This list has 33 members that have signed up to play in this contest. All members able to make it to the 12:00 pm EST meeting today on XBL are encouraged to do so. Party Captains will be chosen and they will, in turn, select members for their Party's. Once the Party's have been formally selected the Party Captains will be randomly selected to choose the Party name from a predetermined selection of names. Once the selection process is completed the Party's will be listed here in this OP for future reference.

This OP will house all of the Party pairings, winners and contestants 'bannished' from the contest. As the jury is formed the contestants that make it up will also be listed here and be allowed to sit in on all of the remaining Party Council Votes that follow.

In addition, some or all of the contestants bannished from the game and not serving on the jury may be offered the chance to assist with future competitions within the contest as extras or obstacles in

some of the remaining challenges.

Challenge #1

Team Flag Relay

Party's will compete in a Flag Relay that will require them visualize the best way to use the various features of the challenge, deal with obstacles that will require team work to overcome and traverse the course within a set period of time and return the most flags for the win. Party's will be allowed to view the challenge from high above the Island, at it highest peak, for 2 minutes before the challenge begins. This will give each group a chance to establish a strategy to begin with. Once the challenge begins all members will move out together and will have to use not only their initial look at the challenge and apply their initial strategy, but adapt their strategy and use team work as they move through the course and find areas that will require them to do so.

One hint is, no single member of a Party will be able to traverse the course on their own while carrying the flag by themselves. You will have to work together, communicate and be a real team in order to win this challenge as a team.

Party's will actually compete side by side on their own equal length course that will have duplicate obstacles. You will be able to see the other Party move ahead or behind you as each team applies their individual strategies. You will not be allowed to physically interfere with the opposing Party during this challenge. Each Party will be in their own Party Chat and have only a visual awareness of how they are performing compared to the challenging team.

Challenge #2

Camp Building 101

In this challenge contestants were expected to break their teams into two groups and have two members join us in the camp that had been previously created and the remaining members were sent into Forge World. Prior to the start of the contest the party's were given little to no information about the challenge or it's requirements. They only knew they had to send two members to our lobby and the rest of their team to forge. Once we had assembles the pair from each party we then told them they were being taken into a map that contained a camp that had been built by imakequilts. Once in the camp they were allowed to communicate with their fellow party members in Forge World via a party chat and then had to describe the entire camp to them. The party chat communication, the directions from the two members describing what they saw in the camp and their ability two orient themselves for the camp location and layout were the only input the forgers had on recreating the camp for themselves.

Needless to say, it was not the easiest way to forge a camp! Truth is, they did much better on the whole than was expected. As you can see from the images offered in the post below in this thread, any of the camps would have made a great home for the contestants to live in during the SURVIVOR Halo Style contest. Thought they were all winners in their own right, one party's map in each heads up comparison stood out over the other.

This thread will hold all updates for the contest.

Prior to the first challenge I will be hiding an individual 'Immunity Icon' somewhere on SURVIVOR Island. This item will give the bearer immunity from being voted off of SURVIVOR Halo Style during a Party Council vote. It will be asked of every contestant prior to booting them from the game if they hold the 'Immunity Icon'. If they do in fact hold the icon they will be immune to the votes cast against them and the contestant with the next highest amount of vote will be the one booted. If no other votes were cast for other members of the Party, a new vote will be held that will not include the holder of the 'Immunity Icon'.

On Thursday August 9th of this week I will be sending a PM (Private Message) to all contestants. The message will be sent 10:00 am EST to help ensure the best possible opportunity for players from all countries to have a relatively fair amount of time to read the PM and access the game in order to search.This message will contain a series of clues that will allow each player to navigate the Island and hopefully find the 'Immunity Icon' that could possibly save them from being voted off and give them that needed opportunity to win. The first contestant to find the icon and PM what the icon is and it's location will be the sole holder of it.

Okay! we have finished the first SURVIVOR Halo Challenge and it was a fun success! I strongly encourage all contestants to be there next week. Contestants that are not showing up for these challenges each week will be disqualified and risk not being allowed to join future challenges.

Next weeks challenge will be at 5:00 pm EST August 25th!

Challenge 2

Camp Building 101

On August 25, 2012 we had our second challenge in Survivor Halo Style. This challenge was a test of teamwork, communication and ability to pay attention to detail. We took two members of each team into a map of a camp we created. The remaining members went into forge world. The challenge was for each team in forge world to recreate the camp with only their teammates description to guide them. And when you look at these maps you can just “hear” what the forgers were told by their teammates.

Each map was judged by Absolute Dog and imakequilts on how well they did twelve things within the map. Then their scores were averaged to get the results.

The maps were judged on:

Building in the exact location.
Forming the walls around camp properly.
Placing all the spawns in the correct location.
Placing the flags properly and placing each one in the correct location.
Placing all 7 capture plates properly in the map.
Placing the 4 camp stools in the map.
Building the campfire.
Placing two lights properly in the map using the correct colors. (orange in the grassy area to light up the ground and red in the campfire)
Placing a sleeping area in the proper locations, using similar building materials.
Placing a second sleeping area in the proper location, using similar building materials.
Placing a camera looking at the waterfalls.
Adding two special effects to the map (Next Gen and Juicy)

Each section was worth 10 points being graded as :

very close = 10

somewhat close but not quiet = 5

and no you really messed that one up = 0

The teams were only told to duplicate the map. We did not tell them which details we would be looking for.

Each team did an admirable job and each map was unique.

The Hunters created an awesome structure and did a noble attempt recreating the map. They glowed up their grass and leaves with a yellow light instead of an orange one which gave a golden glow to their camp. Guess they are thinking about going for the gold.

The Reclaimers did an awesome job placing the map in the proper location. I have to say that I love how the campfire looks like a flower. The Reclaimers were the only team that figured out the special effects that we placed in our map.

The Covenant has a cool looking camp. They used an orange light to go for the gold and it worked quite well. The walls look as if there may be gold in those rocks. And I believe they were the only team to pick up on the fact that there was a rock in one of the sleeping areas under a sleeping bag. So if you go hang out at the Covenant camp remember you will be sleeping on rocks but being such a close knit group they are all sleeping together in one area so you won't get cold.

The Sangheili did a great job of communicating. They were the only team to get spawn points in their map. They were also the closest to getting my smily face made out of capture plates into their map. They were not perfect but they did pay attention to detail.

So just incase your wondering who is going to the party council.....

Congratulations to The Sangheili and The Reclaimers for avoiding voting off a member of your team this week. Looking forward to next week when we will see who will Out Wit, Out Play, and Outlast their competition on Survivor Halo Style!

Help your party in order for them to help you. You will all see what the other members of your party see, but you will have to give them your vision in order for them to give you their vision. Sound complicated and cryptic........good! It really isn't though. The next challenge, like all others before it, require team work, communication and the desire to win. See you Saturday!

The SURVIVOR Halo Style Merge has happened!

We now have two party's, since we have 16 players, merged together from the previous four and the new party's are called The Prometheans and The Forerunners. Hopefully, since the currents players are regular participants in the challenges, will will now have full teams participating each week. This will need to be true for both teams for this weeks challenges.

Challenges #5 and #6 will be the fastest paced competitions to date and once they begin you will have little time to think or plan ahead. They used to say that speed kills.......I'm here to tell you that speed will bring you a win! Mistakes could up being costly, so you must use speed with some measure of control, just saying. This will also be a week that you want all of your team to show up, due to the way the winning team will be decided. So remember, you may have at least one member sit out each challenge if they are unavailable. More than one member means you will be competing a player down and may very well cost you either one of the competitions. So be ready, get your game on and go for it!

Due to recent revelations about conduct that occurred during one of the challenges two members have been removed for cheating. This incident, in effect, has a ripple effect in the contest, a party council appearance and a member being voted out. This has also cost numerous hours of review and conversation by those of us who investigated the matter.

Here is the end result. The two member involved have been removed, another may follow. Due to the series of voting by the then party known as The Hunters, GH05T LEGEND is being reinstated to the competition as he was the last member of that team voted out prior to the merge.

The challenge that was affected by the cheating was the 2nd Challenge: "Camp Building 101". The Reclaimers had two members directly involved in the inappropriate activities which gained them a win over The Hunters. Since The Hunters have lost two challenges since and there voting has consistently been all party members voting for a single member of their party, the last vote, in the order of the votes, is considered a mute point. This is the immediate fix that can be applied at this time.

Though the players who were caught cheating have continued to compete in competitions until today, this will require require more thought as how to best manage the challenges that followed. Since that time, the team they were on won one more challenge, lost one challenge and the merge team they were on, won one challenge and was disqualified from another. There will be time to think over the impact this had, in full, before the next series of challenges on Saturday.

Challenge # 5

Survivor Endurance Race

On September 22, 2012 we had our fifth challenge in Survivor Halo Style. This challenge was a test of endurance.This was a twenty minute endurance race where the two newly merged teams (The Forerunners and The Prometheans) raced around forge world collecting checkpoints. There were 75 checkpoints per lap. The team with the most checkpoints wins.

So Spartans start your engines!

And they are off! (off the map it looks like)

First jump doesn't look too difficult (or is it)!

That first jump shook one spartan up so bad that they took to walking.

Not a smart move on his part!

Some spartans did not survive but their ghost did!

I do have to apologize for not putting the stop sign in!

Hope it did not cause too much of a problem!

Several spartans thought that they were from Hogwarts and could make their mongoose fly.

The second jump was a killer.

A few people lost the road for a minute and they found out that they are not from Hogwarts!

A few managed to hold on by a tire....

Once we were off the starting platform the race took off over land for a very long tour of Forge World.

Teammates were watching out for each others backs....

Stopping to give directions.....

And then there was that one group that decided to play chicken on their mongooses under the water!

Good thing they managed to not total their mongoose....

Not everyone knew which way was up

But in the end the Forerunners managed to go through more checkpoints then the Prometheans did. Prometheans go to party council for Challenge # 5.

Challenge # 6

Trench Warfare

On September 22, 2012 we had our sixth challenge in Survivor Halo Style.

This challenge was simple! From your spawn point take and hold the center trench.

Rules:

Players are actually allowed to shoot each other in this challenge.

Absolute Dog asked the players to take over the center trench and do not go into the other teams side with the warning that you will not like the results if you do.

So the players started and the shooting began!

The Forerunners took an early lead! They maintained the trench for the first 5 minutes 52 seconds.

They were going to have no problem winning this challenge!

Then the first Forerunner decided to see what happened when you crossed the trench to the other teams side. Well since he did not immediately die his teammates decided to join him. The next 10 minutes the Forerunners decided to spawn kill the Prometheans....

At the end of the game the Forerunners found out that Absolute Dog meant by “if you cross over the trench into the other teams side you won't like the results”.... The Forerunners were disqualified from challenge # 6 for breaking the rules! So the Forerunners are off to party council.

The final merge has taken place and the remaining contestants are now all part of the party known as The Spartans! From here on out all challenges will pit each player against their fellow contestants.

These heads up challenges will continue until there are only two remaining players who will be voted on by the jury.
