NEW HALO GAME!

So I was thinking it would be cool to make a Halo game using a lot of the original ideas, such as having animals live in the world like the beast thing they were thinking of adding in Halo CE and using some of the old weapon ideas based on the models shown. It would be a totally different take on the Halo universe and I would like to know what you guys thing of this idea. It is a very rough idea and I would like some responses on what you think would make it better.

Thanks

It is a rough idea, and it sort of reminds me of the GTA V single player that was filled with wildlife.

I think it would be a cool idea to have a living environment in Halo that isn't just scenery.

Would it include the massive beasts that were in reach, or the Moa?

What exactly do you mean by old weapon ideas?

So your looking to make a Halo game similar to what Halo was supposed to be before Microsoft bought Bungie yes?

If this is what your looking to do, I advise you first take the rough idea and create first a solid layout for mechanics. Once you kbow exactly how you want things to functions, you then need to research what opensource game engines can accomodate what you need. It's not as simpke as just opening up Unity, Cryengine or UDK...and just chugging along.

Not tryin to discourage you at all, I'm just trying to give you a realistic view of what to expect with a project like this. Even for simple multiplayer only SDK created ganes, a team of 10 or more is usually involved. You will need to know C#/C++, Lua, Python or any other extention language needed to write additional handling or custom architecture for your chosen pkatform and engine.

We could have that, but would require a very dedicated team similar to what Installation 00 has formed. Not in terms of numbers, but talent. Creating an open world design and incorporating real time reflections is the hardest part. To date, I can't name one RTS or FPS that includes actual real time reflections. They all seem to use the default cube map environment approach.

Yeah, if you intend to make a game, then you'll need to fully flesh out your idea first, and then also have the skills to back it up...if you're looking for a team to work with, nobody is going to want to work with an "idea man". They want to work with people that have skill and passion and drive...not to mention know-how to support it.
