  1. Halo 4 was a big disappointment. The day after I beat the campaign on legendary I received Portal 2 in the mail from Gamefly and I've had more fun playing that than war games. After watching a few videos of nuketown gameplay from BO2, as well as nuketown zombies, I can safely assume I'll have more fun playing CoD than Halo this year. I understand that its the same **** every year with CoD but Halo isn't appealing to me at all. Custom games were what I looked forward to the most and since 343 ****** up by not adding bigger forge maps I won't be forging any good maps this year liked I used to for Halo: Reach. I would literally spend days creating racetracks and mini games, as well as recreations and I even posted a few up on forgehub. 343 did a great job on war games but.. its just not fun. Neither is CoD multiplayer, but at least BO2 has zombies. Stale multiplayer + small forge maps = no replay value while stale multiplayer + zombies = replay value
  2. For a long time now I've been really excited for Halo 4, counting down the days, and making sure I dedicate most of my time to Halo when it releases. Custom games and forge were what I looked forward to the most. I'm very disappointed. 343 did a great job with their forge system, but couldn't add in a single forge-world size map. Because of this, crazy fun interesting maps with cool racetracks, indiana jones-style maps, and left 4 dead survival maps can't be made with their full potential. No forge world size maps = no nights spent playing custom games for hours. Even if they add in forge-world size maps as DLC, 343 ****** up by not adding them in at launch with the game. The only reason for not adding in a big map can only be frame rate lag, but I'm sure if they made the map as simple as possible a little lag wouldn't bother most of the forgers. They dealt with it in Reach, right? I'm sure we could deal with a bit of frame rate lag now if thats the case. The campaign was amazing. Multiplayer is fun, and more easier to play than past Halo's (I went 52 and 5 today, but thats probably because of the noobies). Forge world is disappointing. I love Halo, but I don't think it'll keep me hooked as Halo:Reach did. I guess I'll be playing zombies in BO2 for this winter.

  4. If frame rate lag is an issue, I'm sure many forge fanatics would put up with it. If it meant 343 had to lower their standards on the map, possibly making it as simple as possible, then we'd be fine with it. The idea of a petition sounds great - I'm definitely going to keep this thread alive. What kind of forge map should be added as DLC? I think a snow covered field next to a frozen river would be magnificent. If not, perhaps a map next to the shore (kind of like in forge world, outside of the cave). When they do add a map with any water on it (be it a river, lake, even just a small pond) I hope 343 makes sure to allow us to actually make underwater themed maps. As of now, I'm sure 343 has added a kill barrier anytime we approach water in forge.
  5. Exactly. I didn't get Halo 4 because of the multiplayer or the campaign - I got it for the custom games. Mini games, indiana jones, underwater maps..all not possible in Halo 4. Or at least not to the full potential as they were in Halo:Reach. How can we convince 343 that the new forge maps suck? We keep posting threads about it. I'll be making one later today, just to keep the flow going.
  6. Great point. 343 doesn't want us to have a map the size of forge world, or any canvas-type of map. Would it have been difficult for them to create a map with a large, grassy plain next to a river? Maybe a mountain covered in snow? Certainly not. They know maps like that would be heaven for forgers, but why didn't they make them? Thats a question I'd prefer to have answered by any 343 staff. Maybe because it'd encourage players to forge on these medium sized maps..don't know. They messed up by not adding a forge world sized map on release - because if they do release it as DLC, 2 things could happen: 1. Forge community will rage 2. Many people won't want to/can't buy the DLC and would be left out If they do release a forge-world sized map as DLC, they'd make some good income. Maybe that was their intention.
