Why would you think it was a joke for the recon give away. 343 did that so that those that didn't have the helmet ( which was a whole lot of people), could have it. And also, this isn't a 343 site, this is a fan made site. And Halo 3 will survive, with Reach and the other Halo games coming out. First of all, the fact that Recon would be available for everyone was announced a week ago, so not an April fools joke. Second, how on earth did 343i ruin the franchise? They released Anniversary and map packs within a year, that's a LOT. More content than Bungie ever released in such a short period of time. I think you're overreacting, it's a virtual helmet, I really don't see how this ruined the franchise. But I really think they did this so halo 3 population may grow a little bit. Another reason may be the fact that reach has alot of our young players and they need to get used to halo 3 in preparation of halo 4. These are the only reasons that make sense to me. Shadow Hunter Honor Posted April 3, 2012 Report Share Posted April 3, 2012 I got Recon with out bungie favorites, vidmasters, or the April 1st thing. i got it by facing bungie head on with a team of skilled players, taking the bungie team by the neck, and squeezing as hard as i could until they fell dead. its kind of a bad taste in my mouth to just give it away, but i assume 343i will have there own separating armor from all others, unless earned that is ;P. And, to be fare, Halo 3 will be gone soon, sadly, anyway, so it won't matter. I think 343 was actually nice to do it. I had been trying for a long time to get that achievement. a live dinosaur Posted April 8, 2012 Report Share Posted April 8, 2012 I achieved Recon with my vidmaster challenges. The work is what counts. Not the helmet. Just the 4 hours of Endure. I think its great people have it now. Besides, They're Recon is for a short period of time, so stop trolling. Lets face it though, such a great game will come to an end.
