Two years... Two years since the Master Chief or John-117 went missing. Two years since the covenant was temporarily split apart with the death of their last known 'hierarch'.

Two years since the Galactic Council was formed, (An all species council represented by one of the highest-ranking officials of their own Species.) and two years after the Sangheili were betrayed and sided with the Humans.

Two years after the UNSC had been reinforced with several recruits that were too young to join the Armed Forces, Navy, and Air Force.

That was two years ago... this is now....

Operation: Gladiator

Nov. 11, 2554

0500 Hours

"Rolecall! Names and ranks!" Bellowed, Commander Wilks of the UNSC Marine Corps, Leader of Alpha Company, 212th Warmonger Battalion.

Charlie Platoon, was the current of the four platoons, they were in the most wide open spaces of the entirety of the UNSC Experimental Frigate. The Hangar, already lined up and at attention. All they had to do was say who they were.

OOC: Is this the start of the LFF, 819? :o If it is:

IC:

A clean-shaven, tanned marine promptly steps forward and snaps off a crisp salute.

"Sir! Private Cloud Bluesky, sir."

He steps back into line and awaits more introductions.

If it isn't the LFF, my apologies. I'm just so anxious to get rolling. :D

((OOC: Airman in a Marine Platoon? Hmm... I could make that work.))

All the others responded after the others, and the Commander finally finished with his Rolecall. He glanced at the Airman; Trevelyan and finally glanced at the rest of those who had stated their names. "Alright Marines, and pilots... I've been under strict orders not to brief you, until now." He stated and paused for a brief moment. He then continued. "We're heading into one of those... Forerunner structures. God knows why but rumor has it that we found a long lost friend. Who it is... is beyond me but we received a distress signal originating from inside the structure. It's spherical in shape and the 'door' is wide open." He stated and nodded slightly. "We're all heading in, but once we're inside I need all fire teams deployed." He shouted and grunted as he pointed at a Pelican dropship. "Airman Trevelyan, Private Bluesky! Corporal Alexander! and the rest of Fireteam Zulu!" He shouted and stopped pointing. "Mount up in Hammer-437! And keep your weapons locked and loaded! We don't know whats in there and Distress signals are for distress." He finished his ordering and folded his hands behind his back.

<OOC> Thanks, Mr. V. Work and roommates and friends, oh my. "Life", in other words. A terrible thing when alls I wants to do is get down with my [email protected].</OOC>

"Oorah!" bellows Bluesky before turning and heading for the Pelican.

Whenever Bluesky sees one of these babies he remembers in perfect clarity why he was discharged from the Air Force. It makes him smirk every time.

Falling in behind Cpl. Alexander, Bluesky takes a seat across from him. "Exciting, huh, Corporal?" he asks with a grin as he gets comfortable.

Listening to the conversation, Bluesky checks and rechecks his weapons, chuckling at the notion of naming them.

"Terra?" he asks with another small chuckle as he pulls the magazine from his M6F to polish the pistol. "Anybody else named their gun?" The question was obviously rhetorical as he never even glanced around at the others.

IC:

"Haha" Trevelyan laughed, "No need to worry. I know how to fire a weapon, corporal. Although 'Terra might come in handy."

"you bet she'll come in handy Airman, Terra has saved my behind more time then i can remember" Alexander said while gently caressing his shotgun

gently caressing his shotgun

OOC:  ^_^

IC:

Bluesky abruptly pauses his polishing to glance up at the Corporal. Then at Trevelyan. Then back at the Corporal… And then he goes back to polishing his Magnum and contemplating the Commander's briefing.

Forerunner structure with its door wide open? thinks Cloud. And we're just gonna walk right in, uninvited and unannounced? Polishing around his pistol's trigger, he clears his throat.

"Anybody know how big this thing is that we're supposed to check out?" he asks without taking his eyes off his work.

"Wilks makes a lot of things sound big... as in; More important than they actually are." Said the pilot through the open cockpit door and nodded slightly. "We're in. And being dropped, in five seconds." The pilot said and paused for a moment. His named was Red.

"Brace yourselves." He ordered.

Bluesky had listened to what Red had said about the Commander and was now even more confused. "Huh…?" was all he could muster just before being informed of their drop..

Within seconds, Cloud had reloaded his pistol, checked the safety and holstered it. He grabbed his assault rifle with one hand and grabbed one of the Pelican's Holy s**t handles with the other. He was ready to move as soon as the doors opened.

"On you, Corporal."

OOC: Not sure where Trevelyan sits in rank, being under, equal to, or over Balder on the ladder. Being a Marine, though, I'd assume Bluesky to automatically defer to the Corporal. I wish Twin would join us here. Maybe he's not aware that this is the LFF?

OOC: this should clear it up. Corporal is the fourth enlisted rank in the UNSC Marine Corps and the UNSC Army, and is the lowest rank of the Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO). It is equal in rank to Petty Officer Third Class in the UNSC Navy and Senior Airman in the Air Force. I am ranked below senior airman, so i am one rank below corporal.
