Anime Virtual Reality?

Hey.

So, I've been thinking about Anime VRs (Virtual Realities) and I want to see how you'd all think this would work out and when we could possibly see this.

Do you think we'd be able to experience this in our life time? I personally think that it's possible, but I wouldn't like to be really old or anything when it happens, that would be kind of weird.

What form will it come in? By this, I mean will it be a machine or something available to be bought by the public, or would it be something you find in public areas that you can access. It'd be pretty weird having it in a public area. How would it be equipped and used exactly?

If it is for sale, how expensive do you think it'd be? Between what price range?

Will this be available to all animes (and I mean all)? This includes americanised ones.

How will we be able to fit in and interact with these animes? Will we be able to interact verbally and even physically? The A.I must be real smart for these anime characters.

Some Positives: You can finally have your dream waifu (that goes out to you Azaxx).

You can get an experience of a different universe.

You can finally have your dream waifu.

You will be able to try out different things that may not happen in your real life.

Oh, and did I mention that you can finally have your dream waifu?

Some Negatives: You will be socialising with an A.I most of the time.

You are sucked away from reality.

You may have less exercise and begin to eat and drink less.

Your immune system may weaken.

Some people can get too sucked in and possibly eventually die.

This may have negative effects on your brain.

Many people may give up on finding real love and stick to their waifus until death.

It may seem like the negatives outweigh the positives, but I'm sure everyone will be just fine if they take regular breaks and maintain a healthy life.

Lets discuss. Spread your questions and answers all over this thread. What are you waiting for? Go.

Literally do not care about any of these negatives.

A.I's are cool, I hate reality, I never exercise, immune system is already bad, death is inevitable, if having fun is negative on the brain I'm all for it.

I'd absolutely get it to have fun, no hesitation at all.

This is already exist(Not the way your post describes it)

It does on the Oculus Rift at least

Some very odd devs have already created this and normally it is NSFW stuff or they're anime girls dancing. I don't like either.

Although a VRMMORPG like GGO or SAO will be sweet.

Your immune system will weaken regardless if you stay inside all day. This VR stuff will do little to accelerate that.

That isn't possible because your brain does a very good job of forcing you to take care of yourself

Nope, not really. It may have negative effects on your doapmine receptors if you use it for NSFW reasons, but other then that it will be like any other form of entertainment.

Not even just anime or video games when it comes to VR. Imagine the other possibilities with it and how it could become so much more.  Think about how colleges could make VR classrooms where instead of you getting up and going to class, you literally just put on some NerveGear and you're in your class. (Imagine how awesome it would be to be the professor teaching that class haha, they literally wake up and put on their VR gear and then they're in class.)  If something like SAO style VR became to exist, it would change the world in more ways then possible.  With calculations and sensors on the body, they could see how certain things react to the body without actually hurting you or physically testing something on you.

Also with everything, people are bound to find negatives, so why even worry about them right now?

The way you want it won't happen soon. The closest thing we have is strapping a screen to our face and that seems to have fizzled out in popularity.

And when it first comes out it will probably be so expensive that making an 'anime' VR won't even be on their minds unless it is made in Japan.

Without going outside and getting a good taste of nature, our immune system wouldn't have encountered all the bacteria needed for the white blood cells to create memory cells to fight off the invading pathogens. Our immune system wouldn't really be that active, and that's not very could now, is it? True, it'll weaken eventually as you get much, much older, but this can affect it negatively because of a lack of outside activity...or any physical activity at all.

Source: A* Science student. ;) (Seriously though, As and sometimes A*s)

Then explain all those people who died of a lack of nutrients because they were too sucked into video games. Our brain doesn't control us, it just keeps us alive. It can't do that very well without all 7 essential nutrients. This device will probably be far more powerful and addictive than just a computer screen. You'll be sucked into the Virtual Reality and probably wouldn't want to return that easily.

Wouldn't it of been easier to just put time limits on how long you play so that it wouldn't give you the bad affects so easily?

That's what I'm thinking. There could be a little time on the side that tells you when you should take a break. To avoid getting too addicted, there could be an option to shut down the whole thing after a certain period of time. I'm sure the instructions manual will come with a suitable time to spend on this. ;)

We must stand vigilant against such an evil from ever occurring.

Just think about the level of fan service that is in anime now...now think about the level of fan service in anime virtual reality.

That was my immediate thought when I saw, just didn't post it earlier.
