E3 Halo Teaser Analysis

Ok so what we had right there was the E3 Teaser for Halo. There was no indication that it was Halo 5 nor any spin off or side story of Halo. I want to break down what I see in the video and point them out. I think that this was the faintest tease towards Halo 5. I'm also going to point out some cool points.

Alright so you start the video and you see a desert land with dark skies and wind blowing which almost immediately made me think of Destiny by Bungie. This was done purposely obviously by 343 and was probably sanctioned by Bungie. You see a cloaked figure moving through the sandstorm in rags which is a clear reference to Destiny so I was very excited to see some interesting stuff on Destiny.

Ok first cool point I noticed. At 00:23 you see the distant view of the figure walking and the ground behind him is falling out into a dune because it's sand. Now I may be looking far too into this or I may be getting exactly what 343's trying to do but to me this represents sands of time. The time is winding down for this figure to do something (possibly save someone?).

00:52 seconds in you hear a noise like something bionic or something like VOOM only not as loud as you're reading it in your head as caps. The ground also starts shaking about a second before and the figure is confused and begins to look around. As if there's anywhere else to look? All the rocks start floating. They're clearly visible in the sand because they're dark and no sand is floating, just the dark rocks. Are they really rocks? Yea probably because they sound like rocks when they hit the ground after.

01:04 the ground starts to cave in and up from the sand and apparently hardened dirt comes this massive robot if I had to call it something. I have to say it's probably Forerunner in origin. Here's the second cool point.

Second cool point: While this giant thing coming out of the ground, you see the figure's arm and it appears he's holding dog tags of sorts. What it actually is, is Cortana's old data chip that he would put in his neural drive in his helmet. Here's a pretty decent picture of it that I screen printed and cropped:

Cortana%2BChip%2Bin%2BHalo%2BTeaser.jpg

Ok so we see that there's a chain just going through the data chip that held Cortana which is a clear indication that this is after the period of Halo 4 and Cortana is still gone. How long it's been is impossible to determine.

Third cool point: 01:34 the giant Sentinel or whatever it is, is still emerging and starts taking shape. It spreads what appear to be aesthetic wings and has legs even. And you can see the shape of it's head is almost like a very large version of a Promethean Crawler. When it finally reveals it's body after sending a pulse wave of some sort out you can see that this thing kinda looks like a metal dragon or something. Here's another pic I've screen printed and cropped:

Image%2Bfrom%2BHalo%2BTeaser.jpg

What the heck is this thing?

Fourth cool point: CHIEF IS REVEALED! 01:40, the pulse knocks the hood of the figure and it's the Master Chief. His visor however is cracked (on only the right side)? I won't show a picture I'll just let you watch the video and see it clearly but it raises the question of why?

Chief clutches the chain showing some emotion over his loss and looks the menacing object in its face let's say and you can see the glow of the eyes in the reflection of his visor. Notice one of the lights is brighter than the others or the rest at first but then both glow at the last second before it goes black. I don't know the significance of that but I can extrapolate that maybe it's for vision and attacking like Sentinels or maybe it's just the way the light was hitting Chief.

01:57 shows the Halo logo floating in the desert area which is an indicator that this place might just play a key role in this next Halo game.

02:02 shows a release year of 2014 and says that the journey will begin on Xbox One. Ok to me this indicates that the next Halo game will not come out for the 360 which I guess it shouldn't because it'll be next year and probably late next year because Microsoft is all about the holidays and money and what not. Not the point.

Semi cool point: Floating shadows during this time in the middle. They move across the ground and are almost round in shape. They could be ships or I'm just going too deep into this once again.

I think this is a Halo 5 teaser really for 2 main reasons: The first being because he's holding Cortana's chip as a keepsake because he's still mourning her loss and is showing emotion which is something 343 wanted to focus on. And because there's also a lot of darkness and an eerie feel like things are going to be terrible for Master Chief and that's something 343 said Halo 5 would be like: a darker game in comparison to others. I don't have a citation for that but that's what I've heard from a lot of people and read on Halo Nation.

I hope we can discuss and build on this more. If you caught anything else please comment and share!

Master Chief, not knowing how to cope with his losses, has set out to see the planets of known space to have a long walk to think about everything that has transpired over the last year. On his journey he visits tatooine and it's large deserts and its vast amount of sand. While walking he finds a hut in the middle of no where and accidentally trips down the stairs going into the hut, falling on his face and cracking his visor. When he picks himself up there is an old man standing there and they talk for an hour or two. Then the planet quakes and trembles. The man said his name was Ben Kenobi and that they must fuse to take on the new threats to the universe. Master Chief agrees as he has nothing to lose. Master Chief takes off his armor and fuses with Ben by the potara earrings he keeps in case of an emergency. When they fuse they are now Jon-117 and he puts his armor back on, and puts ben's old cloak on to keep the sand from coming in the visor. They run outside and search for this planet shaking terror. They reach a spot and the metal begins clanking and rattling and clockwork from sly cooper holding the didact inside of him appears from the underground. Jon-117 looks at the old chip that used to hold Cortana. His emotions flow but he stops them knowing he has to kill the didact. He charges to jump on the beast...

HALO 5 has begun! (not really)

I was excited at E3 2011 when We first saw Halo 4, and I'm excited again. HERE WE GO!<br />

I wonder if they actually were going for destiny foolery, if they did I think it was pretty clever, but the flaw with it is that the guy that was talking right before the reveal said it was an xbox exclusive sooo... yea

THIS (Destiny) and THAT (Shadows), I thought the same thing.

I don't know, I'm guessing it's a Sphinx, I mean it's pretty cool.

Oh and btw,  343i.

It seems Chief's going solo in this one, which is exciting. Do you think that's a War Sphinx or something else? some people are saying it could be Mendicant Bias but I'd no clue as to why, I'm not that clued up on Halo lore.

I wouldn't understand why its Mendicant Bias due to the fact he/it was on one of the Ark's.Also something I discovered while reading the Forerunner novels is that War Sphinx's were 10 meters High and I confirmed this by checking Halo Nations data but there was something else I discovered , this could in fact be a Seeker which is a more updated , 'Taller' , better weaponized version of the War Sphinx.

He was on the Arc, which was promptly destroyed by Chief and the Arbiter.

I believe it is a Sphinx, and not a Seeker, simply because I think I remember that there was a description difference between the two. (If we saw/see a tail at the back of the Sphinx, that will confirm it.) Something else is Sphinx's used Forerunner consciousness' as Ancillas.  If what I've read else where about this is right, then using the Data chip of Cortana which holds an echo or a mould, the Sphinx might be able to reconstruct her consciousness (As she is based on Halsey's mind), and we know it can be done via Cryptum and Primordium (Chakas and Riser). So maybe we'll see the return of Cortana.

Also, it's pretty clear that Chief has left (Or was abandoned maybe? I don't know) the UNSC (Survivors guilt maybe after killing/watching people be killed so many times), and decided that for once, he wanted to save a life. As for the planet? It'd have to be an old forerunner one to have War Sphinx's so... Faun Chakor? Charum Hakor? Maybe the sand is neutralised Flood dust and had been consuming the Forerunner planet at the time of cleansing?

We shall see!

There's news that this could be in fact a Forerunner Sphinx. Check here on Archangel Tyrael's post for more details. He goes into great detail.

Here is a sketch of the Didact's War Spinx. This is not official but you could see that this concept has a striking resemblance to what's seen in the trailer. Notice in the bottom right of the page that when it's in flight it is closed, no wings are spread nor legs just like when it comes up from the ground in the trailer. This is from Halo Nation.

Well....

About the floating rocks, if we can guess that the 'vwoom' of sorts was part of an activation process for the War Sphinx model, then we can assume they were, scientifically, floating due to electromagnetism. The rocks themselves could be metallic and be highly magnetic, and any simple electrical charge upwards and outwards, especially one that could've been "charging" the sphinx over some time, could possibly levitate them.

Chief wouldn't, of course, because he weighs 2 tonnes rather than a few grams.

There's also a crucial part you didn't notice. If you look at Chief's cloak it appears it's smaller than what you would expect since he's wearing a huge Power pack. He would have a huge hunch behind his head if he had it on.

I've heard somewhere that Frankie completely discounted this, so if it's true please tell me lol

I did see this in a video and I did not post it here. I think there's something to this. It adds to the "Master Chief goes rogue" idea in my opinion. I don't think he's wearing full armor. Just a basic body suit.

Also notice the paint chipping from his helmet. He got messed up.

Well, I understand how you guys would think that his chest plate is gone... and that the other possibility is that it's something more advanced . But... remember how Halo 4's legendary ending had Master Chief's armor being... upgraded. If not that, I'll assure you the armor was tinkered with one way or another. But, personally, I think his armor was something a bit more updated. As for this game being Halo 5, I'm afraid it isn't. And I'm sorry I don't remember where I read this, but apparently it wasn't Halo 5. As a matter of fact, they haven't named it yet. ''Halo'' was a placeholder for that reason. And... I'll just leave this here: http://www.examiner.com/article/halo-5-xbox-one-location-possibly-discovered ...

Not positive whether it's The Ark, you can discuss that here in adamj004's thread. Click.

If you pay attention to the end of the video where it has the Halo name you will see a 5 in the clouds and the "L" and "O" make a silhouette of a 5. Also:

Microsoft tweeted a #Halo5 about the trailer, and you say it isn't Halo 5?

:|

Well, like the original trailer, they probably aren't perfectly done with the modeling and stuff. This'll probably come up on Waypoint as well, so....

Y'know. We can see whether its just a trailer thing or it means more.

I'm really loving this right now ^.^ If most of these assumptions are correct, Halo 5 seems like it's setting up to be a pretty bad ass game. A rogue Master Chief not on UNSC's side or Master Chief some upgraded armor. On the installation where who knows what secrets are in store for us ;) I know these are all just assumptions, but if they are true... Whew, prepare your anus guys. Regardless, I'm definitely rooting for this game.
