Halo Combat Evolved was on pc as well as xbox. it may also be an alternative to having to get the xbox one if halo 5 is for xbox one and pc.

Halo 5: Guardians General Discussion

Lots of news lately with the cover art being revealed. So I noticed we don't actually have a general discussion about Halo 5: Guardians for some reason so I'm glad to start one and I'd love for anyone interested to get involved with speculation and thoughts. I'll be chiming in here every time news is released. So to start here's what Frank O'Connor tweeted earlier today:

https://twitter.com/franklez/status/593615744329383936

https://twitter.com/franklez/status/593631312059179008

The guesses that were on Twitter made before this Tweet include:

-Cortana

-The Arbiter

-Buck

-Fred

-Linda

-Kelly

-Halsey

And the following were guessed in a single Tweet just before Frankie said that somebody had guessed it.

-Iso-Didact

-Mendicant Bias

-Gravemind

-Mendez

-A Precursor

-Offensive Bias

Considering that there's no reason that only hardcore lore fans would be excited for the people in the top list, and that most of them are already practically confirmed, I'm betting that it's one of the people on the bottom list. We already heard Mendez in HtT, a Precursor isn't exactly a "who," and we've already guessed Mendicant. The Iso-Didact is probably dead, and the Gravemind has already appeared in the games. I'm betting on OB, though MB could be who he was referring to as well.

Also:

https://twitter.com/franklez/status/593657281935380480

Little something I picked up from MoaHerder on HaloArchive to help people out in making speculations and such.

Also if anyone wants to mention obesity, they can. But the post can't solely be about obesity.

This is so dumb to me! I have been a fan of this game and spent enough of my money on it to continue to deal with these things. It’s ridiculous! This will be the reason I stop playing halo and sell my xbox all in all. Thanks 343, for destroying the enjoyable halo experience that caused most of your consumers to even play this game!

Home Depot fFrge Map

This is going to be a small post but I'm here to say I have not forged a map in halo 5 yet and was never good at forge.

But Im going to start making a forge map that I plan to work with infection as the main game mode for it and then swat and breakout.

This will look like a home depot building so a loy of racks and shelves with some small vehicles. My plan is you can climb on top of some of the shelves and such.

Anyways. Anyone is welcome to join me in this I plan to start tonight after work just add my gamertag: HOUOUIN KYOUMA7

I know I'm late to the party. I just received a XBox one and I love the system setup so far. I grabbbed Halo 5 because I love this franchise. I got it so I could play with my son and friends because of the dual campaign and the battle royals we would setup with the older games. I wait for the download, which don't get me started on that, select the game and prepare to start playing with my son. I start searching and reading and come to find out it's only dual campaign through Xbox live with online friends. I can't do it with a friend or my son next to me. COME ON 343!!!! I'm disappointed, I understand online gaming is hugely popular. But what about the fathers, like me that are sharing these things with their sons. That only have one system in the home. That play and joke about screen cheating, or talk about strategies on how to make it to the next level. That spend the extra money for 4 controllers so all my kids can play at once. This is a rant but I don't know how to let Microsoft or 343 industries know how I feel.

Thank you all for letting me Rant.

The gameplay is the best in the series in my opinion. It has open and immersive levels with great combat variety. You could argue reach has better gameplay and halo 4 has the best story. Still, the heavy enemies, gun balance, weapon sounds, good acting/mocap, incredible visuals(despite some low rez textures). Everyone loves the Mp but I honestly think the campaign is the best. It was also our first glimpse of sangheilios in a game.

Halo 5: Guardians REQ Thread!

Hey everyone, EK here, I wanted to create a thread where we could catalog all confirmed REQs so that if there's ever an issue, it can be resolved here. The list is barely done, but for now, here's a list of what we know for sure is appearing in Halo 5: Guardians!

Recruit

Recruit armour used by basic Spartan IVs in Halo 4 has returned in Halo 5: Guardians Very little discernible difference for this armour.

HOW TO UNLOCK: Starter armour

Air Assault

This is another armour returning nearly exactly as it's precursor in Halo 5, with a mostly similar design with slight indents that make it stand out. However, if you were hoping for a return to it's Halo: Reach format, you'll be disappointed.

HOW TO UNLOCK: Earn in REQ Packs.

Recon

The classic armour is making a comeback from Halo 4 with a mostly similar helmet and slicker body details such as improved shoulder plates.

Clear cut remastering of the original armour utilized by Spartan IVs with little noticeable change, the shoulders bear a slight difference to their original form though.

This armour is partially different with a skull paintjob on the helmet and the same details on the gauntlets and chest piece.

This is an armour new to the Halo franchise, bearing some similarities to the previously seen Bullseye armour in the Halo 4 Champions Bundle.
The REQ packs in Halo 5 in my opinion are done wrong. In order to get that armor set you want you need to open a REQ pack and hope its in there. The thing that made the other Halo games so good is their combination of skill, patience, and hard work. In Halo 5 you don't need any of those to get what you want. In the older Halos you had to look at the armor you wanted and find out the requirements needed to unlock it and you only got the armor you wanted. The requirements needed to unlock the armor you wanted were challenging and required skill and patience. After you put in the blood, sweat, and tears you would get the armor you wanted. Now the way you get armor is based all off of luck. Someone could want a armor set like Noble and have played the game for over a two years and not have gotten it, while a new person can open up their first REQ pack and get the noble armor and not even want it. I personally think this is unfair to the player base. The players bought the game and were promised an action packed game with customization feature and a good campaign. They didn't get that. What they got was a game where either you get spawned killed or you run for a minute every time you mess up, and they get a campaign that is repetitive, and sure they can customize their character but they cant have their character look the way they want because they have to get lucky in order to get the armor they want.

The armor unlocks in Halo 5. The armor unlocks to me are an effort to please the people who think that the way you should get armor is to unlock it and in a way it did please me... until i learned how you have to unlock them. In order to unlock the unlock able armor in Halo 5 you have to buy the Master chief collection. From what i understand you get nothing for completing the campaign on legendary because the armor you would get for completing the campaign is now impossible to get unless the bought the master chief collection and beat every Halo game on legendary. This is wrong. Someone bought your game so they shouldn't have to give you more money to get the other part of the game they already bought. You know Bungie ,the old makers of Halo and the ones who made the armor earning system perfect and the gameplay amazing, also tried to take their players money in a similar way. Do you know what happen to them? Over half the people who played their game stopped playing and actually sold their game. I couldn't even sell the game. Not even to the game store that buys games for consoles or devise that aren't around anymore because they already had twenty three copies of the game. The fact that you made it to where all the older armor was only unlock able through the master chief collection really made me mad. New players to Halo don't have the master chief collection so you just gave them a big middle finger and people who cant afford the master chief collection cant get the armor too so now you guys are taking away their ability to take their mind off of life and the stresses of it because the immersion of the game just got hit by a ******* truck. When i played Halo Reach i never once fell out of immersion. I played Halo Reach's campaign multiple times and each time i always feel like i am part of the Noble team. I have yet to be immersed by Halo 5's campaign. I stopped playing after i decided that while the campaign was better than i thought it would be it is still pretty terrible and needs a better story. There is a big gap between Halo 4 and Halo 5's campaign. While it was okay to leave a gap between Halo Reach and Halo 4 because master chief was a freezer burrito and didn't know what happen it is not okay to do the same to halo 5 because a lot has happened since then. Through the whole line of Halo games there has never been a gap in campaigns that wasn't at least mentioned. As i said the Halo 5 campaign is repetitive and i stopped playing because all my team mates are only useful to get me up when an enemy grunt pulls out his shiny new dying ******* star of some far away place that i don't know because i bought the game for fun and i only catch up on the history of halo when it directly relates to the game. The campaign is easy the only hard part is trying to find the ammo to fire back at the enemy and trying to not die from a heat seeking nuclear bomb.

Honestly i think REQ packs could be useful if used correctly. I think that REQ packs should only be used for weapon skins, weapon variants, and vehicle variants. While we are on the subject of weapon variants i think that you shouldn't have to open a REQ pack for a DMR because in every Halo with the DMR in it you could've used the DMR just as easily as you could've used the assault rifle. I also think that you should go back to military ranks instead of spartan ranks because it feels more immersive and it feels like you accomplished something, not just ranked up. One thing that i think everyone should keep in mind is that Halo Reach succeeded because everything in the game ran with each other. Everything from the ranking system to the armor design to even the map design all ran with each other making it feel like you were actually at someplace during a time. Each set of armor was different but still had the same rouged feel, and every map was different but still felt like they were built during an industrial age. The colors reflected the mood which was serious and sad. As the campaign progressed the world was crumbling and the feeling of helplessness started to set. Each mission had an important task to do not a get from point a to b but a get from point a to b by going around massive maps and completing objective which now in Halo 5 would be considered a mission per objective, but in Halo Reach one mission had possibly over twenty objectives. The ending where you die showed just enough to show that you've died but it showed so little that it would make you want to redo the campaign because you felt like maybe the second time it will be different, maybe the second time Noble team will live. No two missions were the same thanks to those and that is what Halo 5 is lacking and to be perfectly honest Halo 4 too. Even though the Halo Reach campaign was one of the hardest campaigns to complete people still played it because it was fun and it hooked people. People ended up playing Halo Reach's campaign for the story not the challenge or the fun. That's what Halo 5 is lacking. Even in the matchmaking you are reminded of the campaign in many different ways. You guys also changed so much about the armor that is to honor Noble team by changing the names and the look. Commando is now Noble and you now look like an iron man rip off. and the same with the others too. You should've made the recruit armor from Halo Reach and named it Noble 6.

There is a lot to complain about in Halo 5 but i'm thankful that i can play a Halo 5 because with out 343 Halo probably would've stopped or for all we know would've been complete trash. One last thing. Maybe next Halo game they should make like stances or something that you only get if you live in a certain state. I also mainly was sort of yelling at 343 so i said you a lot but if someone would like to add or comment on something i said its a free country so go ahead and voice your opinion on the matter.

I do not know why this was implemented in the game. Firstly, why can't we just assassinate our bosses without our teammates killing the target AI? I can't stress to tell you on how many occasions I tried to assassinate a warden eternal then halfway my team destroys him and I don't get the damn take down. Same applies to assassinations during matches, I think there should be an option where we can either yoink/steal or a teammate stealing proof option. It's really damn annoying how many times ass holes do this to me. Why can't we just get the assassination we earned only just to be taken away from a teammate?

Overall the most bugging thing to me is that your teammates get the boss take down while you don't even though you rushed in and risked your life. There is just a guy from across the map shooting with an AR and gets the take down. Please address this 343!

What additions to Halo 6's campaign would be cool to you? It can be anything from plot points, characters, or the music, or the environment. How would you want it to be like?

The only real big idea I had was it is split between 3 teams: Blue Team, Osiris, and The Swords of Sanghelios. That team has Thel 'Vadam, Rtas 'Vadum, Makhee 'Chava, and Tul 'Juran.

So as many of you probably know, with Xbox play anywhere it's now going to be possible to play full versions of future Halo titles on PC. Now why is this so important you may ask? Simply because PCs can effectively stomp console gaming in every shape and form.

Now! If Micro$oft holds true to their word then supposedly EVERY Xbox one game will be available on PC as well, thus more profits for Micro$oft from PC gamers!

I firmly believe Micro$oft will effectively kill Xbox in the long run with this program because what was once an 'Exclusive' game will now be available to all PC gamers everywhere! SO! Why would anyone want a inferior experience on a console when they can get the best possible experience on a reliable PC for a fraction of the cost of a console and upgradeable options in the future.

Consoles are a dying breed and Micro$oft should turn their attention to their PC fan base, just look at Halo 5: Forge... sure it doesn't have campaign or a REAL matchmaking system but darn it! It's beautiful on the PC and it's common knowledge that games WILL run better on a gaming PC anyway.

Anyway enough about my rant but I'm just about to jump ships once the next Halo game releases on PC.

With the ending of the Halo World Championships now well in our past and Counter-Logic Gaming crowned the victors there have been numerous roster changes in the Halo 5: Guardians pro circuit among many teams. Here are some changes reported from my favorite Halo eSports source, halo.esportspedia.com:

March 22nd, following the loss to CLG in HWC, Cratos and Suspector left Team Allegiance. Commonly of Evil Geniuses left this same day and was replaced by Cratos who left ALG.

March 23rd, Naded also leaves Allegiance leaving El Town to be the only member left.

On April 5th, El Town also left Team Allegiance leaving them without a roster. Naded joined Optic Gaming this same day after a couple of its members left joining Halo 3 vets Ace (who didn't rejoin until April 9th) and Flamesword and competitive player since Halo 2: MaNiaC.

April 9th, alongside Ace leaving Team Liquid to rejoin Optic Gaming, Huke and bubu dubu are released from Denial. They didn't leave they were released! The two best players!

In wake of this, two days later on April 11th, Huke and bubu dubu join Cratos (previously from Allegiance) and Shooter (previously from a not-well-known team named Winterfox) to create a brand new team named Enigma6.

April 14th, two members left Renegades and those spots have been filled by Commonly (previously from EG) and Penguin (previously from eLevate).

This thread is for Halo 5: Guardians eSports news, roster changes, tournament and general discussions including favorite teams, players, etc. Personally I've been a fan of Snip3down, Roy, and Lunchbox since Halo 3 and that makes me a pretty big, but disappointed, EG fan.

The next event will be a mini-tournament at PAX East on April 24th featuring:

Evil Geniuses

Snip3down

Roy

Lunchbox

Suspector

Team EnVyUs

Mikwen

Rayne

iGotUrPistola

eL TowN

Enigma6

Huke

bubu dubu

Cratos

Shooter

Optic Gaming

FlamesworD

Ace

[9 80-Yes this thread is about the boss kills but not in the way you seem to understand it.

See for one thing i think games in general are just time wasters... to me video games are those things that just fill in gaps in between time that i have zero **** to do and want to exert the most minut amount of intlectual power possible.

not saying they are a complete wate of time just that they are good for wasting time to get you to that next stage in the day when you have to actually be productive and something you do will actually effect your life or society in general.

So to the point we all have played plenty of warzone to know that there re times when the boss kill seems like a very annoying random bad referee call.

For example the last game I'm playing on Skirmish of Darkstar or whatever its called, I go and get me my REQ saw The Answer, a very bad ass SAW and I'm doing great because at this point endurance of will has spawned and has been around for some time...

so I rush to his location I run a few rounds into him pop around cover as a teammate gets blasted and dies. I Reload then continue my attack... I repeat this one more time... now I'm n my last clip I'm blasting this thing it goes boom but palmer says the enemy eliminated endurance of will ... and my whole team is DEFUQ... yes like 5 teammates and me all were baffled because we were giving constant firepower into him one with a fuel rod cannon me with The Answer and several BR shots but go figure one dufus runs up with a regular magnum ( I know this because I killed him and saw he had a AR and a magnum ). and yes the magnum was the paper to our Rock,

Now I know some are like well that's just skill or its your fault you didn't kill him first but lets think more logically and use this perspective... you want to promote more REQS as a company to sell them to make that side profit right... well when you have people use REQs over and over and over again and not gain anything well people buy less REQS.

Think of it this way when I heard palmer say the enemy killed him and we essentially lost the lead it wasn't that we lost the kill because the enemy overwhelmed us and they destroyed him no it was because eon guy got the lucky ini mini miny mo choice and they got the full 150 while we got spent REQS and pointless efforts

and that's just the point is that a player in halo 5 puts in x amount of effort and should be compensated for such effort in some form. not saying we should get points but there has to be a better way to determine the win on that perhaps if on team only lands one shot they don't get full points... I don't know really

the thing is when I heard they eliminated them all I heard was hey you know that REQ you used it was for nothing you know that time you put in it was for nothing, the time it took to even get to that level of REQ was for nothing meaning f you used a level 6 REQ and now you are at zero its tkes time to get back to at least 5 RQ points to use nothing in the game based on skill effects the reload time of req points so essentially if you use a req and you die instantly your SOL.

Now you have enough reqs to get the saw I had you pull it out waste more points and are one less REQ richer, you destroy the boss nicely but the kill goes to the other team even though you saw you bullets spray him he gooes boom and you get no candy.

for people like me I just goo its just a game to some point but at one point you have to realize you put in some form of time and effort into this and there comes a point where the kill ofa boss is not down to skill rather just luck its not like you can time the shot a split second faster than the pistol shot the jhuman eye cannot process that quickly.

so what happens is people will start to just hord HIgh level REQ stuff because things like flying vehicles are easy to spawn camp 343 put no effort in making multiple spawn points for them they spwn In the same place at the same time hell I spawned camped 3 banshees and a phaeton that's not really a strategy when a 5 year old can decipher it. Hey my team is winning and all the air vehicls spawn there let me sit back with my Spartan laser and just go to town and while I wait I can go and spawn a second Spartan laser variant and have zero cool down time yay. also hide in my base be safe from inomng fire and still camp vehicles that have zero chance to evade

I mean iv seen less and less vehiles be spawned by a team at one point because people don't see the point I mean yea it could turn the tide but really will it if the team gets a random shot and wins the game by luck because yes warzone is part skill and mostly luck. sometimes your in the right spot for things to happen and sometimes you have a skilled team but iv seen skilled teams lose the boss kill to some random pistol guy.

so that's my rant I'm just a bit annoyed and feel like having two life bars for each team is a simple way of putting it so if one team does less effort to attack the boss they get rewarded less. you get what you worked for ye I understand this takes away the whole boss steal stuff but let me point this out.

people say its sucks when the second team has better and higher REQS but defend it by saying its because they are putting in the effort bt why is it when it comes to bosses the whole idea of separate life bars to rewards team effort is bad is kinda confuses me and seems biased see the team with higher reqs is not complaining because they mad that effort.

Also I can see people saying well if the team with higher reqs is dominated the other team will lose moral and quit... yea id rather lose moral over being dominated than lose moral over the most random of things impacting a win or loss.

and for gods sakes please give us another voice besides sarah palmer and I kinda wish she wasn't so cheerleadery like let hr say your falling behind get your ass into gear **** like that that way its not like ok guys we may be losers but we can still get to the enemy core seriously no military would do that if you fall back your leadership digs into your ass. or will peoples feelings get hurt to easily.

Yes I basically just joined this forum and I'm already shamelessly advertising my YouTube channel but I genuinely want to know people's thoughts, I think I made a decent case in the video below.

Can someone explain to me how at a rank of 39 I'm continually paired in games with people ranked at 125-140?

Why am I even being paired into a game with someone ranked as an onyx when I'm ranked as a silver 2.

Also, I find it quite frustrating to be paired into a game with two people...un-ranked on their apparent first halo 5 game they ever played. The two people were shown as 2's after the game, and it indicated in their service record that this was their first and only game thus far, yet they destroyed myself and another way more experienced player 25:0 in a 2v2 game.

Just curious!

Thanks
