Halo 2 anniversary doesn't keep to halo 2's artstyle.

Halo 4 forerunner style,

Impropper use of lighting (light from the blackness of space. Realy?)

Not only is the lighting wrong, the colours are wrong and oversaturated and the forrunner stuff is of course 343 halo 4 stuff rather than the correct bungie stuff. : the geometry is different (forrunner stuff but also the rocks) which will clearly affect stuff like grenade bouncing and what we see as cover.

You can play the game in the original graphics though.  Personally I rather enjoy the look of the textures and shading that they have done to the campaign footage that I have watched.  I'm curious to see how they retextured the scarab gun....

Apparently the original maps will NOT be remastered--just scaled to 1080p with no new textures/skins. It will be the pure Halo 2 experience online--good or bad idk. Only the select few (5 or 6) maps will be re-imagined like stated above. So far Zanzibar, Lockout and Ascension are confirmed.

As for the art style in Halo 2 Anniversary campaign..from what I saw the Cairo station looked great. Yeah, it's not a texture to texture remaster, but a new skin with more modern Halo art sensibilities...Halo CE anniversary did that as well and I think it turned out great. If you aren't a fan of it, at least you get to play the original in 1080p and 60fps which is already a great bonus and worth replaying them just for that IMHO.

If only people would stop nitpicking at every single detail. For the love of god be glad 343i does this for you!

Don't like it? Don't buy it!

Also light from the blackness of space? It's called sunlight... It doesn't even have to come directly from the sun, it can bounce off any planet (Earth) or rock nearby.

And come on? You really think that the slight changes in a rock are going to affect you? And if so, what is it actually does affect you in a way you don't get your one kill? What does it matter?!

I watched the Reimagined gameplay from E3 on Youtube, and in the comments people were bickering over the sound and design of the sniper rifle. The sound... of the sniper rifle...

It just happens though, and it gets tiresome to look at. If something is not to someone's personal preference exactly, they will whine and complain about it. Being thankful for getting ANYTHING does not exist anymore, everyone has to be a baby.

343 aren't making a halo game for us they're making a halo game for our money

And it's not a halo remake if it don't look like the halo game it's a remake of.

Do you understand it is a reimagined map? It is SUPPOSED to look different and better. If you don't like it simply don't buy it, because everyone else is fine with it.

I agree, but EVERY video game studio is out to make money! Do you believe 343i is the only one looking to profit? You make it sound like they're a fortune 500 company hell bent on taking every cent you own, when in reality... that's daddy M$ to a degree. (More so EA)

This seems even more like a deal to me. Four Halo Games, two remastered and graphically enhanced, a multiplayer with over 100 maps (which most were DLC that was originally 10 or 15 bucks, can't remember the price tag) and each games multiplayer running on it's own engine, access to a full length series directed by Ridley Scott, and access to the Halo 5 Multiplayer beta...

For 60 dollars. That sounds so Heinous! What a vile price for all that content!

Why is everyone so hell bent on selling this thing constantly stating 1080p and 60fps. News for you people.....we already uad it. It was called Halo CE and Halo 2 Vista. Yes its new to.console, but quit picking that part out like its fantastic or something.

As for the art style.....this is why I hate remakes. Yes people like updated rendering to match current gen look, but also there are just as many people who do not like these things messed with. OP, this is why they give you the OPTION to ise it or not. As for your geometry concerns, they are null. The updated graphics change the look yes, but like with CEA, the collision is untouched. So no, the look of the geometry in actuality will not effect anything. Its just visuals, nothing more.

Carefull with comments like that. It was the community whining and bitching that lead to the H2A and updated graphics for this collection to begin with. Had every, as you put it, BABY, had just not ever once spoke up and complained about needing an Anniversary for Halo 2 and Halo 3, you would not likely have this coming to Xbox One.

I doubt anyone actually complained about having a Halo 2 remake. It was just what the majority asked for, and probably expected when seeing the first remake (Probably the downfall of this whole thing). Yes, complaints and constructive criticism are great. We need it. We saw it help Halo 4. What we don't need is complaints about petty topics that is more personal preference of artwork, lighting, style, etc. I'd be much more worried with "does the game play the way we asked it to?" There is a difference between valid complaints that are problems or issues, and just plain moaning about how a game doesn't fit to the style you wanted.

Fair enough, and that was why I pointed out to the OP, that he can use either style.  I'm going to warn you though, many map makers on my H2MT team have already pointed out flaws in the gameplay video on Ascension that to our eyes, caught slight differentials with the grenade speed projectile, the strength of the throw, as well as the weapon firing, particularly the sniper.  We have been working with halo 2 PC for nearly 7 years now and we can spot a change easily.  For your sakes, I hope this was just a demo issue and not what you guys can expect with the actual retail game.  Again, it could just be a side effect of the engine relying on emulation to be executed on the XB1.

The sniper does sound terrible, it really stood out. If they're gonna change it in the reimagined maps, then atleast make it sound good.

Get over yourself if you think people expressing their opinions is whinning.

People are so bad at handeling change. It's a reimagined version guys, if you want to play your old Halo 2 get your original Halo 2 copy and play that.

This is what bugs me about the Halo community lately. Everybody keeps complaining. Now if it was complaining that lead to a reasonable solution I'd be fine with it but lately it has just constantly been "I don't like this" or "I don't like that" or "I don't like how that grain of sand looks" just complaints and no solutions.

Then there is this thing called preference. Not everybody likes what you like and you don't like what everybody else like. 343i has to find a middle road and in todays society where everybody wants their preference to be implemented or "The game is dead to me now" it is very hard to do so.

And then when 343i decides to day switch things up a bit another uproar is started because the other half of the community doesn't like it!

In the end nothing that 343i does is right to you people! Just appreciate the fact they they devote their time to entertain you instead of complaining about every single thing.

We're just giving our opinions on the stuff we don't like, it's not complaining. To say we can't give criticism to our beloved Halo franchise, which is what we're doing, and to just eat everything little thing 343 does, is a joke.

I don't really mind the art design changes because we're getting all of the unaltered H2 maps and multiplayer in 1080p also. Just little things annoy me like the sniper bloom, white vasoline armour regeneration sheilds, sniper sounds. Just a slap in the face to the H2 players and the whole point of honoring Halo 2 with the anniversary.

If the bansee handles like the H4 version and not like in H2, the warthog and ghost are underpowered compared to H2, then I'll skip the "H2 reimagined through halo 5 glasses, 6 map monstrosities." This isn't suppost to be Halo 5 with H2 maps and guns.

Giving critisism requires a solution or constructive feedback, not just pointing out something you don't like.

I agree with the lighting, they need to turn that down a bit but I always thought about how ugly the spartans were in halo 4 because of how small and scrawny they are. I cant believe there still going with that. Anyway Halo CE anniversary campaign the remaster textures were god awful and nothing like the original but in the Halo 2 anniversary it is just like the original and its looks GOOD

The lighting looks a lot better than in Halo 4, but itwould look even better if the glowy contrast and color saturation were turned down. The scrawny short, thin chest spartans are another eye sore. They also look very plasticy

I complained about having a Halo 2 remake, if that's the only thing they were remaking.

So if a Halo 2:A was made and that's it, I would've been very disappointed in 343i.
