I glanced through your your posts not realizing that you were stating that bloom is a love or hate thing, and that you dont see how it would effect a gamers skill, and cannot understand why people hate it so much. I was just trying to point out things I misunderstood on behalf of most of the members here who have never poked around the games actual tags and values. The only thing I can see that we do disagree on is the weapon mechanics behind CoD and Halo. In Cod there is just as much weapon spread as Halo. I have played Black ops with my son a few times, and I can never land consecutive hits either with holding the trigger down for automatic fire or pulling the trigger rapidly. I can visibly see the impact damage hitting everything but my target, except a few times when shots land. Now on every weapon, the first few shots will land your target, but also I have found when playing thru, that CoD tries to more closely emulate the real battle thing. Technically in real life if you got shot in the foot, the toe wouldn't be the only thing to suffer damage. Chances are in a real battle, you would bleed to death from major arterie damage, and lack of a medic right there or evac to help you out. So I guess the whole getting shot in the foot and instantly dying part is a lot better than crawling around or hopping, and slowly dying. Although it would be hilarious fun to hop around the corner on one foot and headshot someone. I would love to see the killcam of a player hopping around. For that matter, I think it would be fun if they had done some sort of battle damage mechanic for the spartans. Maybe when the shields were lowered, show some bullet holes or make it possible to blow off their arms and legs. How great would it be to take out the arm of that nade thrower for the whole match, or for that matter, take out someones arms and just watch them run around trying to pick up weapons or a flag. LMAO! well im not sure about black ops i meant MW2. as far as the toe shot thing you could just lower movment speed of the player untill they either bleed out or get medicals. the game already has a last stad mechanic so it would fit. as far as halo goes i want destructable armor. if you chop off somones arm with an energy sword and they escape they can survive. they have to either A: get a robo arm like kat. or B: reclaim their arm before they bleed to death in order to get it fused back on to their armor. medpacks will only keep you going for a time when u lose limbs not heal the limb itself. when a spartan loses his leg he will have to lay there with his pistol out untill he either bleeds out or is finished. legs would not be replacable. and as far as the armor your armor will degrade as it is damaged. to the point that if your sheild generator takes too many hits you could end up with a wonkey sheild or no sheilds at all. other armor parts could have different effects on the player.....imagine shooting somone in the back permanently disabling their armour ability untill they either respawn or pick up a new one. or if your visor takes hits it could get cracked like on the level lone wolf. or even glitch your hud. imagine when you get stuck in the helmet with a plasma grenade if you think fast you would be able to remove your helmet and throw it at the enemy. this would cause you to have no head protection however, making you extremly weak to headshots at least untill you steal a new helmet. the possiblilities are endless......but that is another thread worth of ideas lol Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

A lot of these people have been following The Halo Universe for Ten years now. Why wouldn't some of them be passionate about a University that they have stuck with for Ten years. For some of us, it's more than that. dont insult me...i have been playing longer then most. halo CE came with my origional xbox that we got close to launch. i fell in love the instant i saw the warthog for the first time. i played coop and deathmatch with my brothers for all hours of the night. we picked the xbox over the ps2 and we did not regret it even though we had nothing else but halo. even my brothers who only played FPS on pc only loved the game because it had that pc feel...halo is iconic but at the end of the day its a video game not somthing to kill eachother over. speaking as a ten year halo fan i say we are a community so we should act like one instead of fighting over stupid pointless crap like bloom.....bloom is such a small change yet people act like it changes the whole game. its pathetic. Dont lecture me about ten years of halo because i grew up with it. i purchased halo CE five times in my life. i purchased halo 2 three times. my first copy was stolen and the second copy broke. i have gotten the halo triple pack and i bought halo 3 twice after my first disk got cracked. along with odst and reach. i have contributed more to bungie and halo sales then most fans. so dont even go down that road. i have been playing halo since it began yet i love AL and bloom. that just goes to show that 343 cannot please everyone. The fanbase is simply to big and diverse. Halo is one of the most important franchises of all time sure. but its not worth losing our humanity over...grow up its only a video game. in ten years a franchise that is far better will come out and it will have the same impact as halo did. so even if halo was sucked into a vortex. their are other good game franchises in existance. some of them are as good as halo. g00n77 Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2011 Bloom = Recoil Master Cheif a bioengineered super soldier wearing 800 pound armor = No recoil I will let you draw your own conclusion but i think that if i was Master Chief that DMR would feel like a BB gun. that is why the recoil is not as bad as it would be in real life. remember it is a futuristic armor pericing rifle desighned to peirce highly advanced alien armor and sheilds. an AK47 would tickle an elite at best. so the gun is ganna have more kick then your standard peashooter. bigger bullets equal more kick tin can armor or not. a standard untrained human would get his shoulder broken if he fired a DMR in excess. Bloom is not recoil. Recoil is the "Angle change per shot upper" and "Angle change acceleration" values located in the [weap] tag. Bloom is a reticule widget function of the HUD. It's operation HUD perpose is to give the player a visually flaring reticule that encompases the area in which the "min and max error angle" of the projectile is predicted to land. IceMan Posted September 1, 2011 Report Share Posted September 1, 2011 I think people are still missing a huge point in all of this, Bloom and No Bloom are having their own playlists, so if you want it, play in one playlist, if you dont, play in the other. I dont think 343 would completely turn the game upside down, they have to cater to a wide audience, so they're merely adding another playlist to please the people who dont want Bloom, the core game is still gonna be there.
