Elite Armor/Shield Difference

depressant

Recommended Posts

Every time I play Halo 4 I think, "there's no difference in the Elites armor, or is there?

If anyone could say, is there any difference between the armor shielding between the Elites? Because every time I shoot an Elite with a shotgun, they die instantly, or in hard their shield is taken off. Unlike in others like Reach, where there's a CLEAR difference between the shielding of Ultras, Zealots, Field Marshals, Generals, Minors, Officers, and Commandos.

So if anyone could tell me: Is there a difference between the Elites shielding in Halo 4? If so, how much?

Thanks to all of you wonderful people here!

I don't think there's any Elites in Halo 4, They might have it in H5/HMCC, I've seen the pictures, though. I would love to see Elites in Halo 4, if we could play as them or something. xD

No Berries, he's talking about Elites in the Campaign! Get it together woman!! :good:

Anyway Arbiter, I never really noticed the shield difference between the Elites. My approach was "Shoot first, ask questions... never". I don't know why.

Maybe shooting them with a Shotgun pretty much negates any shielding an Elite has up close. Try shooting at them with a different weapon and see if there's a difference: which I believe there is one due to the Higher Ranks usually receiving the better gear.

Yes, there are differences in shielding levels. It's not a particularly big amount, for the most part, but it's definitely there. Elite Majors can take about one more shot than Minors, Generals can take about half as many again, and Zeaots need about twice as many shots. What makes it feel different is that while there are a lot of Minors and Majors in the Campaign, there aren't really all that many higher-ranked Elites even on the upper difficulties: if you want to see for yourself, try playing through 'Dawn' with the Thunderstorm skull on (to increase enemy ranks) and you should notice fairly quickly that there are differences in shielding strength.
