Downloaded Content (DLC) Is a RipOff

Dear 343,

As a life long Halo Fan, I must say I am very disappointed when it comes to my purchased downloaded content. When your customers purchase a product, are they wrong to expect to use that content in a manner that is expected? Please explain why there is no permanent DLC playlist in Halo4? You can't disenfranchise your customers because the DLC maps are not "popular." Adding the maps to the regular playlist is not enough. Furthermore, those customers who already hate DLC are enraged all the more when playlists start becoming unavailable to them over time. It is a poor tactic to increase sakes and we all see right through you.

Instead, why not remove the restriction on NON-DLC customers and create a single, permanent DLC playlist that has *ALL* DLC maps? This way the holdouts can be gently whoed into DLC and your participating customers can get what they paid for.

I could not agree with you more, they did the same in Reach

Yes they did do a playlist for each DLC when released, but then it disappeared.

Combining the DLC maps into the normal playlists is a fob off.

As you have said, How hard is it to create a DLC ONLY Playlist????? Especially with HALO 4 GOTY Edition coming out in a couple of weeks

We are not 343i we are just a community forum. While I agree there should just be a permanent DLC playlist. 343i likes data and feedback and are taking the long way to the solution. Trust me in the end its better for all of us.

Thanks All for the feedback.  I tried Posting this on halowaypoint.com, but it got absolutely no traction. My hope is to raise awareness in other communities so that it will get 343i's attention. At the minimum, I hope they address it in Halo 5.

To be honest, I'm thinking of boycotting Halo 5's DLC if they don't make a change.

I paid 60 bucks for this game just for the 4 on 4 Team Slayer which is what I play in all Halo games. Now that has been taken away from me because I am not willing to spend another 30 bucks for the maps. And why should I now that the online community for that game type is less than 500 players.I paid my 60 bucks and my gold membership so why cant I play. Why cant matchmaking automatically send me to lobbies with people that have the same content? Selling map packs kills the online community faster than anything.DLC should be for extra campaign missions, weapons skins, etc.I know this isnt all 343s doing.I blame Microsoft too.

What they should have is a warning sticker on the box that says"Multiplayer may require 3 additional purchases of $9.99".
