No split screen rant

I honestly came here, made an account, just to show my utter sadness and express my disappointment for the absolute asinine decision to not have split screen. I look forward, as I'm sure millions of other hardcore Halo fans do, to getting the new Halo, and playing through the campaign with siblingls/family and friends, and then carrying that to playing together online. My brother, cousins and countless friends going back to when I was in 4th grade, I am now 24, have spent thousands of hours playing together. THAT is the nostalgic feel from the Halo games that keeps me buying them. 343 you guys have seriously done such a good job up until I heard about this. Not to mention, and when I say this I really hope you guys AND Microsoft are listening, Halo 5 was and is the biggest and only exclusive for xbox one I am looking forward to. As I'm sure millions of others agree. But I honestly would have no reason to get the game, not until it goes down in price in 3 years. 60$ for a game is a steal when you know that you'll be spending endless hours with friends and family playing it. But now, its replay value is as good as COD or any other game that makes you play with people online and not in person. And that is what makes this so sad, Halo stood above all other games because it brought people together in a way no other games do. So as of now, I will be selling my Xbox One, and cancelling my preorder. Sounds extreme, and obviously not every single person would agree, but those are the things I and everyone I play with and know, value about Halo. I know you guys at 343 have been working your asses off on a next gen amazing looking 60 fps game, but I honestly could care less if I have to play it alone in my room or with friends via a damn internet connection. I truly care about Halo, and this is why I decided to take my time and voice my opinion.

I agree.  While I'm 29 years old and most of my gamer friends are all busy with their families and can't come over and hang out for hours like back in the olden days, split screen is a nice feature to be able to have if and when you need it.  What made Halo so awesome to begin with is this ability, that you could hang out with your buddies and play for hours and have awesome parties and epic matches.  Now you can talk to them through a headset, whoopty doo.  I wanted Halo 5 to be an awesome game and was all for spending the dough to go out and buy a new xbox one, as I still have an xbox 360, but 343 industries hasn't exactly had a great track record in my opinion and now I have absolutely zero faith in them.  First off, Halo 4 was a flop, they even admitted it themselves that they could've done way better and that it failed.  Second, the Master Chief Collection, another flop.  Some games you'd have to wait 20 minutes to get a match or get kicked out while in the middle of a game.  Third, Halo Nightfall, so cheesy and the graphics so horrible that I wanted to stop watching but just had to keep going to see how horrible it truly was.  I was going to buy an xbox one, if Halo 5 got decent reviews but now with these shennanigans as well as no backwards compatability?  Yeah I think I'll pass as Halo is about the only game that I play, but who know's maybe Destiny will be a runner up.  In my opinion 343 industries has made a mockery of a once epic franchise.  Thank you 343 for ruining that for us all.

Sincerely,

Very disappointed and long term Halo fan

I know a lot of people are unhappy about not having split screen, but now is a little late ranting for it considering the development is finished.

Also I said this before but I'll go ahead and say it again, Isn't better framerates in the game make it much more enjoyable also making the game MUCH more playable? For example, would you rather a laggy game of slayer (Or whatever gametype you choose) on a single xbox with lag? / or with a buddy while playing in matchmaking? (Which also lowers your framerate much more.) Or.. would you rather play matchmaking with no lag and better gameplay experience from it by playing solo?

It's personal preference I know, but this is a way that Halo can progress further, taking matchmaking to a whole another level, it's just my opionion on the matter, don't hate. lol.
