It was a quiet October morning in New Alexandria, the wind flew by with a brisk feeling, as the sun shone bright in the air, it was peaceful and quiet, before the loud and noisy usual workday, in an apartment complex, silver in tone, the large building stood reflecting the sun.

Taylor's blurry eyes opened halfway to the bright light above him, it seared his eyes, making him put his hand in front of him to block it, he picked himself up from the bed, sitting up on it's left side, moving his hand, and looking around, making a slight cough. He opened his eyes fully, and looked down, noticing his cargo pants still on, ruffled, and no shirt, he slid on a white beater and walked barefoot unto the porch, smiling a bit at the view of all the buildings, he said in a light voice, "Damn, what a view..."

He walked back into the house, hearing his doorbell, this was unusual, only a few people knew where he lived. He began walking toward the door, he held the knob and yelled, "Who is it?"

Ike woke up in his bedroom, Wearing his recruit ODST armor, Not knowing what was going on. His posture was as if he were panicked and he shouted "You split jaw mother fu-!!!". He clutched his chest where his dog tags were, Just behind the ODST chest plate. He had just started out as an ODST a few days ago, Learning somethings about the Sanghelli and the Brutes, A common enemy. Ike had been confident in the fact that this was his home planet, Nothing will happen...

But we all know that humans find themselves invincible, And they never think of what can happen.. Ike sat there dumbfounded, Feeling terrible about the dream, And stupid for even thinking of it. "Don't let this damn crap get to my head, That's the last thing I need to do is to become a freak in an asylum...", Ike stood up, Pretty tall and thin and went outside his home. No family was here, He was just on a day break from the military in a home he brought from the spare change from the extra customers he had before he left for the ODST's. It wasn't very much, One room, One kitchen, and One bathroom. Very low quality... As Ike continued walking around, He looked over at the sun and wondered why he had made this choice and where it would lead him. "Great, I'm either going to love this or hate this..." He said in a fearful way. He went back inside and tried to go back to sleep, Only to find himself not falling into anything. This was the start of a new chapter of his life.

"Bang bang! Gotcha!" Frederik said as he pointed his index and middle finger at his friend, Duke.

"Arrrgghhh!" Duke yelled. "You just made me mad!" He started stomping towards Frederik, making thumping noises as he walked.

Frederik pointed at Duke again. "Bang bang bang! Pew pew pew!" His imaginary bullets didn't work on his friend.

"Mega fireball!" Duke opened his hand. "Whoosh!" Frederik jumped to the side and started to shoot again. "I got you, Fred!"

"No you didn't, I jumped out of the way!"

"My fireballs can't miss! They follow you!" Duke retorted.

"I turned my shield on but you didn't know I did."

Duke frowned and crossed his arms. He turned away. "I don't wanna play anymore, Fred! It's not fair! You always cheat!"

Before the argument escalated any further, Frederik's mother opened the back door. "Boys, it's time for lunch!" she exclaimed. The two kids walked towards the house, and went inside.

The two boys sat down at the table, where two grilled cheese sandwiches awaited them on plates. Frederik's father, Walter, put his newspaper down and looked at him. "You two having fun out there?" he asked in a deep voice.

"Yep!" Frederik replied.

"Mm-hmm," Duke hummed as he scarfed down his sandwich.

Walter cleared his throat. "I've been thinking about going on another hunting trip, Frederik. Hunting season just started recently," he stared at the shotgun hanging on the wall.

"Really?!" Frederik's eyes beamed.

"Yes sir," he responded. He scratched his finger. "My trigger finger's getting itchy." Walter looked back at his son. "I know you like Moa burgers... and we're out of Moa. Since those damn rebels made your school shut down, I figure we'll go for a four-day trip next Monday." His attention shifted to Duke. "Duke!"

The kid jumped and peered up from his sandwich. Walter laughed; it was a wheezy laugh that only a decade of smoking could create.

"Do you want to go hunting with us?" His mouth full, Duke nodded. "Good! When you get home, I want you to get your parents to phone me. We'll sort everything out so that the three of us can go get some fresh Moa." The man quickly checked the room, then leaned forward. "More importantly, Frederik, I'll make sure your mama doesn't get mad at me for bringing lots of Moa home."

"I heard that!" Frederik's mother yelled from elsewhere in the house.

"Oh! Well, I'm in trouble now. Run along and play, boys," he told them. The two children got out of their seats and went outside.

OOC: Let's get this RP rolling! Let's go, let's go, let's go!

Ike went for a walk out of the area, Looking like a robot in his rookie armor, Standing in pride. He went to a store to hang out and talk to people, Meet some innocents he knows he wants to have as friends. Ike had heard about Rebels, The idiots to seem to ruin everything for their own causes. But no matter, Ike had walked into the shop making people astonished with tons of "Oh my!" and "By jove!!" from the citizens flooding into his ears- Er, the helmet. Ike happily responded, "Everyone, There is no need to fear. I'm just a rookie ODST, I applied not too long ago, I won't hurt you. Trust me, I hate those rebels myself, I've heard of the things they've done." Ike knelt down as if praying for a second and hopped back up. A man had come out and said, "An ODST eh? I see... Hmmm.... Orbital Drop Shock Troopers.... But why here? The militia always handles the rebels." Ike took a shocked stance, "Well ummm.... I'm just here visiting in my small home. Just taking a break from the learning  I guess, Its pretty boring... I try to spice it up, But I get just about shot in the throat everytime. Talk about being nothing but a hard, cold, heartless machine...." Surely after he said that, A small squad of about four or five walked into the shop, Not in any hurry or anything they just said hi to everyone. And Ike wondered who they were. He spoke up, "Hey umm... I'm new here... Who are you guys?" The only response he got was a nod and an.... ODST?? Well it was a worn out I.D, Nothing major. But the man was about middle aged, Normal height, and had brown hair. He also had a bit of a temper problem, Screaming at one of the three other men with him. "Well I guess I'll see you around then sirs.." Ike was about to walk out when one of them spoke up and said, "I'll see you again either here or in hell soldier." Ike not knowing the mans wits walked out, Not scared or anything but feeling like those people ran the place. They were famous.... But from what? Ike wanted to find out, But he surely wouldn't have enough time to. Ike went home and found a note on his door, saying "We need you at the academy. - Corporal Edward Buck" Ike regarded the note and got onto his mongoose and headed out into the night. Leaving his home in nothing but dust and echoes.

Taylor began to get suspicious, there was no answer, he walked into the kitchen area, small in size, as he quickly clutched the magnum on his table, he slammed the door open and quickly aimed, he aimed at nothing. There was nothing there, the hallway was silver in tone, brightly lit, and empty, not a man stood near, who knocked? He examined the outside, taking in every detail. He intook a breath, it smelt like death, suddenly, his mind was whizzed back to a long 10 years ago, a brutal training exercise, that he fought to forget.

Banning Base Camp for the Specially Selected- BBCSS, ten years, ten months and 12 days exactly before the current date-

The muddy ground splashed with the footsteps of men in tight shirts and leather boots climbing under the barbed wire, the wails of a drill sergeant could be heard, Taylor was well ahead of the group of men, he moved fast, he imagined running away from his father. He quickly escaped the wire and ran as quick as he could to the Flag, gripping it tightly, a whistle rang, he had won the exercise. The men took in heavy breaths and followed up to him, just standing at attention and rapidly intaking the shorts breaths of unnatural air. The gruff sergeant, looking in his 60s with the usual straight face, barked at the men, "You f****** disgraces, all of you, 2 minutes and 45 seconds? You think Militia are gonna go easy on you spineless little jackals? I shouldn't even call you a jackal, cause the damn animal moves faster than you! I expect MEN, not Pu-"

He was cut short, he didn't even want to speak anymore, he spat in a man's face, the man still panting, as he walked away. It took a few minutes for the men to groggily reach the locker room, two men, whom Taylor knew well, sat together, just talking, they'd usually point out their topics though, Taylor sat near them, "What a damn run... What's the topic of discussion?"

The men sighed and pointed at a nearby recruit, she had nice blonde hair, she looked like a model rather than a soldier, this of course made men point, as Taylor slapped the shorter one of the back of the head, "You got no chance, bud. Ain't built enough body yet."

The man laughed and shook his head, as Taylor got up and went to his locker, only a few feet from the girl's, he blurted out to her, unpacking stuff in his locker, "Good run. You move fast."

The woman sighed and looked over, she looked a bit displeased, and made a sarcastic smile, replying, "Thanks Sergeant Taylor."

Taylor stopped for a second and chuckled, he looked back over to her, the talking of the two men getting louder, he said to her calmly, "They bothering you a bit?"

She nodded, still unpacking, as one got up, the shorter one, he walked away, the taller of the two still there, he looked like he spoke, he was Russian at his core, despite his Americanization. He pulled near the woman, smiling at her, Taylor still unpacked, but glanced at this, he fiddled with a knife in his locker, waiting to see what would happen between the two, she sighed and began moving away, the man moved close behind, reaching out the grab her arm, Taylor acted on instinct, he flipped the knife around and swung his fist into the man's face, cutting due to the edge of the knife as well. The man dropped to the floor, bleeding profusely, Taylor hit him hard, both were in shock at Taylor's actions, he dropped the knife pulling away, as the shorter entered, horrified.

Present Day-

He shook his head, he didn't want to remember the rest, he re-examined the smell and exclaimed, "Just moa meat."

He pulled the door closed and went back inside, still confused as to the events that had just unfolded.

Leanne's pencil ground on the sheet of paper, leaving tracks and fragments of variously colored graphite, shaping whatever her mind pictured. There has been nothing going on recently, her duty as an ODST wasn't so action packed since there have been no missions to go on at all, she's also heard this from other operatives as well. She looked at her armor hanging in the closet, same condition as always, nothing new. Leanne turned back around, kicking her legs onto the table as she continued to sketch in her notebook. Minutes of silence passed, filled with the small sound of pencil against paper... then stopped. Leanne eyed her paper, and clutched it tightly, slightly creasing the side of the parchment. It was a picture of her old house; the yard, the design, everything the same, as if she'd never left.

A tear welled up in the corner of her eye, as she pictured her family. Did they miss her? Do they know where she is? The questions churned and turned inside her head, like a perpetual gyroscope... but the pain of memories became too much, and she ripped the page out, crumpled it and tossed it across the room, missing the waste bin. Leanne sat up straight, wiping her tears with the heels of her hands. 'Did I make the right choice?' She thought. But the answer never came.

Ike had been on his mongoose for awhile, Almost feeling lost. Ike knew he'd been this way in his life atleast once, But he couldn't put his finger on it, Let alone know why he was going this way. He looked around and the air smelt familiar, "Damn  it.... FU**!!!" He looked at a grave, A good buddy of his who died in the war with the rebels. "You lived all this time, You promised me you'd come back.... But you didn't! And now I'm fighting for you!  Your sorry a**!! Because you just had to die!" Ike broke down, He cried over the grave, He wasn't sure if he was even mad or if he were sad. He was confused and lost in the emotions. He had known Curtis most of his life, And when Curtis went off to fight the rebels, He was the best.  And he always kept his promises, All except one. Ike felt terrible for yelling at the grave. He wanted to just quit the ODST's and flee back home where he would be a person. A human again, Not someone who would probably kill thousands because of their own humanly actions. But something stopped him, He wanted vengeance. But how? ....Ike would have to kill the man who killed Curtis....

Taylor had slipped on a coat, he was planning on visiting a friend, he pulled in to open the door and as he stepped, he felt a crack, he looked down, a photo in a cheap brown casing, the glass was broken, and the picture bent a bit. Taylor leaned down and picked it up, examining it, it was a card, to the looks of it, an old dainty card, like from the 00s, many years ago. It was brownish in colour as well, but looked more as thought it had been damaged rather than old wear and tear. He looked at a peeling burnt edge, it was still disintegrating, it seemed...  Seemed like, Plasma? No, it couldn't be, he shook it off. He looked at the two men in the photo, both very stocky, one stood out for some reason, blonde hair, he wore some UNSC stuff too. The man next to him, seemed... Threatening to Taylor, for some reason. He ignored it, and flipped the card over, in squiggly script writing, it read,

Go. Quickly, they don't know about us yet, you need to go now.

He looked down, to see smaller writing, it was also more jagged and misshaped, but he read aloud,

I bought you time at least. -Jacob

Taylor's hand fidgeted and he dropped the note, almost like a nervous reaction from his brain. He snapped out of it, and stuffed the note in his pocket, as he walked out of the building, hailing a cab. He sat in the dainty backseat as he fiddled with his phone, dialing in a number, he got no response, so he left a message, "Hey Leanne, it's me... Taylor DeCello. I've been having trouble with some ghosts from my past... Call me back soon Sergeant, goodbye."

He flicked the phone off, staring out, confused with all of this.

Leanne woke up, startled by the sound of her phone going off in the middle of the night. She decided not to pay it much attention yet, but simply to see who it was out of curiosity.

"Taylor?" She read aloud, puzzled that he called her at this time of night. 'Was there something wrong?' She thought. He never really called her when they met back when she was a mere recruit, but Leanne remember that he was always kind to her, and seemed to watch over her like an overprotective older brother. But for now, she put her phone down and went back to sleep.

                                                                                                                     ....

The next morning, Leanne was in a bit of a rush as she got dressed and did her usual morning hygienics. But then she looked at her phone again, and flipped it on. 'The message from Sergeant Taylor.' She remembered from last night. Leanne hesitated for a few moments, then played the voice message:

*Hey Leanne, it's me... Taylor DeCello. I've been having trouble with some ghosts from my past... Call me back soon Sergeant, goodbye.*

'Ghosts from the past?' Leanne wondered, cryptically. 'Must be important then.'

She redialed Taylor's number, and waited for his answer....

Ike walked away from the gravesite, Curtis's dog tags in hand. "I'm only out in this field for you, And my damned stories.." He hopped on his mongoose and sped away to the academy, Surprised to see an everyday drill at night. Corporal Buck walked up to Ike, "About time you popped up, We've been waiting all damn day and we have stuff to do. Sure those soldiers over there have experiance, But you don't have much. So I'll be helping you so then you can go fight out there with out a baby sitter. Hear me?" The Corporal finished. Ike had nothing much to say, But he followed the order and asked. "When do we start training sir?" Buck responded "Well first off just call me Buck, I'm not a sir. With all the damn rebels I had to kill, You'd see me more as a juvenile delinquent. But enough chit-chat, Lets start training so you can the best of the best." Ike was hopeful, 'Buck' actually wanted to help him out to become better. Ike asked, "Why the best of the best? Aren't there higher ranks?" Buck turned around, "Us ODST's are the desperate measures if the spartans aren't around to play. We havent been called upon much since John and Linda are here somewhere. A few others I don't know, But I know those two are here. Don't worry though, We all get our time to shine." Ike looked over and noticed an ODST who wasnt talking, Just standing there. No, He was sleeping. "I see how that can work... Buck." Buck gave Ike an approving look, And they continued walking into the academy.

The phone became cold in her hands as she waited for the answer, hearing the phone's faint beep.

   "Hello" Taylor answered at last.

"Taylor..." Leanne trailed on the phone.

"Yes, who is this?" He sounded urgent, rather louder than his usual tone.

"It's Leanne." She said. "You called me last night."

"Oh, right." Taylor replied, his voice retreating a couple of levels, followed by a couple moments of awkward silence.

"What is it you wanted to talk to me about?" Leanne asked, breaking the quiet.

You Kiiiiiinda character controlled here, gonna need to fix that.

I edited it, is that a better way to go?

Yeah, that's fine.-

Taylor smiled a bit at the voice, his mind flooded with more memories. He didn't want them, no, no. He needed to get to the point, "L-Leanne?"

His eyes seemed to bulge from the silence in his living room, silence scared him more than anything. He stuttered again, "I saw it again..."

Ike and Buck had become friends after a while of training, Talking about the best uses of cover, Previous battles, And even some of the nice looking women on the field. Ike had looked up to Buck, Since Buck was his teacher. Ike sat next to Buck in the warthog. "So Buck, Any rebels today?" Buck turned to him and said,  "Hell yeah, The spartans are in nap time. So looks like its our time to shine!" Ike and Buck fistbumped and they sped off in the car, Ready to go kick some rebels in the face. Ike looked over, "Hey, If we are ODST's, Shouldn't we be dropping from space?" Buck returned an answer. "That? Yeah, we SHOULD but since you know... Dont really see an orbital elevator in this area. Oh well, Looks like we're pulling a blitz play on this, Not much different. We are still killing people anyway."  Ike was amazed... "A blitz play?"  Buck laughed, "Yeah, A blitz play. You may be thinking of Grif ball play strategies, But no.. Its actually where we just go in and kill em. Not a big deal."  Ike shut his mouth and prepared for his first REAL fight.

HOUR BEING ON THE ROAD-

"Hey guys, look at the view of the city, it is magnificent!" Says Sara

"Yep that's New Alexandria for you, it has that effect on new comers." William hollard through the whistling air

"Wait you've been to Alexandria before!?" Yells Joseph

"Yep. Twice both on visiting trips. I wont tell you what I was visiting for of coarse, you know how I am." He replied

"Ok, but I don't see why you have to be so secretive all the time though its not like we are gonna tell anyone, well I wont at least not sure about the others." Joseph said

"F*ck off." Said Jason jokingly

NEW ALEXANDRIA ENTRANCE

"License please." Said the guard

"Here you go."Said Joseph

The guard takes the card to examine it, checking every detail down to its size

"Alright every thing seems to be in check, have a nice night."

"Thanks, you too."

"Whoo hoo hoo hoooo. We are in baby lets partay!" Exclaimed Jason as he put his fedora on

"How about not, The clubs you probably want to go to are twenty one and over we are twenty." Says Joseph

"I'm not." Replied William

"Aww, your ditching us Willy?" Said Jason

"I told you too never call me that! And no, I am not ditching my friends for women. What friend would I be if I did that?" Asked William

"We are not going to any club or party until Selen and Jack meet us at the park." Joseph said annoyed

"You guys are no fun what so ever." Retorted Jason

"Well thats how it is gonna be until we meet up with the other two." Joseph says, and with that no one talks for the rest of the way

OOC: ...

"Today's the day," Walter said to Frederik and Duke as the last of their hunting equipment was hefted onto the back of the truck. "Let's go get us some Moa."

"Woo-hoo!" Frederik yelled.

"Quiet," his father told him. "The sun hasn't even risen yet. Your sister's still asleep." The three piled into the truck, and drove off.

After a long day of driving out to the woods, the end of the dirt road was in sight. The sun was setting, and light was fading fast. "We'll set up camp here, and make our way out into the forest tomorrow." He lit up a cigarette, and proceeded to pitch a large tent. "Boys, go gather some firewood. Take the flashlight with you." He grabbed the light and tossed it towards Frederik, who failed to catch it and got hit in the stomach. Duke and Walter laughed, while Frederik held his stomach.
