It doesn't receive patches anymore, I don't believe, mostly because its multiplayer has pretty much been perfected. But do note that you can still receive matchmaking bans for betraying and being booted. Also have fun! Halo Reach was my first halo game, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it just as much as I did. However the community has fallen off of Halo 3 with Halo Reach and Halo 4 being released. So... Halo Reach you will have fun with, but I would recommend getting Halo 4 as I think Halo Reach could take a dip this year when the next Halo title is released. It still has lots of active players and you can find a match in no time during peak hours of the day. But at like 2:00-10:00 AM, some playlists become a little low, and finding matches can be a little on the slow-side... But never-the-less its worth it! This game is as fun as it gets! I highly recommend getting it! And yes the game got Updates, and hasn't gotten one really recently, but trust me, it doesn't need it. And it will eventually get more, (According to 343 Industries).
