Over before it starts!

It was initially unclear to me that the use of the "Reach" engine meant that the games 343 Ind. were releasing would make use of the AA (Armor Abilities). I figured that it was a reference to the grafics/software that gave the game a modern look. They are going to loose so many people, true fans of the game series, because of this. I was actually fairly excited that 343 Ind. had taken over the franchise and like so many hoped that they would listen to the population, those that voiced their opinion and those who bought Reach then quit playing, and get the franchise back on track. I was introduced to this game by my nephews when CE first hit the market and feel in love with it. This realization about the inclusion of AA's in the new multi players is such a let down.

I will not be buying either game which was the original reason I have bought 2 Xbox's and 3 360's, to play Halo and for my nephews to play. All I can say is farewell to Halo, it was good while it lasted, many, many hours of enjoyment! Thank you to everyone who made the Halo series so good and fun over all the years ,not Reach, you guys deserve a lot of credit.

Time for an edit update on this post.

I came in here directly after realizing this information was to be the facts. Was pretty unhappy about it, obviously, at the time. Since then I quickly accepted the fact and moved on. I will buy HCEA an support 343 Ind. on their endeavors. They are taking a big step and I appreciate them having the franchise. I really like the gift of this game.

Someones in a crap of a mood. If you read or saw, 343 is doing special things for the games multiplayer. While it can be the BR I can assure you they will have a classic playlist for the multiplayer so no aa. Also whine and code are different, code is all they multiplayer functions they have and engine is the graphics they are using so there will be no aa in campaign whatsoever!

No, actually, not in a crap mood! Please provide the link to a 343 Ind. post that states there will be a classic playlist, without the AA's, for all included maps in both games. Believe your "BR" reference was intended to say the BR is going to be back? I am unfamiliar with "whine", but the engine aspect was the reference I heard that led me to believe, as you pointed out, that it was the graphics part of the Reach platform that would be used.

Thank you for your response.

true fans of halo wouln't stop playing just because of armor abilities, true halo fans will support halo no matter what while still criticizing the games and offering feed back to 343i. just because people on forums complain about AA doesn't mean they're the majority, im fairly sure the majority of halo fan's don't hang out in forums.

I cant remember the name of the video because it was a video q&a by a fan at e3, he commented that they will be changing things, and also it is just common sense. The maps for the classic playlist are some of the maps they have in the CEA.

Common sense says that if there is just a classic playlist for a non AA variant that just would most likely mean social slayer only. What I am talking about, feel let down about, is that the primary game consisting of ranked slayer, doubles ranked, snipers, MLG, etc., will be the same as in Reach. If any one can show me an article or interview that clearly states all game types will be available without AA I simply do not buy into the "classic" playlist idea. Those of you who refer to this classic play list as a solution for all the dislike many have for AA is just not a valid argument. I do appreciate you post though.

Thanks Marv, took the words right out of my mouth.

OP, if you have no intention of buying the games in future, then you can always play Halo 3.

They are not going to build a Multiplayer system for Halo CEA, this is being released as a anniversary (clue in title), almost gift to the fans if you like.

Halo 4 however is a different kettle of fish, which WILL have its own multiplayer system, will there be armor abilities? who knows. In fact who knows what will be in Halo 4? or what Halo 4 storyline is even about? no one, so lets take things as they come and come back to this discussion as and when details are given out,

I still think some features should have been added to the halo CEA campaign that the original didn't have I.e. Hijacking and improved AI, oh I still think the new MC should look better than what we are seeing in these screenshots; same multiplayer as reach so get over it lol

They did add a classic playlist on halo reach but it was removed due to lack of interest

My point as well. Who will buy the game in the hope of just one classic playlist that could be removed. You made my point for me, thank you. Of course I am referring to those who do not care for the AA.

Spectral I appreciated your measured response. There has been a sense of let down that the multiplayer part of the game would be an actual part of Reach playlist. Why not drop the multiplayer into the Halo 3 were , at least, the original weapons and physics were closer to the original? I relished having CE Campaign come back, it was the best in my opinion. I was, am, grateful for this thought of giving the fans a chance to relive the original game.......I was very excited about it. Personally Spectral I never truly enjoyed Reach any where near the way I had the previous games. I do not want to end up with what will be a seven map addition to Reach. The graphics were amazing, but the armor abilities really sucked the life out of the game for me. (I am saying this to give you a background on my perspective.) I found a game type in Arena Doubles that had the fewest AA, and the fact that it was ranked play which I enjoy, and played it a lot. It was eventually removed even though it was the most popular Arena game type being played, more than Team and FFA combined. Almost every single friend had left H3 and came to Reach, which brought me. I stayed and played because of our friendship. I rarely play Reach any more, the game is simply not enjoyable to me. A single "Classic" playlist is not the answer for me.

The inclusion that I would not buy "either" game was not made clear by me, my bad. I have read Q&A that has implied that 343 Ind. would use an existing engine for H4. I wanted it to be known, long before decisions are set in stone, that if Halo 4 was to be another extension of Reach that I was not interested in buying it. Is it not now, before hand, that we need to let them know our feelings?

You know what if it pisses you off so much go back to playing black ops with the ten year olds and leave the halo games to us. AA's are complained about because you think you have a kill and you loose it. They aren't Noobs or loosers for using an AA but smarter at playing the game then you are. get over it

Valentine you have no clue what you are talking about, not one thing you said is true, period. I don't play Black OPs and I have never called people who use AA's noobs or loosers. I actually have a good k/d ratio in Reach and deal with them when I play. You have grouped everyone who does not care for the AA's in a Halo game based on one simple thought. You have just posted your ignorance. Simple as that!

Ok guys, this isn't a fight, Absolute Dog said he will get the game and try it out, this is based on personal opinion okay, but we don't have to get to the point where we get like this,

well said i for one sort of don't mind armour abilities. In fact if they took armour lock or shortened it to like 2 seconds of usage then multiplayer would be a better place

Let's make one thing very clear here.

1) My problem with AA's has nothing to do with being able to "deal" with them. I simply think they are "too much" and that is my opinion and I'm entitled to it, like it or not.

2) I have edited the OP, so go read the edit at the bottom.

3) I am not aatacking those who like them or are ardent supporters of Reach, I still play it with long time friends who really like it.

Dog reading back through the posts I missed a point briefly mentioned by yourself and you know what it was like a eureka moment. H3 MM doesn't get more classic than that. Would it be possible to release the maps for H3 and Reach? Would please 100% of the fanbase.

I wouldn't know the answer to that one, probably a lot of work involved. It would rekindle the population of Halo 3 three though. Plus, depending on the future playing style of Halo 4, get you back into that "old feeling" and prepare you for the next installment of Halo MM.

For those of you who read a little heated exchange between Valentine and my self in this thread, we have since become friends in this forum.
