Maximum armor customizations

Recommended Posts

The introduction of Armor Skins in Halo 4 was great. It didn't do a very good job of replacing armor permutations from Reach, but it did make for some incredible looking Armor Sets.

I'd like for Halo 5's armor to play off of both of these and have maybe 10-15 skins that can be selected (similar to selecting armor color) and have specific armor permutations for each armor set (similar to Reach).

Multiple skins, that I can see doable, but creating your own patterns from scratch, now that will be much more complicated for 343 to incorporate, as it will require a higher programming... And sounds similar to making a Minecraft skin, so an increased variety of skins per armor set would be ideal. Also endorsable, I would be on board to see that.

I don't see a point to any of this. The armor does nothing but look pretty. No stat boosts, no extra ammo.... so on and so on.

If the armor actually did something of significance within the game then I would be all for it, otherwise to me it is just time and space wasted on worthless programing.

How does a limited pre-set of specific armor customizations add any true depth? There is a limit to the possible combinations, and every match I play, regardless of armor perm, they end looking similar. For true depth and immersion, you would need an editor for curves and buldges simar to the face and body editor you find in MMO games. But even then, after 500,000 or so combinations, you would reach your creative limit.

The only real way to keep your Spartan unique, would be to lock the perms and colors to YOUR career, justike a Gamertag. Only allow a certain combination tk be used by one player. That would be a great way to keep your Spartan unique and warrant an enormous permutation feature.

How about the ability to customize more than just a spartan. In reach we got to choose a type of Elite but I want to go further than that. We choose a certain type of elite but then we can fully customize that type of elite just like we can with a spartan. What about the ability to play as a Brute, or the Didact and customize both of those? I think that would add to the customization a whole lot.

If they had more colors to choose from I would happy.

It'd be neat if you could choose a pattern to put on your

armor as well, as someone above said. To add even more

to it I think it would be unique if you could customize the

body shape! Like if you're short and stocky, tall and

slender, etc.

Like what Twin was getting at though, you can only have

so much before combinations run out. There are a lot of

Halo players and some of their armor combinations are

bound to look awfully similar...

I liked all of Halo4's armor i think alot of it should move on to halo 5 from recon up to protector and the preorders though helmet selection along with forearm selection is pretty weak even with bonus content i agree with caboose and i have never ran into someone that looks similar to my armor  ever but i do see it happen alot with low ranks due to a lack of commendation progress and level unlocks but for the most part i think they did good i was hoping for the elite or Promethean option though but it didn't come maybe well get to be Forerunners? That would be nice i also missed firefight voices from reach.

I actually like customisation for its total lack of functionality, I customize my spartan because it makes it personal, for me my armor is not a character ingame, it is how I present myself ingame, how I want to look.

More customisation is always good in my eyes, ALWAYS (except for guns and such, do not touch my guns)

More armor customization's always good. Reach did it great, 4 stepped it down a little but wasn't bad in the variety department. It was bad, IMO, in the appearance department. Hated the look of most of Halo 4's armor.

That is what I initially thought as well, but now a ton of them have grown on me. I still think the MP helmet in Reach is the absolute worst helmet of all time. While more armor would be cool, I only care about the helmet. Just make tons of helmets.
