Why all of the hate over the Xbox One?

Recommended Posts

The Xbox One has been getting an awful lot of hate lately.  I don't understand why.  MS already confirmed there will be no fee for used games and it won't always need to be online.  People keep saying it's just a glorified cable box, and MS doesn't care about the games.  But before the reveal even started, MS said it would mainly just be showing off its hardware, and save the games for E3.  Which they did.  People are so misinformed, they just jump on the hate bandwagon without knowing any facts.  Why don't we wait till E3, when they actually show off some games before we start giving our opinion? How are we supposed to know if a console is bad or good when we haven't really seen what it can do?

You're misinformed. There WILL be a fee, because borrowed games are linked to profiles.

You MUST be online at least once in a 24 hour period.

You MUST have Kinect connected at all times, otherwise the Xbox One won't run.

It isn't backwards compatable.

It isn't compatable with current gaming headsets.

It has hardly any storage space. 500GB is nothing when dev's will put 50GB of data on Blu-ray Discs for their games. Thus only 10 games by that, since you MUST install every game.

A lot of things are wrong with this console, and definitely has every right to be hated.

But we have to wait for E3 to comment on its gaming.

But certainly hardly any of those points above can be forgiven.

The used game policy is horrible. You won't be able to lend games more than once (My entire circle of friends lend games). The fact that you have to connect to Live once every 24 hours is a terrible idea. My friends and I love to have huge system link parties, which now won't work. Plus if you travel some where with no internet connection, you are screwed. The kinect thing doesn't bother me too much, but it defiantly gets other people. Basically, it's a good console with fatal flaws.
