beta which launches on December 29th, Xbox One owners must have purchased the Master Chief Collection. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>So remember if you aren't an owner of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection but have enrolled in the Xbox One preview program this is your chance to experience the beta as it is only available for a few days.</p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Halo 5: Guardians Beta spectator mode and more info</span></span></strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">The Halo 5: Guardians beta is almost here! And with the release coming closer we get some more info on what to expect from it when it becomes available.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Jay Frechette, who hosts the Bulletin on the Halo Channel, sat down with 343i's executive producer Josh Holmes to discuss the upcoming beta and what we can expect.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">First off we see that the beta as it is now has been thoroughly tested not only by 343i themselves but by a lot of pro circuit playes like Ghandi and Pistola. Their feedback is obviously very important as is ours when we get our hands on.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Next up they bring up implementing something entirely new to the Halo series, but not very new to first person shooters, called spectator mode. If you want to watch one of your friends kicking butt you now have the option to do so without sitting next to them.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:10px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">(...or having them know if you're into creeping)</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">There will be a few seconds delay on the watchers end so you can't cheat by having someone ghost and calling out where the enemies are. Pretty neat feature if I may say so myself! And it is ofcourse available in the beta.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Last up they mention an interactive feature in the beta. We, the players, can cast a vote each week on a poll that 343i puts up containing something that will be implemented that week. And lucky us they give away what we get to vote on in week 2 and 3. In week 2 we get to vote for which power weapon gets placed on what map and week 3 we get to vote which map we'll get to play.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">The beta will drop 29th of December and will run untill the 19th of January. Happy New Year!</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Have you already seen something you want added/removed in Halo 5: Guardians?</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Let us know down below!</span></span></span></p>

<p><strong><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;">Halo: The Master Chief Collection FIXED?!</span></span></strong></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">As some of you might have noticed when you started The Master Chief Collection today, there's been an update (103MB).</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Is it finally fixed now?!</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Well the answer is both yes and no...</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Yes in that matchmaking works properly now. No more exessive waiting times and working consecutive matches.</span></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">But no as in there are still a few kinks here and there. But luckely these will be fixed in the near future.</span></span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Here are the patch notes:</span></span></span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Made a change to allow for matches to start once minimum player counts are met, allowing for faster matching times.</span></span><br>
</li>
<li><br></li>
<li>
<span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Made an update to resolve issues that caused false matches to be created, which resulted in a variety of matchmaking issues, including slow matchmaking and bad session starts.</span></span><br>
</li>
<li><br></li>
<li>
<span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Streamlined the process for maintaining party continuity through the matchmaking process.</span></span><br>
</li>
<li><br></li>
<li>
<span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Made an update to the high-level matchmaking flow that will reset lobbies after each match. Moving forward, players and party leaders need to press "B" after the post-game-carnage report, and select a playlist for their next match. This flow is consistent with previous Halo titles.</span></span><br>
</li>
<li><br></li>
<li>
<span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Improved user experience through removal of non-actionable error messages. This will allow for a more seamless matchmaking flow with less interruption and confusion.</span></span><br>
</li>
<li><br></li>
<li>
<span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Improved the post-game experience to fix an issue that could result in a player getting sent to another player’s lobby, rather than returning to the matchmaking screen.</span></span><br>
</li>
<li><br></li>
</ul>
<p></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">And my god what a difference this makes! I've done a test run on Halo today with 2 friends and we were just able to stick together in a lobby and keep on playing with no freezing or having to force quit the game.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">The only thing that does need to be noted is that team balancing might still be a bit off here and there with a one player difference between games. 343i has insured us that this issue will be adressed in the update next week.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Have you experienced the improvement?</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><span style="font-size:14px;">Let us know down below!</span></span></p>

<div style="text-align:center;"><img alt="Ni5yfJT.jpg" src="https://www.343industries.org/forum/uploads/imageproxy/Ni5yfJT.jpg.9265e8ef5118faaeb9d8ea3c612d409a.jpg"></div>
<p></p>
<p></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">A colossal amount of information was just revealed for the Halo 5 Beta at HaloFest this year </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(I'm talking ALLOT of info)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. The whole video is at the bottom of this article.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Oh, and I'm sure I got some of the information wrong, so feel free to correct me if you see any errors. </span><img alt=":)" src="https://www.343industries.org/forum/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png"></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Here's the gist:</span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">Everyone starts the same. Every Spartan Ability </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,153,255);"><em>(I'll detail those later on in this article)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">, and Weapon </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,153,255);"><em>(starter primary, secondary, and grenades)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> is given to the player at the beginning. No Loadouts. Like how Halos 1-3 were played.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">All weapons contain a zoom feature, with some akin to ADS </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,153,255);"><em>(Aim Down Sights)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. Not all weapons have this, like the DMR </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,153,255);"><em>(the DMR is nearly the same as it's H4 counterpart Scope wise, and aesthetically)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">There seems to be a before, and after game animation for each Player Team that shows their aesthetics. The winning team taunts the other team in bravado.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">Everything listed in this article is based off of work-in-progress material in the Beta. So it's not final. The time the Beta releases makes it the earliest public Halo Beta ever released.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">There are a total of 7 maps that will be able to be played on in the Beta.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">There are now Weapons on map as in previous Halo games. NO MORE ORDINANCE.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">There will be three game modes in the Beta. What they exactly are is not clear, but it's certain Multiplayer is one of them.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">Power Weapons run on static timers. So a weapon like the Prophet's Bane comes around every 4 minutes.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">There's a Shield Bar, and Health Bar, but I'm not quite sure how they work.</span><br>
</li>
</ul>
<p></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Random information from HaloFest:</span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">343i has an internal Pro team they use to test the game. What's pretty funny is that they have Pros vs. Devs... and the Devs get completely destroyed in Halo 5 MP lol. One match was 50-4.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">Most of the play-testers </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(like Josh Holmes, some Pro players, and a few other devs)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> will be online playing with the community when the Beta launches.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;">A couple celebrities came to HaloFest... like: Wayne Brady from "Let's Make A Deal" </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(that dude is hilarious)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">, Joel Mchale from "Community", and Ben Schwartz from "House of Lies".</span><br>
</li>
</ul>
<p></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p></p>
<div style="text-align:center;"><p><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:24px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,255,255);"><strong>Spartan Abilities / Movement &amp; Scoping mechanics:</strong></span></span></span></p></div>
<p></p>

<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Spartan Abilities are like Dual Wield, and Vehicle Highjacking. They are abilities given to each and every player, and are </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>not </strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">separate entities that can only be used one at a time </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,153,255);"><em>(like Armor Abilities)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">The idea behind them is basically to give power to the player. To make them feel like a Spartan should. Multiple quotes from devs of 343i describe Spartans with </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><em><span style="color:rgb(175,238,238);">"Speed. Power. Agility. Myth of them being Superheros. Wrapped in Technology. 1000 Pound Jetfighter/Tank on legs. Total destruction machine"</span></em></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. 343i wanted to bring that into the game as a 4th layer to the </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Weapon, Melee, Grenades</strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> triad dynamic.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Like stated before, Spartan Abilities are given to all players at the beginning. No one starts off on the wrong foot. If a player wants to use Thruster Pack then they can. If someone wants to use Ground Pound, they can do that too. </span></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>Spartan Abilities listed in HaloFest:</strong></span></p>
<ul>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Thruster Pack: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Rocket jets built into the Spartan suit allow the Player to dodge quickly in </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><em>any</em></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> direction, "double jump" </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(jump in the air, activate the TP, and increase the jump height)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">, hover to allow slower landing velocity, and a speed boost while running. One of the Pro Scrimmage announcers notes that the Thruster cool-down is around 4 seconds.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Ground Pound: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">When up in the air you can hold a </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(I think it's the right thumbstick)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> button to target the ground with a circular reticule.</span><span style="color:#0099ff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Once released, the Player will fly towards the ground with a subconscious Jet Thrust, and make a small impact shock-wave </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(I'm not sure how powerful it will be)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. You can double jump using Thruster Pack to achieve a greater height to use Ground Pound.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Clamber: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Like mantling over objects in Call of Duty </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(running, and grabbing ledges to pull yourself up and such)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">, Clamber allows the player to basically do the same.</span><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Clamber, which I think is double tapping the</span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ff00;"><strong> Jump </strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">button, allows you jump and mount up/over edges on walls and structures</span><strong><span style="font-size:18px;"> </span></strong><span style="color:#0099ff;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><em>(if they're low enough)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. You can also jump down to grind over a lower platform's ledge to save yourself from falling </span><span style="font-size:18px;">to your death.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Slide: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Once terminal velocity/max speed is reached with Sprint </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(it's noted by wind-like lines around your HUD)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> you'll be able to fall backwards in a slide</span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong> </strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">to: Dive into cover more quickly, go underneath an obstacle, or take an enemy player by surprise</span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong> </strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">with a weapon like the Shotgun.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Charge: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Like the name suggests, Charge is basically a Thruster Pack forward ramming attack activated by the </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#ff0000;"><strong>Melee</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> button at Sprint max speed, similar to Slide.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Sprint: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Sprint is nearly the same as it's Halo 4 counterpart, BUT there's a catch:</span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong> </strong></span></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong>it's connected to your shields</strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. When using Sprint you will be unable to recharge your shields: No matter how long you run. </span><span style="font-size:18px;">So if your shields are down, and you decide to run away, then you're basically screwed anyway </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(Hey that rhymed... kinda)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Smart Scope: </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">A cybernetic-ally linked zoom attached to the Spartan HUD. EVERY weapon that did not have a zoom feature now has this feature </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(it seems for Weapons that don't have Scopes you look through)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. A gun like the DMR or Sniper Rifle has the regular Scoped-in-function as before, but a gun as the AR with no scope utilizes Smart Scope </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(increased reticule size, and a "zoom-in". Not direct iron sights)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">.</span> <span style="font-size:18px;">Hip-firing is still accurate, but Smart Scope seems to be more so.</span> <span style="font-size:18px;">Anyone using the zoom button for their weapon can get de-scoped from enemy fire. Movement speed looks like it's slowed down from first glance when scoped in. Josh Holmes from 343i states that </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><span style="color:#afeeee;"><em>"No penalty to hip fire in H5, no movement penalty when scoping/zooming, no flinch,"</em></span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> which seems to contradict that.</span><br>

<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">There have been minor, and major changes throughout the weapons. The below list is NOT all the weapons, but the ones I saw in the HaloFest stream:</span></p>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><strong><span style="color:#00ffff;">BR (Battle Rifle):</span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> It is now painted black/dark-grey and almost dull-dune, and has a Reflex scope </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:rgb(0,153,255);"><em>(flat, un-cilender/un-box scope)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> instead of the scope from Halo 4. It's ammo "hud" bar is tinted orange, and the yellow stripe is still on the gun. It's discharge is notably very lower in pitch, and sounds like chains being coiled. The zoom does not black out peripheral vision as much as Halo 4's BR. In fact it doesn't even look like you're looking through a scope now. Futuristic lines, and geometry appear on the sides, and around the scope when zoomed in.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">AR (Assault Rifle): </span></strong></span><span style="font-size:18px;">The gun is now painted desert dune, and covered in composite materials. It also has a lower pitched discharge. The AR can now zoom instead of using HUD Binoculars, and shows a large circular reticule with surrounding geometry </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(it looks similar to a Covenant symbol of some sort)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Miniature Missile Pod?</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>: </strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">A rounded rifle-sized rocket launching type weapon. It works similar to the RL </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(Rocket Launcher)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">, except the rockets are noticeably smaller. The weapon can also zoom in in the same fashion as the AR. Utilizing the zoom a Player can target an enemy Player, and lob a missile at them: just like how the RL &amp; Missile Pod could lock on vehicles in previous games.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Sniper Rifle:</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> No discernible changes aside from more detailed structure.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Magnum:</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> Slightly different design. A slightly deep channel runs through the top of the "scalp" of the pistol in a notch. Utilizes iron sight smart scope. Painted a more dull dune color.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>SMG (Sub-Machine Gun):</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> More modern design. Painted a dune-yellow kind of color. It has a small rectangular scope just in front of the barrel, and uses iron sight smart scope. I don't remember what the old SMG sounded like, but this one sounds powerful.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Shotgun:</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> No noticeable changes aside from it looking slimmer. Seemingly uses smart scope.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>DMR (Designated Marksman Rifle)</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">: The scope is a little boxier. The scope glass is also not very green, and the weapon discharge is more powerful. Other than that I see no major changes.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Plasma Grenade: </strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">Works the same. Stick player, run away.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Frag Grenade:</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> Works the same. Throw, and go.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Prophet's Bane Energy Sword:</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> This weapon received the most drastic changes compared to the original Energy Sword, and is described as "legendary". I'm not sure if this is the actual legitimate sword featured in the Beta. It's neon Gold and seemingly has a front hand guard like the swords in Halo Wars. It's shape seems like a mix between the H2-3 &amp; H4 sword, but is very rounded, and curved. The circle in the middle is now elongated with the "prongs" of the sword curving around, down, and then slightly up. Reminds me of Covenant Hesduros architecture. This sword is on Truth </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(Midship remake)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">, heavily implying it is the sword used by The Arbiter to kill the Prophet of Truth.</span> <span style="font-size:18px;">The sword increases movement when held. You can also use the Smart Scope with the sword and increase the lunge range.</span><br>

<p><span style="font-size:18px;">So far 4 different maps have been shown out of the 7 max:</span></p>
<p></p>
<ul>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>Truth (Midship):</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> Medium-Small sized map </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(the map is seemingly larger than before)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. Very similar to Zealot from Reach </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(and obviously Midship from Halo 2)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. The biggest difference is the graphic overhaul.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>"Space Station?":</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> This was shown in the original Halo 5 Beta teaser at E3. It's a husk-like map with a large ceiling, and lack of walls on the left to right sides </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#0099ff;"><em>(hardlight... I don't know what it is, but some shields prevent the Player from escaping)</em></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">. There is allot of trick-jumps, and vertical structures on this map. The floor is grid-like blue, and seems to be a gravity generator to keep the Spartans from floating into space. Stripes of safety yellow turn, and weave throughout the structures. Spartans jump in using some form of Man Cannon as shown in the E3 Trailer.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong>"Indoors Pipe Facility?":</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;"> This map was shown in the H5B First Look Teaser a month or two after E3. It's a very complex indoors warehouse with damaged electronics, and ventilation shafts around the building.</span><br>
</li>
<li>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">"Outdoors Jungle Like Structure?":</span></strong></span> <span style="font-size:18px;">I didn't see much of this one, but it looks like forerunner/covenant structure covered in jungle overgrowth.</span><br>
</li>
</ul>
<p></p>
</div>
</div>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">Allot of new armor was shown at HaloFest, but unfortunately I won't be able to detail them right now due to me already spending more than an hour on this article.</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:18px;">The Halo 5: Guardians Multiplayer Beta begins on </span><span style="font-size:18px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;"><strong>December 29th, and runs for 3 weeks until January 18th, 2015</strong></span></span><span style="font-size:18px;">.</span></p>

<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">Hey guys, excitingly IGN revealed some armour permutations you can unlock in Halo 5 by simply playing the Master Chief Collection!</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">Halo 5: Guardians is on the horizon and details are beginning to be revealed to us in tiny bits, this being a prime example. </span><a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/10/31/halo-5-guardians-armor-unlocks-from-halo-the-master-chief-collection-revealed-ign-first" rel="external nofollow"><span style="color:#00ffff;">IGN.com</span></a><span style="color:#00ffff;"> showed off some Halo armour available in Guardians. The first, is two variations of Mark IV, one scarred and one not. The second, ODST armour now labelled 'Nightfall'. And finally a new helmet called HELIOSKRILL resembling Hayabusa. Each of these will be unlock-able through separate achievements in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. For example, the ODST or 'Nightfall' Armour is unlocked by watching all episodes of Halo: Nightfall.</span></p>

<p><span style="color:#ffffff;"><strong><span style="font-size:18px;">Halo 2: Anniversary Forge</span></strong></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">As part of IGN first, 343i shows us how Forge will work in Halo 2 on their new 'Forge World'.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">We will start off with a huge blank canvas, everything you see around you is part of the skybox so you can do everything you want to do. Place huge slabs of terrain to create an island to work on, go place some trees and rocks to make it look more natural. Once you go in to player mode everything will connect with eachother almost seamlessly.</span></span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">As an example we get to see an entire map as large a Coagulation forged by one of the dev's to show us what we all can do when we get out hands on.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">You'll be able to place interactive elements on the map. Like the EMP which is also featured in Coagulation, switches like we saw in Zenith and interactive doors activated by consoles like we saw in Stonetown. And yes the "Blue screen of death" appears on them when activated like in the original Zanzibar console. </span></span><img alt=":D" src="https://www.343industries.org/forum/uploads/emoticons/default_biggrin.png"></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">But it doesn't stop there!</span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">Using the consoles you can also spawn in set items in Player mode. From as small as a bridge to entire race tracks. Get creative! </span></span><img alt=";)" src="https://www.343industries.org/forum/uploads/emoticons/default_wink.png"></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="color:#ffffff;">What's also worth pointing out is that we get a glimpse of Beaver Creek that the dev's forged in.</span></span></p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Didn't your favourite map get remade? You can now Forge it yourself!</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">Get a look at it for yourself here:</span></p>

<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">343 Industries and IGN have shown off the introductory cut-scene to Halo 2 Anniversary as part of their IGN First program!</span></p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">Halo: The Master Chief Collection is in it's final days of processing and is nearly ready to reach our fingertips, but until then I have more footage to entice you. A channel on

<div class="ipsEmbeddedVideo"><div><iframe width="480" height="270" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="" data-embed-src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/P8FYmCMY09Q?feature=oembed"></iframe></div></div>
<span style="color:#00ffff;"> thankfully reuploaded the footage from a stream showing off the cinematic opening to Halo 2: Anniversary, redone with stunning visuals from Blur Studios. The opening is for the mission Outskirts and the full mission was shown off on the aforementioned stream, which I cannot get a hold of unfortunately. The video features the infamous Scarab in it's Halo 2 garb, New Mombasa, Sergeant Johnson, and the Spartan himself, The Master Chief, all in gloriously redone visual style. Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases on November 11th, 2014 for Xbox One only.</span><p> </p>

<p><span style="color:#00ffff;">Does this cinematic intro do the original justice despite being redone; or do subtle changes turn you off? Sound off below! I appreciate you reading folks!</span></p>
