So anyone with any of this knowledge , just share some idea's if you have any. Shredderman Posted January 25, 2013 Report Share Posted January 25, 2013 I can use FL Studio on any crap-tastic laptop I have You'd have to dedicate this PC to gaming if you want to build one. I recommend you look at some local stores and comparing prices before looking online and in fact weigh your options and keep it open (Don't rely on one brand because the price is just going to get higher and higher) But don't go cheap with Power Supply Units, pick something like Corsair otherwise it'll definitly be Faulty or last less (if you're going for a gaming rig I recommend 500-700 Watts or so). Also what's your budget going to be for it ($$$ Maximum), how much money can you save and how are you going to maintain the PC overtime. And also think things through before making a final decision. Well I know it sounds like a lot of work but building a PC you want to get the best Performance per dollar and have a proper knowledge-base before starting. Azaxx Posted January 25, 2013 Report Share Posted January 25, 2013 I suggest a GeForce 660 or above, though the 690 is way too expensive even though it's amazing. For the CPU, a Intel i5 and i7 work fine. AD AMD has some good option but I can't name some sadly. For a sound system I have "creative soundblast" and it's good, or having a good headset. Have around 8-10Gb of RAM is good for a fast running PC. Try having a SSD for the Operating System and essentials. While having a 1-3Tb HDD for program's and downloads. Have a good cooling system too, to keep it from melting your components. For a monitor get a LED screen. Just to make use of the good graphics card. Shredderman Posted January 25, 2013 Report Share Posted January 25, 2013 You can easily build an awesome gaming rig for under $2,000 And make sure it's Windows 7, although Windows Vista Ultimate isn't as bad as the other editions I'd rather go with either Windows 7 or Linux Mint. I have custom built several gaming PC's, and have a bit of experience . I would recommend a much different GPU...while that one is a powerful card, it actually doesn't exist. It was a trial card made to demonstrate nextgen graphics computing. In my experience, XFX is the most powerful and dependable GPU manufacturer, and this card will wow you. It runs at 1.0 Ghz, and can overclock to 1.2 or more, making it the fastest GPU on the market. It is the XFX Double D Radeon HD 7870 card. It has 2gb of GDDR5 memory, and can run any game on the market at max FPS at well over 1920x1080. It uses a PCI 3.0 interface, and has two built in fans, so the hybrid LCS cooler will not be necessary It is available on Newegg for $250. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150605 I also recommend a different case. The one I suggest is one that I use for my PC. It is unique because it has a bottom mounted PSU. It boasts several massive fans, and many ports in the front and back for almost any mobo and can hold quite a few DVD players or anything else you want to install. It is a true beast of a case, and the price reflects it. $219. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119239 While the G.Skill Ripjaw memory is superb, it has a maximum clock speed of 1600 mhz. This would interfere with and even slow down your i7 and GPU's extremely fast clock speeds. I would recommend the faster G.Skill memory, such as the G.Skill Trident. They have a 2400 mhz clock, which is significantly faster . SuperIntendant Posted January 26, 2013 Report Share Posted January 26, 2013 Only thing I see that could be improved on is that you might want either a hybrid drive or both an SSD and an HDD, that way your boot times will be quicker and if you play one game a lot more than others it can be moved onto an SSD so your loading times will decrease. So there is a way to get it cheap. But my recommendation: Use an NVidia graphics card that's dedicated, it'll help with the graphics a TON. Hey, maybe you could use Insignia's new OS.
