Microsoft is nuts

Microsoft could make bank on a 4-6 hour long Halo movie that spanned Halo 1-3(4 maybe, would be better to do 1-3 then 4-6), with Blur Studios doing the animation with Bungie and 343 directing it. Half of it's already done with the MCC cutscenes.

But no, I guess Microsoft's gonna twiddle their thumbs until they continuously keep going downhill because they keep making junk devices (surface pro's, lol) and breaking drivers in every new W10 update...

Seriously, there's millions of views on the Halo 2 cutscenes, just make a movie already.

Someone didnt do a lick of research on this subject obviously. Since reading through search results seems to be such a big problem for everyone, here are some quick links to fill you in...

To sum up exactly why it has been canceled/postponed is as follows....

- Contract negotiations

- Director direction and execution

- Casting Issues

- Effect on franchise Lore/Canon

- Film Studio (Paramount,Fox) movie issues

The list is literally endless. The only aspect in all this that you can actually blame Microsoft for, is in terms of how much budget and leeway they are willing to give to the director and the studio chosen to distribute it. Obviously they can't just pour endless pools of money into the project without turning a profit. They still have shareholders and a board of Directors to please.

Also they cannot waste resources on a film that won't stay true to the already carefully laid out past of the Halo Universe and ruin the gaming aspect. Think J.J.'s Star Trek.

Also let's be honest....after the recent transition and failures of the new developer, Halo has lost a LOT of it's appeal and franchise supremecy. Simply javing a live action Halo 1-3 isn't going to be enough. Community members whom grew up with the original trilogy will have a lot of expectations. On a similar note, newbie gamers will not understand nor apreciate adhering to the old trilogy. From my standpoint having a halo movie is going to end up as a lose/lose situation.

While I totally would love a Halo movie, I can't say I really want to see one. I think they should have done more with fall of reach, and not shrink it down like they did.

Live action would be sweet but Halo isn't easy to put into live action, one point being for the longest time the main character never said anything. In addition, it's hard to replicate the situations in live action just because of how Halo is.

A Halo movie based on the Fall of Reach (Both the setting in Halo: Reach and novel) would be amazing!

Either this or I would love a movie to be based after Halo 6. Since Halo 6 is meant to be the end of Chiefs story it would be amazing if they made it so you finish his story in 6 then a movie is released to tie into it which spans over 20 years. This movie will follow Johns life from training in the Spartan-II program to the destruction of Installation 04, hunting Truth down on Installation 05, saving earth and then ending the Flood outbreak and shattering the Covernant at The Ark and so on. Basically a long movie showing Chiefs life, from start to finish with maybe little nods to Halo: Reach, Halo Wars and Halo 3: ODST and then showing the final ending in greater detail (I'm hoping the end of Halo 6 is based either on Harvest so you finish it all where it began or on Reach; so you truly Finish the Fight at the place where it all began for John).

Just something to send everything out with a bang. People have been asking for a true Halo movie since 2004 and Peter Jackson got close and then ended up making District 9. We then later had small movies with Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn and Halo: Nightfall but with need something big. Its only fair Microsoft do this as it was Bungie with Halo that made the Xbox what it is today.

After reading this back to myself, I'm hoping for maybe just abit to much. A MAN CAN DREAM GODDAMMIT!
