DGL - Forge Contest Submission Thread

 

This thread is for map submissions to the DGL. The map submissions will be posted in this thread using the template listed below. Remember that this is for 1v1 maps that use a FFA spawn placement. Please make sure that your map meets all of the requirements and is ready to be used.

Map Name: [DGL] Mercury

 

Description: This map is a more traditional Halo-styled map then I've submitted in the past. Probably the best playing 1v1 map I've made to date. I can't really describe it other than to say it has a large cylinder Stucture in the middle, with platforms, biuldings and bridges around it.

Map Name - Hanger 72 v2

Fileshare - DARKSTAR o72

Players - 6 maximum (plays best as a 2v2 or 1v1 map)

Gametypes - Slayer, CTF, KOTH, Oddball

 

Hanger 72 is a top secret ONI Aero Space research, and development facility. The first prototype Pelican 2 dropship, is housed within. There are elevated walkways on either side of the hanger representing the red, and blue bases. The floor around the hanger is cluttered with crates and maintenance dollys. Players looking for cover on the top of the ship should beware the engines (man cannons) which are in test mode and will splatter a player against the back wall of the hanger.

 

I would need to change a few of the ordinance, and weapon spawns, so let me know it it looks like you could use it.

 

Here is a preview video I made of it. I made a few changes after play testing but for the most part it is the same.

Description: a map that can work as 1v1 but can also work for 4v4. It currently does not have a FFA option to it, just a Red vs Blue but it could be quickly Edited to become FFA manageable

Just a hint, when playing on this and other Halo 2 Maps, change the jump height to 110%, it makes the movement similiar to Halo 2. Enjoy!

I'd like to offer Memoria up for consideration. The version presently in my Fileshare does not fit the ordnance drop restrictions, and the spawns may need to be tweaked a little, but if the map itself seems okay I'd be more than happy to produce a DGL version.

 

Also note that the map does use the 'Juicy' filter, in order to make it darker, and while player visibility isn't affected some armour colours may display strangely (the standard matchmaking red becomes bright pink, for example). I'd prefer not to remove this as it's a key part of the map's atmosphere, so if you think it's too strong I could perhaps add a trait zone to force players to use certain armour colours and we could see how well that works, before deleting it outright.

 

Map name: Memoria

Supports: All game types except Dominion and Extraction

Description: A retro-style map built to subvert traditional Halo gameplay. The centre of the map is composed of a single large room, filled with large columns which create narrow sightlines and provide plenty of cover for cautious players to perform surprise attacks from. Two doors on either side provide clear entry at the cost of low visibility, while the shield doors at either end offer an open view of the interior. The exterior is formed of a large ring with more traditional long and clear sightlines with little clutter and cover, and at each corner sits a wall with fusion coils behind, creating a very risky camping spot. For orientation, two of the outer walls are made of windows, providing a view of the lake and cave beyond, while the others are plain metal. A random power weapon spawns in the very centre of the map, meaning players will need to risk the labyrinth in order to gain an advantage in firepower.

This is a very large map and could be used for any game type pretty much.To be honest,ive been makin maps since Halo 3 and I couldnt figure out how to set it for FFA spawn replacement.I dont even know what that means lol sry.All my friends have tried it out and they liked it alot.In fact I run the forge team in ICONIK GAMING,the community I belong to.1 question though.I dropped a gravlift on the map and it went under the ground and I cant take it back out.Is there a way to do this.Just Part of it is shooting up.

All of these are way too big and your spawn placement is hourendous

 

Guys make sure that you submit maps that will work for 1v1s. Not random slayer maps you have made.

Map:

DGL Lynx

 

The map has been formatted from its orginal version to support the DGL Gametype. 1v1 Gametypes flow easily, however the map was built to support up to 8 players. Playtesting showed the best gametypes to be oddball, koth, and slayer. CTF and Extraction are also supported. The map is symmetrical and balanced.

 

Weapons:

Speed Boost, Light Rifle, Suppressor, Plasma Pistol, Magnum, all grenades.
